Germany did host the 1936 olympics and and one of the gold winners for the US, Jesse Owens (he was black) said that hitler showed him more respect than the president of the US at the time. (I’m not sure how accurate this is). I also saw that the Jewish olympians for the US weren’t allowed to participate
