Beloved patrons,
Karan here. I write to you from a forest behind the Air BnB I'm in right now. This place is in the quiet outskirts of Dehradun, Uttrakhand right where the Himalyan range begins and concrete jungles end.
It has been a while since we've told you what's up and I wanted to give you a little update.
As most of you know, we're working on our debut album. As is with most debut albums, it is a "make it or break it" thing. Since the stakes are so high, our entire focus has remained on delivering the absolute best of our ability. We are left with 4 songs to make and honestly, we havent made it this far without disagreements, differences and contentions. Don't get me wrong, I strongly believe that if we dont disagree on anything we're doing something wrong and the best in us only comes out when we fight to find common ground.
However, it was getting quite exhausting and I found it hard to make progress with everything going on in the city (the farmers protests which you may have heard about are taking place right across the block from where my studio is). The only way I could get anything done was to get away from it all and work unbirdled.
Thus, here I am for 20 days with a majestic view of of the mountains, nothing but the sound of the breeze, very slow internet (which is great) and an absolutely stellar host who was willing to heavily discount his rent because he loves what we do!
I'll be posting a lot about the next 20 days but I wouldnt want to hound you with constant emails. You can check my posts and stories on instagram @karankatiyar.in if they would interest you.
There another thing I wanted to share. The songs we're writing are stories inspired by our fans. I'm not sure if you've familiar with the facebook page Bloodywood Rajposting? It's a private community made by fans where besides memes, they also share some very deep, sometimes dark, sometimes downright horrifying netflix script-worthy personal experiences that lead them to connect to our music. It's a safe space free of judgement and the most supportive bunch of people I've seen on the internet. If you're not there, youre missing out. It is from these stories that we've picked up inspiration to write some of our songs and hopefully, will do justice to the emotions behind them.
I wanna thank you from the absolute bottom of my heart for continuing to support us and what we do. We stay committed to making the best music we can and to making you all proud!
Tons of love,
Karan
P.S. Patreon sent me an email saying that all merch has been shipped. When you get something, send us a photo of it!
