Feedback Request! Quick Poll

Hey y'all!

I've been playing around with the idea of making extended or alternate versions of my YT videos available for purchase. For example, I might upload a massage role play to YouTube, but make an alternate version of the same video with rain sounds in the background available for purchase.

This feels like a tricky thing to do, because I would want the alternate, for-purchase videos to be something that genuinely adds value in some way, but without making the primary, free YT versions feel somehow "less than". Does that make sense?

One of my big concerns is regarding you all, my patrons. Your support means so much to me, and I wouldn't want any of you to feel slighted if I made videos available for purchase elsewhere without also making them available here for you. So, if I try this experiment, I could ...

A) Upload the alternate versions to the ad-free channel as well, as an additional perk for all patrons.
B) Upload the alternate versions to the ad-free channel as well, but only as a perk for certain patrons (like $3 and up, or something.)
C) Just keep it as a fully separate thing.

As an additional piece of info, I haven't yet decided on pricing for those alternate versions (it will depend on which platform I sell them through) but I'm hoping to keep it pretty low, in the $1–$3 range.

I was hoping that y'all would be willing to share your thoughts? You're all more than welcome to share any thoughts or ideas in the comments, but if you could at least let me know your preference between those 3 options above by answering the poll, I would super appreciate it.

Thank you!❤️

Love,
JB

A few thoughts, though I’m not an expert: I’d be surprised if $1-3 videos with extra sound effects created a lot of sales. “The first dollar is always the hardest”--I’d guess that most people will move on to another free video rather than pulling out their wallet, no matter how cheap the price. If I were looking to turn your videos into money, I’d focus on turning viewers into Patrons. Getting recurring subscriptions can add up to a lot, even if it’s only a few dollars a month, and you only need them to reach for their wallet one time. If you want to drive sales (or Patreon subscriptions), I might think about offering some subscription-only videos. Seeing the same video with background audio wouldn’t be very motivating to me as a viewer (I often have rain sounds playing in another tab anyway). But if I know there’s more content I can only get more by paying, it’s more compelling. That extra content doesn’t need to be at the same production value as your normal videos. Something like an extended cut, an alternate take with the same script, an improvised livestream, etc., would be enough to make it feel worth spending on if I liked your normal videos (which I do!). Thanks as always! We’re rooting for your success whatever you choose to do!

make the author video I sent you the script for. And I think you should charge whatever you want for it:-)
