Airi was chosen as a member to debut. she was apart of the final line up. Mascara was supposed to be their debut song and she was on the song, as well as apart of the choreo. She was cut last minute. There are many theories as to why but one that i see often is that the other members relied on her too much and Simon wanted everyone to be able to stand on their own. you will see in the next ep that some of the members were lost after she left and had to adjust

2024-11-19 16:26:41 +0000 UTCAnd I get that you think that they could do 2 groups or even make a 10 girls group, but yeah this is a business in the end, if it was up to Simon he would probably have done that, because he took care of Hikaru, Airi and Rei after they droped out, he did everything he could so they could find a new project afterward, not many CEO would do that if none. That worked for Hikaru, so they see each other from time to time. Airi and Rei said that they were still in touch with Simon. Even if they didn't have as much sucess as the other, Airi is a soloist in Japan now and Rei did a competition to join a group under Jackson Wang company

2024-10-21 11:47:26 +0000 UTCYou guys should check out "XTRA XG #46 (XG 1st WORLD TOUR “The first HOWL” LANDING at OSAKA Behind) sometime, think you would find it interesting specially after watching some of their documentary. It's personally my favorite behind the scenes videos from them. Really amazing to see how much creative freedom these girls have and how much they contribute from start to finish, they are involved in everything. So refreshing to see in this industry also the fact that the girls are allowed to get "taboo" stuff--Chisa's neck/back tattoo, Jurin's septum piercing, Maya's belly button ring and ofc Cocona with the buzz cut, I have NEVER seen that kind of freedom in K-pop or any -pop adjacent for an idol group
