Kids are smarter than you think. When does a persons foundation get built and are most influenced? When you're a kid. You won't change shit if you try to deny them the chance to have proper foundation.

That's the problem, the facts in school come with American viewpoints. Not individuals. That's what CRT is for. I think you are confused.

It's not that JK guys aren't smart, they are just bias from being comedians who have been cancelled too many times. They just need to stop instantly being anti-pc with every article and actually critically analyze without bias. That's why Shan was a bright spot, but that's how much power of influence JK has over their team members. Every one is anti-pc except for Tiff, she is actually way more balanced now though. She is still a bit of a PC pusher but she chooses her battles now.

Casey is the biggest sheep, he gets so confused about how to answer and or even ask a question, he used to figure shit out himself, now he just attacks anything PC right away. The whole JK is big on context except when it negatively affects their stances. Shan is a beautiful beacon that shines with real unbias comments. Glad she is here to teach these "comedians" about being overly anti-pc. What happened to balance?

Nah it’s pretty bad

CRT is actually very interesting and informative, just has a bad rep from people who haven’t studied it
2021-05-20 23:00:39 +0000 UTC
This was poorly explained and biased but at the same time it’s comedy so it’s cool. reminder to viewers to pls do your own research before forming an opinion. Jknews is entertainment not 100% actual news !!

One of my favorite teachers, was my world history teacher from high school, he was an okay teacher but the fact I asked him why he switched to teaching world history and not the traditional choice of European History that the school always provided, as he gracefully put, but I forgot was along the lines is a caucasian view of the world is too archaic and we should evolve to be more inclusive. Traditions and Encounters was one of my favorite text books. It really did well in taking the critical parts of past civilizations to show how modern day is shaped. Critical Race Theory just has negative connotation with todays society's feeling on the word race.

Casey didn't explain the right definition of CRT.

Honestly CRT sounds regressive. The schools want to teach my child that because they aren’t white they have no chance of succeeding in life? How about just teaching kids that the color of their ski does not matter and not be so obsessed with race. Cause growing up the only race that mattered were the ones we ran and couldn’t win. Let’s go back to that
2021-05-18 13:11:18 +0000 UTC
This was super one sided and sort of misunderstood. It is actually more what Joe was saying, it’s teaching kids that there are creators that contributed to society from all over, and not just teaching from a Eurocentric perspective. They aren’t about to go to schools and say white are people bad. It’s just teaching history from more than one perspective.

i rather hear what a smart foreign guy thinks vs what jk guys think on this matter...

Yeah I think CRT is a good thing but obviously who knows if there’s teachers who don’t actually know how to bring it up well.
Making it known that yes, America was built with slavery, was controlled by Europeans and oppressed other groups, and the fact that it didn’t all of a sudden stop when slaves were freed or when jim crow was abolished.
If your group of people have had a huge hinderance for hundreds of years and then said “lol you’re free to do whatever now”, you’d think it would still take a lot of time for things to get equal, people don’t have family wealth to give down, not enough education. And for example in my country, Finland, you absolutely have the privilege of never having to think about race, racism and how it affects non-white people, and that should be talked about, how we are ignorant to racism here. Doesn’t mean white people are bad, but just need to be told an another perspective.

This entire video is based on a false premise of what Critical Race Theory is. What's even the point of commenting or criticising something without the actual idea of what it is? No wonder Joe was so confused because Casey was just giving a dramatised, false, one-sided view of it.

We're just a product of colonization from people hundreds of years ago. In the West its more European influenced because British, Germans, French, Dutch colon-ized (pun intended) the Americas and Africa. The East shows the effect of China/Mongolia's colonization of the East, hence why Japan/Korea share similarities in food, culture and written language.
In the end... all humans we're a clusterfuck of some conqueror who died hella long time ago, gotta let this shit die with our great great grandfathers.

Most of American US history was written to glorify White America and only lightly mentions minority hardships and truths. It leaves out too much of authentic history and now we have white people mad because they think learning about ethnic minorities is "hating on white people." History books and curricula need to be rewritten.
2021-05-18 01:42:48 +0000 UTC
I don't think the point of Critical Race Theory is supposed to be taken as, "let's hate on white people and make them look bad" like how it looks like some people are taking it. There is a way to properly teach about racist history, privilege, and oppression and have kids think critically.

Its literally the internet disguised as kid friendly content, indoctrination is the works, Disney is the master at that
2021-05-17 22:54:19 +0000 UTC
I think the idea of Critical Race theory is sound. It’s teaching that racism exists and teaching children to critically think about how race is a prevalent topic in the States. If done correctly of course. The history taught here is white washed and doesn’t allow young people to get full understanding of what actually happened.

No offense, but that's a load of crap
Doesn't matter how many times you repeat that lie, it will not be true.
Doesn't it strike you as far fetched to argue that policing in modern day is imbued with the spirit of southern militias tasked with tracking down slaves?

My friend's 5 year old answered the door and shouted to her dad "daddy, the chocolate face man is here" and they were so embarrassed. They apologized and were wondering where she learned that.

imo just teach the kids the facts and help them form their own conclusions instead of forcing them to think certain things. we don't HAVE to be a hive mind 😂

The Crypto Guys should have an emergency meeting and discuss what Elon Musk is doing to Bitcoin & Doge
2021-05-17 17:21:22 +0000 UTC
Or for example how the system of policing in the US began as a means of policing slaves (slave patrollers) and then minority communities during Jim Crow.

I think this is an issue of theory vs implementation. Teachers are already overworked as much as it is. To ask them to learn and frame their lessons in a completely new way, essentially teaching on the fly, a subject they probably don't completely understand themselves, is ridiculous. Like Nick said race is very contextualized and nuanced, it can be hard to teach others if you don't understand it well yourself. I personally support CRT curriculum in our history classes but I think its easy for anyone to simplify it as making white people ashamed of their heritage. When actually in practice its teaching about more than Copernicus or Pythagorus, but also Arab scholars who contributed so much to the field of math. Or teaching students about how Abe Lincoln and Lyndon B Johnson didn't end racial division and oppression. There were and is a period after such major legislation that continues to oppress people of color.
2021-05-17 17:02:21 +0000 UTC
History is for sure one subject that needs a redo as far as the curriculum goes
2021-05-17 16:29:40 +0000 UTC
Maybe if they just teach history correctly we wouldn't need this. Cover everything the correct way and stop trying to cover the bad stuff.
2021-05-17 15:51:03 +0000 UTC
I think it's important to teach kids about race from a young age becase at age 6I was already internalizing all the comments people made about my looks. I'm black and I'm sure kids that are part of a majority group do not have the same experience. It is important for kids to know these things and it's important for them to learn at an early age.
2021-05-17 15:40:04 +0000 UTC
agreed

I think it’s good to just learn what critical race theory is and just learn about just different schools of thought like Marxism and social conflict theory and what the basics of each but I don’t think they should be forcing kids to believe in any one theory and I think kids in elementary school are probably too young, in my university class, people struggle with stuff like this
