Tuesday Taylor Update - Oct 16, 2018 - Building Version 10!

Hey guys -

It's been about a week and a half since V.9 was released and it seems like most people really liked it! A lot of time and effort went into it, so I'm really glad it was well received. Thank you to my new patrons and to those of you that have been riding with me for a while now. It's great to have everyone here aboard! Now I'm hoping to ride this positive momentum into Version 10!

I've been busy writing the dialogue and starting the renders. For those of you that are new here, the game outline is done and with the exclusion of minor tweaks here and there, we're working our way through a journey that I've had outlined for a while. Every new update consists of writing the dialogue that fits the outline, creating the visuals to go along with the dialogue, then making the sure programming behind it all works correctly. Easy enough, right?

Based on what I've done so far, this is going to be another decent sized update, with a couple different endings, depending on decisions you make within the game. Alternate endings/scenes are the most fun for me to make (and play), but also take the longest to create. I hate to put a timeline on it this early in the creation, but we're still a few weeks away from V.10. Right now, the dialogue is about 70% written, and I have 14 renders (images) complete. I don't shoot for a specific number of renders per update, I create what I think will visually tell the story, but the average is probably around 150 or so. If we extrapolate those numbers a bit, the rendering is about 10% done right now. Obviously, once the writing is completed, there's more time for me to spend on the visuals so those get done at a fast pace toward the end of creating each update. I'll check in at the same time next week and hopefully by then I'll have a better idea where this update stands and what the timeline will be.
