Spectre's Chronicles: Chap #24
Added 2023-10-10 12:04:58 +0000 UTC"ARRGGH!" Peter's grunt echoed through the air, instantly grabbing my attention.
I turned my gaze towards him and my heart skipped a beat as I witnessed the Lizard's powerful grip on his waist, effectively restraining him.
In a cruel twist of fate, the Lizard's other hand had firmly clutched Peter's hand, preventing him from using his web-shooters to defend himself.
The force of the Lizard's grip caused the spider-web to burst out uncontrollably, rendering Peter unable to deploy his signature weapon. My mind raced, searching for a solution to free Peter from the Lizard's grasp and bring an end to this perilous situation.
Quickly redirecting the mirror shards that I had conjured, I focus my mind and converged all the shards into one causing one big-golden mirror construct to form. I focused my energy and propelled them towards the Lizard with great speed and precision. The shards sliced through the air, finding their mark on the Lizard's body.
With the shard's powerful impact, the Lizard propelled backwards with extreme speed. He crashed against the rooftop, his body colliding with the edge of the building, teetering on the brink of a perilous fall.
However, using his sharp claws, the Lizard managed to grip the edge, preventing himself from plummeting to the ground below. His claws dug deep into the building's surface, holding him in place despite the precarious position.
"GRAHHKKKK!" The Lizard's loud screech caused some spectators on the ground to cry out in fear. And that fear was further amplified when they saw the frightening form of the Lizard all in its glory.
Arriving beside Peter, I materialized a mirror platform beneath the Ganali Device and the shoulder bag that the Lizard had dropped during our intense fight. Levitating them towards me, I checked on Peter to make sure he was alright.
"Are you okay?" I asked, concern evident in my voice.
"Yeah, just... my right web shooter got destroyed," Peter replied, still catching his breath. As the Ganali Device floated before us, I looked at Peter and instructed him.
"Install this at the top of the Oscorp tower and load this..." I handed him the device and a blue vial of serum.
"This..." Peter muttered, his confusion apparent as he glanced at the blue vial in my hand.
"You have a smart friend," I simply replied.
Taking a determined look at the device and the cure in my hand, Peter shot his web toward the top of the tower.
"You can count on me, um... Mr. Mirrorman...?" Peter's uncertain words trailed off.
Looking at him with a deadpan expression, I responded, "Just go..." silently thinking to myself, 'I swear... if that becomes my other name, I would rather disappear from the face of the Earth.'
As Peter jolted upwards, the Lizard and I were the only two remaining on the wrecked battlefield.
"You... Why are you doing this? I don't even know who you are, so WHY?!!!" the Lizard bellowed, his anger and confusion evident in his voice.
"..."
Silence hung in the air for a moment as I met his gaze.
The Lizard's rage intensified, his voice laced with venomous intent. "YOU THINK THAT YOU CAN JUST COME AT ME AND MESS WITH MY PLAN!! I'll tear you apart! I'll tear everyone that you hold dear apart until you BEG FOR MY MERCY!"
"Enough with the villain monologue... Let's dance," I stated firmly, my voice resonating with determination. And with those words, a shift occurred, and the world around us transformed into a mesmerizing reflection of mirrors, casting an ethereal glow.
The Lizard found himself transported to the Mirror Dimension, a realm under my control.
"You're in my world now!~" I declared, my eyes gleaming with confidence. The mirrors that surrounded us reflected his every move, distorting his perception and disorienting him.
The Lizard roared in frustration, demanding to be released from the illusion that surrounded him. "Where am I?! Release me, you witch!" he growled, his voice filled with anger and confusion.
"I'm a wizard ---" I calmly replied, a smirk playing on my lips. With a swift and elegant movement, I shifted into the mirror plane, effortlessly crossing into the realm of reflections. In an instant, I materialized beside the Lizard, floating in mid-air, my leg poised for a powerful kick aimed at his monstrous head.
"BITCH!!" My foot struck his reptilian face with force, the impact reverberating through the Mirror Dimension. The strength behind the blow sent the Lizard spiraling through the air before crashing into the mirrored ground.
The sound of shattering glass filled the air as the Lizard collided with the reflective surface, momentarily disoriented and stunned by the unexpected attack.
The surrounding mirrors captured the aftermath of our clash, reflecting the Lizard's dazed expression back at him.
You might be wondering how my mid-air kick could inflict such damage on the Lizard.
Well, being the ruler of the Mirror Dimension has its advantages. One of those advantages is the enhanced power I possess within this realm. As you have witnessed, my kick to the Lizard's head was exceptionally powerful and impactful.
The Mirror Force within the realm of the Mirror Dimension is in a state of constant flux, and this flux is intricately connected to my own body.
It flows through me, much like the air moves through the lungs, allowing me to channel its power and manipulate it to my will without undergoing any physical transformation, i.e., being a mirror.
"GRAAHKKK!" The Lizard's roar reverberated inside the mirror dimension, turning his hatred-filled gaze towards me.
With a ferocious determination, he dug his razor-sharp claws into the mirror surface, leaving deep indentations as he propelled himself towards me with incredible speed.
Noticing the speed that he kept as he made his way toward me, I widened my eyes.
'With his mass and the speed that he kept going, one wrong move against that could kill me...' With those thoughts running through my head, I waved my hand causing some mirror structures to obstruct his path.
The Lizard used his claws to dig into the mirror constructs with extreme agility, allowing him to cling to them until he was only five meters away from me. With a strong leap, the Lizard flexed his reptilian claws, intending it to swing toward me to meet my doom.
With a raise of my hand, a mirror barrier emerged from the ground, forming a protective shield just in time to intercept the Lizard's swinging claws, preventing them from reaching me and averting my impending doom... at least that's what I thought so...
*CRACK!!*
His claws ripped apart the barrier that I conjured with ease, I watched as his claws dug deep into the once-solid construct, sending shards of reflective glass scattering through the air in slow motion.
Raising my hand, I focus my mind and I willed the very fabric of space around me to respond to my command. The air crackled with a newfound power as the Mirror Dimension itself trembled from what I intended to do.
In a surreal twist of reality, the space around us seemed to stretch and distort, defying all known laws of physics. The Lizard's menacing form, along with his deadly claws, were yanked away from me, their inch-meter proximity now expanded to an unfathomable distance.
Time seemed to stand still as the Lizard's bewildered expression was frozen in mid-roar, his outstretched claws suspended in the elongated space as he dropped to the ground.
Swiftly conjuring two circular mirror constructs, their edges sharp and gleaming, I positioned them to my left and right. With a focused mental push, I set the constructs into motion, propelling them forward like spinning wheels of destruction.
They cut through the air with incredible speed, leaving a trail of shattered reflections in their wake as they zeroed in on the Lizard.
The Lizard, recognizing the imminent threat, crossed his claws in a defensive stance, attempting to shield himself from the impending assault. The clash of his formidable reptilian claws against the razor-sharp edges of the mirror constructs sent sparks flying, a testament to the force behind their collision.
However, the Lizard's defensive maneuver proved futile against the relentless spinning constructs. In a matter of seconds, their whirling momentum sliced through the Lizard's claws, severing them with brutal precision.
The mirror constructs, driven by their unyielding force, continued their trajectory and bore into the Lizard's chest, inflicting a deep, gaping wound that caused his green blood to spill forth.
The Lizard let out a guttural roar of agony, his reptilian form writhing in pain as he grappled with the severity of his injuries. The power of the mirror constructs had proved to be too much for even his formidable strength to withstand, leaving him vulnerable and weakened before my very eyes.
"Cursed YOU!!" The Lizard bellowed with unbridled fury, his voice laced with venomous rage. His eyes burned with malice as he fixated his gaze on me, his adversary. However, his expression swiftly shifted from anger to bewilderment as he caught sight of the mischievous smile playing on my lips.
"Time's up, Dino," I murmured under my breath, my voice laced with a sense of finality. With a swift motion, I tore a rift in the mirrored space, revealing the ominous sight of the activated Ganali Device with a blue serum on it. Its small monitor displayed a timer ticking down with only three seconds remaining.
The Lizard's reptilian eyes widened in a mix of horror and realization as he comprehended the impending doom that awaited him. The blue serum contained within the device shimmered with an otherworldly glow, a potent concoction that spelled his downfall.
In those brief moments, the weight of our confrontation hung heavy in the air. The Lizard, trapped and cornered, was now faced with an inevitable fate, brought upon by his own actions and the unfolding events orchestrated by my hand.
