They faked the husband's death and the funny partwas how long they were all playing into it. They had tapes of her confessing how much she wanted her husband dead to the uncover cop posing as a hitman already, but they were all like, "ma'am we have ufortunate news about your husband😢." They kept up the act during interrogation, even when they brought their undercover guy in. They eventually revealed her husband was still alive, but even when it was very evident that she tried to get a hit on him, she tried to gaslight him by saying, "I saw what you saw [tapes of her and the undercover cop making the sale] and I'm saying it's not true."
