the thing that drives me nuts about the video player is you can't direct link to the video. you can only link to the reddit post that contains the video. the benefits of direct linking is when you text it to somebody they can usually play it in the messaging app without going to the reddit page. also, the reddit page can be confusing to old people so it makes it harder to send a video to my parents. there's a bunch of sites out there like redditsave.com which will extract the video for you to download, but it's a whole bunch of extra steps.
