Let's do this!

Quick recap: A week back we asked you what you thought about us doing a song about fighting depression and also purchasing and giving away 50 sessions of online professional counselling to those our viewers who would like to seek it. Not only did you smash the approve button, but so many of you bumped up your pledge! Is there no end to the Bloodywood family's sheer awesomeness? 

And thus, the hunt began for the best online counselling portal. We went through all major portals and read extensive reviews about them (YourDost.in, BetterLyf, even the American company called 7 Cups of Tea, etc). However, none of them seemed to make the cut either because they were unresponsive, had too many bad reviews, employed psychology students/bots instead of professionals, or just seemed to think of this as a huge business opportunity (and sent us a quotation of thrice our budget once they came to know we are crowdfunding this). At this point, one thing was clear - depression is a disease for some, but business for many.

We started considering talking to individual professionals and counselors with actual credit - people who practice privately and aren't a part of some money mongering organization. Upon extensive research, one name kept popping up amongst the best online counselors - Prachi Vaish. 

I (Karan) wrote to her with a briefing about us and asked her how much she would charge for 50 sessions. To be honest, I expected another one of those dead-ass template thank-you emails with an astronomical quotation as a reply. However, she responded personally, and in an unexpected manner: 

Two guys rocking their balls off and asking for 50 mental health sessions? Way to make a first impression! Note to self: write more elaborate introductory emails. 

That's when we explained our intention to write a song about fighting depression. And that we were funded by everyday people who believed in our music. And that we were doing this because we wanted to help in whatever way we can. And that it would be easier to explain over a phone call. 

Upon speaking to her in person, we were convinced that she's the best person to work with. Here's why:

- She downright LOVED the idea and purpose behind this

- She offered to give VIDEO COUNSELLING SESSIONS instead of text without any extra charge, as she said they are way effective when it comes to online counselling (mind you, video counselling sessions cost at least 5x more than chat counselling)

- Beyond the above, she loved the idea so much she actually offered a DISCOUNT! However, we asked her to increase the number of sessions instead of giving us a discount - to which she happily agreed.

SO, all in all, we now have 60 SESSIONS (instead of 50) of VIDEO COUNSELLING (instead of chat counselling, however, one can still use chat instead of video depending on one's comfort) and all for $1000 (instead of $4500 - what most portals were quoting to us). All of this from one of THE BEST online counselors in India.
