The earliest versions are the following mechanism: when the key is placed in the hole, the spring is pressed and when the key is rotated, it touches the groove that is located in a certain place at each (or almost) lock and after bringing the key to the rightmost position, the lock opens. Therefore, when breaking such locks, you need to clamp the spring located in the middle, and only then try to look for a groove until your master key is bent or does not break at all.
