Omiya Bonsai village is close by you (easy to schedule!) and is a very interesting idea, dating from after the great Earthquake of 1924. Just thinking about it, but earthquake preparation would be a good episode. Maybe concentrating on local neighborhood and individual household preparation. I would like to thank the people who had recommendations for my trip to Japan. I have a plane ticket and hotel reservations for 16 days late February and Early March! It is when I can go and maybe fewer crowds. Thank you for your videos that really inspired me for doing this trip!

2018-09-30 11:33:27 +0000 UTCHey John, my question for the stream: I'm on the verge of moving to Japan, can you recommend some areas within the greater Tokyo area or surrounding prefectures to live in (renting) which are no more than 1 hour or so train ride to central Toyko but have a peaceful Japanese countryside feel ? Wife is Japanese and has a preference for Tokyo's vibe and its work opportunities, but I'm far more drawn to Japan's countryside and nature. Looking for a compromise ;-) Thanks.
