John, here in Canada we have ‘paid’ (not full amount) paternity and maternity leave - it is a financial hit - but it is also meant to gather yourselves and get used to a new normal - maybe take 2-3 weeks off and 100% focus on adjusting - we’ll be ok but will also be around anytime you need to have a cold one
