We're coming to Japan in November for two weeks, just buying a train pass and jumping on trains with no real plan. Can't wait to see the autumn leaves this time! I'm trying to think of a question :)

I think if you structure it this way you will in the future become the premier goto channel for tourists coming to Japan and surely get more attention from Japans tourism bureau!

If this question isn't to personal I would like to know if there was a point in your 20 years in Japan, where you wanted to quit everything and go back to your home in the US? Looking forward to your upcoming road trips, because we have yet to see you put that driver's license to some good use. It would be interesting to visit those Road Stops along the way that have local markets, vending, machines, etc. I've seen a documentary on NHK that covered them and I was amazed.
