Patreon Sponsored Video no.1 of 2019 / Tea
Added 2019-02-03 07:35:38 +0000 UTCFirst of all thank you for the support to make this series grow! Over the last few months, content has decreased a little as I redo the style and format of the series. We're nearly done! I'll update you on the animated opening in a week or so and I've found a couple of people to help with camera and production. Having a good system and team before starting is essential for long term success. Next up: Our Patreon Sponsored Episode! Every year I take time to plan and make a special episode totally funded by Patreon. Past episodes have included Aogashima, Abashiri, Ogasawara and next up ...
Working on a Green Tea Farm in Spring.
I've started to plan this one and it means staying for a longer period of time to get a bigger story. I am still taking other suggestions but it has to be big in focus.
Because I got sick, I wasn't able to go to the furthest points of Hokkaido this winter.
In summer, I will also do another all Patreon episode and trip which includes behind the scene live streams and photos.
You're support has also played a big role in the new animated opening and it's going to be fun taking the first steps into a new series shortly!
Thank you again from the bottom of my heart! Leave a comment / suggestion below as well.
Our first Q&A of February will be next weekend!
Sincerely, John

John, there's nothing that I can say that has already been said, and better than I could have said it. My sincerest wishes for a bigger, better, and brighter future for you, Kanae and Only In Japan.

2019-02-03 20:05:24 +0000 UTCThere is SO much to love about Japan and you have shared those special things with the world! Your work is professional and your passion is sincere and honest. You are also kind to everyone and seem to have a well balanced view on life. Success comes to those who work hard and those who work with authenticity. So happy for you and your success and know that you will continue to increase in popularity!

2019-02-03 19:49:13 +0000 UTCMy hope/suggestion is that you'll put some focus on Shikoku in the future if you get the chance. It's great that you venture into Kyushu and Hokkaido, all around Honshu, and even remote islands - but poor Shikoku is so overlooked (by everyone), and really deserves far more attention than it gets. Please sir ;-)

2019-02-03 15:57:50 +0000 UTCHey John! From the sunny warm Grand Canyon State of Gilbert (Phoenix) Arizona USA. My wife and I LOVE your YouTube Only in Japan & Go channels and we are faithful watchers. My first trip was in 1976 at 10 years old with mom dad and older sister. Recently my wife and I had our 20th wedding anniversary after a 15 day repositioning cruise Vancouver to Yokohama and Tokyo Disney Ambassador Hotel last October. It brought back so many wonderful memories. My Christian LDS Mission President was was born and raised in Japan Elder Yoshihiko Kikuchi. I loved that great leader and he has influenced me to get to know Japan we want to plan another trip again. You and your wife are so wonderful and you are such nice people. We look forward to all your future content thank you for your family friendly content and your great work. The Martin’s.👴🏻🧓🏽👨🏽🎓👩🏼🎓 ‘

2019-02-03 10:24:39 +0000 UTCHi Robert, that really means a lot to me that my videos had a positive effect :) I don't think I will alter the music much. I kind of want to keep as much of the past as I can. Japan does this too ... modernizes but doesn't forget where it came from. I'll be testing the music as well here on Patreon.

2019-02-03 09:23:44 +0000 UTCI am going to miss your intro music and animation! A few years ago, I started suffering from a thyroid disease which caused anxiety and depression due to the massive amount of thyroid hormones I was flooded with. That is when I found your videos, and they helped me through a difficult time. To this day, when I hear that intro, I can feel myself becoming calm and relaxed!
