Bart wasn’t saying they can’t use a gym but rather it’s unreasonable to sacrifice valuable space that holds leg equipment for someone who can’t use their legs. Plus that how often would those people even be regular patrons compared to the number of people who “sacrifice” for it

I didn’t even notice Joe was there until I read the comments lol

There’s a dog/pet friendly option on the Uber app, I’m not sure how long it’s been there but definitely over a year or two

I think an option in the app that shows it easily if the ride is ok with dogs/service animals would be great, people who can’t handle dog hair or are allergic would know there’s a possibility for that to happen, go with someone else. Also having an option where they can alert the person that they have a service dog. Also, either the rides would have to be more expensive or maybe give some kinda tax breaks? That’s something we do a lot in Finland, if it’s something that could lessen the burden on the government by giving a lil bit back to the driver, in exchange to maybe being able to scale down some other disability transport services. I’m disabled and at least here, disability specific services can be really weird sometimes, I much prefer normal services that have accessibility.
Also, there’s a huge amount of reasons why someone in a wheelchair would go to a gym and that’s why you should accommodate it, so many places already don’t, just because they can’t use one specific thing doesn’t mean that they shouldn’t be able to go there, they might just go there for one machine and should still be allowed in.

Joe, my friend.. Are you okay? You haven't said a word on this episode.

One time I was dogsitting for someone and took uber at the time. I put in the bio that I had a dog and my profile picture was temporarily a picture of her, so it's nice to let them know. I also brought a towel with me for the dog to sit on. But refusing someone who is disabled is kinda weird... If you're allergic and that can affect how you drive, that's fair, but refusing someone service because you're going to be temporarily inconvenienced and you "don't want to deal with it"?

I just recently got into a Lyft as a rider and I didn't even know the person had a service animal until I was getting into the backseat and there was a dog in the trunk area. I personally don't have a problem with that, but a lot of people get freaked out by dogs. Especially big ones. So it would be nice to have a service that tells you what you're getting before you accept the ride or before you accept the rider. We should all know what we're getting ourselves into beforehand. Isn't that just common curtesy?

I worked at the Uber office in 2016 and they did indeed tell the employees to tell the drivers to talk their way around it. It got so bad that a lot of drivers got permanently deactivated for denying a service animal. Animals bc riders would bring pigs, bird snakes and call them service animals lol

For the wheelchair in a gym, Bart is forgetting some people in wheelchairs are permanently paralyzed. There are those who are trying to walk again. Denying a person with a service dog just because of some dog hair? That's a pretty pathetic excuse. This mother fucker is blind for life, you only have to deal with the dog hair for how long? I don't understand how you can compare the two.

I’m visually impaired and I take a bunch of Ubers/Lyfts everywhere and I do know that they do offer an option for a more ADA friendly car ride option but I think it’s more catered for those who are in wheelchairs. I’ve never personally taken it bc that shit’s way more expensive, but I do think having the option to give the driver a heads up about a service animal coming on board to their cars would be great. and honestly I wouldn’t mind paying a couple extra dollars to have a guaranteed ride, instead of being cancelled on and having to scavenge for a driver
