you know there's kids with neurological disorders like autism, and ADHD or sensory issues who can't de-escalate like a normal child would and assuming all kids are just troublemakers is ignorant as hell. I've seen a lot of kids fall through the cracks and labeled as a bad kid because nobody every considered the tantrums, being overwhelmed, yelling, hyperactivity might be something else entirely. I mean idk about this kid but you can't argue with a kid. Like Tiff said you can't go down to their level of immaturity. You're an adult and you have reasoning, they can't get the best of you. They dealt with this child in a poor way. You don't argue with a damn child.

Its actually the best play she could've done, if she admits to hitting the kid at home. The child will be taken away, however she now is suing so $$$

I don't think they were laughing because they thought it was hilarious and the kid was in a "funny" position, it looked more like they were laughing at the cop, his behavior, and how ridiculous the situation was. They even commented on how dumb the cop looked.

Being a substitute teacher man I feel like I deal with a screaming kid at least once a week 🤦🏼‍♀️🙄 there have been moments where I wanted to be that cop and yell back.

I work with this age group and honestly the cops were assholes just as much as the child was one but he's a child. I think originally his crying was just because that's what kids do but by the time he was back in that office the child seemed actually afraid. But hey we'll never know.

I grew up in a situation where my own mother yelled at me 2 inches from my face, as well (when I would cry). I was never abused, in the traditional sense (emotional is a whole other category), but my mother had a quick temper and would whoop me, when I instigated it. I will say that I had a horrible attitude, even as young as 3, and would milk things as long as I could. I would cry until I ran out of breath or passed out. So the beginning of the video did not strike me as odd or rude. Just firm actions to get this child back into an assumed safe space. However, I find that the officers' response to the child was unprofessional and not called for once they were back in the school. The anxiety this kid had, just wanting this situation to be over with...poor guy. I really think this child needed extra love in that situation. Definitely let them know that certain behavior is not necessary but don't let them feel alone. There's a reason and a root to the behavior, don't abandon them and make them feel like they're the only one on their side. Teach them how to act. I also find it hard to judge from the video, about the child's situation at home, which is where "bad" behavior sometimes starts. Not saying that something bad is going on but maybe there's a change in structure or environment. Kids don't have the same capacity as adults to control their emotions, and shouldn't be expected to 100% of the time. So when there's a disruption in their normal life situation, it can influence their mood.

The cop should've yelled, "stop resisting!!"

If you don’t raise your kids then the streets will, that could mean an older cousin or even more likely neighborhood friends who are already down a bad path.

You guys have never been around a kid who will not listen. A kid who grew up to fast and no he doesn’t respect his parents or elders. My little cousin will cuss anyone out in public and his parents don’t care they let him do what he wants, he’s also aggressive and a troublemaker. He doesn’t care if you scream at him he’ll laugh and do worse. I don’t think it’s bad to scare the kid straight, specially if the mother was okay with it. It only looked as bad as It did because the kid was crying so much, it was all a tantrum though because he still wouldn’t listen. People need to back off and stop being overly sensitive. First you couldn’t discipline your kid with spanking and now you can’t even shout at him. What’s next, kids are gonna be thugs by middle school if we don’t get kids in check. I also don’t condone actual beating of kids because I was beat and wouldn’t want anyone to experience that but being spanked isn’t the same as being beat with a wire or a branch of a tree. When I got beat I listened because I was in panic there was no other choice, this kid still had the guts to not listen even after being yelled at. He’s just a bad egg who needs love

In high school when I was a senior I had a super strict teacher but she was a good person you could tell she meant well. One day a kid was being disruptive and the teacher called him out, the kid picked up a desk and threw it at the wall and told the teacher “no one fucking likes you” and she legit started crying. Some people are heartless

When I was in High school (9th grade) one of our teachers got so mad about people talking she snapped a clipboard in half over he knee still kept using the same clipboard for the rest of the year. She was very much a bitch.
