Sadly, there are other cases just as horrific (maybe more, depending on your perspective) as Junko's case. I swear in about half the true crimes I listen to, there's always incompetent cops, dumb juries, dumb laws, or dumb lawyers, and sometimes a dumb judge. It's those cases where the crime itself was horrible enough and then it somehow gets worse or it feels like nothing was really done to help the victim or to punish the criminals. They also kept her for MONTHS (They kidnapped her in November 1988 and finally killed her January 1989). They also barely got time (it ranged from 4 - 17 years) and the court wanted to protect their identity because they're underage, but these journalists were like, "yeah no fuck that everyone should know their faces."
