I am a Hello Kitty fan when the Sanrio store hit my neighborhood when I was a kid in the 80s. I admit to going to the 2014 Hello Kitty Con in Los Angeles just to partake on the hip and cool Hello Kitty in the 21st century. Hello Kitty is something that I associated with being Asian way, way, way before Mattell introduced Barbie dolls in various ethnicities.
