Breakdown: Lookback, page 2

Sorry to be so out of touch, Patrons! I've been out of town this previous week. Work on NTO and PWS continues apace. I'll be sharing the totality of my PWS short development with you eventually as many of you expressed a lot of interest in concept/visual development. Meanwhile, here is a really quick walkthrough of the second NTO page. Man, this was really forever ago. I've left out the huge inline ramble on this one; if you've got any questions though I'd love to rap with you about this & more in the comments. All the best and thanks so much, Erin

Comments

Thanks, Steve! It is indeed reconstructed from PS layers. On these earlier pages it makes for a pretty reliable reconstruction; later books I probably won't be able to do this as well. My files got bigger and I started flattening as I went a lot of the time.

I love seeing how you work, by the way.

A question and a comment (for now). 1. Did you keep these snapshot versions along the way, or did you reconstruct them for the show-n-tell above by removing layers? 2. It was useful to me to see how you get your lighting right (the intensity of that day's edge horizon) in the last image (not before). And comparing C and D helps me understand what makes the light look like outdoor light (there is light EVERYWHERE - even though it's got a direction and a focus there is so much to spare that it blurs edges and lights things even on the opposite side).
