As a kiwi Rugby League player, I think its pretty rare. Things like hair pulling, rubbing mud in the face(on wet days) and eye gouging are a lot more common.

i think in guys AFL and rugby people talk about shoving a finger up the butt way more than it actually happens but people do do it (hehe puns) to throw the opponents off their game. idk how often it happens tho it my happen more often that i think. can a fellow aussie confirm/deny?
