The more true crime you watch, the less hope and faith you have for the justice system if that hope wasn't crushed already. Half the cases I listen to involve cops, detectives, lawyers, or judges (usually, the cops :/) that are completely incompetent or dumb. There was one case in Russia that involved a serial killer, but for a while, they didn't want to admit they had a serial killer for "public image."

There's a similar story (told in the 13th Documentary) where they were trying to pin the SA of this woman on this guy. They were so convinced that he was guilty and didn't do any outside work, so they were basically manipulating the situation to frame him. There was one time where a person was asked to point to someone in a line-up and whenever they pointed to the "wrong" person, the detective would make them point again.
Turns out the guy they accused of SAing her was her boyfriend at the time, the real culprit was someone she had the misfortune of running into after she spent a night at her boyfriend's house. They haven't spoken in years, so when they showed a picture of the "culprit", it was really a recent picture of her ex that she didn't recognize. It was this other guy (could've been a detective or PR, I don't remember) that showed that the police put the wrong person in prison.
