I think she might sound different because the producer was also trying to make an album that actually suits her voice (2012 pop), which in the past hasn’t been the case, and of course there is lots of layering and effects, I think it does sound like her but just with a lot of heavy productions. She also might have had a vocal coach on this album ~ that’s my theory :)

Plus, if I were to play the songs without knowing it was her, i would not immediately think it was jisoo. Idk... Not hating and glad she's doing her own thing. Still proud of her ❤️ Don't hate me please lolz

That's why she must sound different to Chris, since she knows which vocal directions suit her voice. Also the producers who worked with her confirmed on twitter it was Jisoo who sung all the high notes in this album. Only in earthquake did Sara, one of her co writer do some background vocals. Jisoo and the rest of Blackpink have never sounded this good while still being in YG though.
