I've been dealing with chronic pain from neuropathic thoracic outlet syndrome and flare ups can get so bad I get nauseous/vomit from the pain- even from the slightest, wrong movement (it sucks because staying in bed makes it worse but moving also hurts). I can barely hold down even "nausea friendly" foods like saltine crackers or apple sauce, let alone painkillers. I didn't care to look up the science behind it, I was in too much pain and was trying anything lol. Even if it was placebo, I was in too much pain to not want to believe it wouldn't work. It wasn't just incredible pain, but not being able to eat for a few days, too.
