New 8K content coming on GO!
Added 2021-09-30 09:26:39 +0000 UTCOIJ*GO is getting strovies, stream movies! 2 days ago I bought a super light SAMYANG 18mm f/2.8 lens which is perfect for gimbals with my a1 camera. I took some test gimbal shots today with Leo. It’s excellent!
I’ll make the first 8K strovie near Asakusa ** and upload soon ** typhoon rains tomorrow so maybe the weekend. I’ve also been making a lot of changes behind the scenes, prepping for light get up and go travel kit for shoots in October. The STATE of EMERGENCY is over. We’re going to rock the rest of the year!

2021-09-30 13:56:00 +0000 UTCThis sounds cool! I see a lot of “walking videos” in my suggestions of YouTube, making me think that there’s an audience for Go style videos that aren’t live. Heck, I personally go back and watch some of your old streams anyway. That lens looks nice. If you film some typhoonery, from a safe location, that might be cool footage. 8K is exciting. I mean, I don’t have a TV that natively plays 8K content, but YouTube seems to kill image quality anyway, so the super sampling in the end will still look really good no matter what someone is watching, especially compared to the regular old 720 streams.

I don't think ONLY in JAPAN GO will grow with just live streams if YouTube won't up the quality from 720p to 4K, they need to improve their encoding A LOT. But I can grow it with a mixture of 8K gimbal adventure strovies AND live streams :) so I won't ever stop that. I also think that the video I take in 8K will also be valuable in the archieve to reuse in main channel episode. 720p is not so useful.

2021-09-30 09:59:41 +0000 UTCIt's weird, if you buy the Rokinon which is the exact same lens from the US distributor, it's $100 cheaper! It's super light Alex - shockingly so and it's no GM lens but it is sharp as you can see. If used at f/4 it is not noticeably different to SONY lenses unless you do a scientific pixel peep. 18mm is wide enough that there's almost no distortion but you get a nice field of vision!
