Totally disagree on this episode. At 13 you know right and wrong. you know lying has consequences. ESPECIALLY being in a religion like that and lying to your father to appease him you know what you were doing. Its seems like she's been raised very religiously so I know she's been taught that way too. But say she didn't know he was going to die she knew SOMETHING would happen and so did the father. Im sure they know they have extremist throughout their religion. Its the same with Emmett till. she LIED and got a child killed. There's no excuse for that ESPECIALLY at 13. At the end of the day the teacher respected their religion and told them to leave the room if they weren't comfortable but her friends chose to stay and whos fault is that? Not everyone is the same religion and some people would actually like to learn about these things. They shouldn't be stop just because one person who wasn't even there is against it.

This teachers murder was horrific and should be condemned completely. There is no justification. Just to clarify: it is not an Islamic extremist mentality to be unhappy with the depiction of Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon Him) nor God (Allah). Whether you are super religious or not, one thing the majority of Muslims will agree upon is that God tells explicitly not to draw, imagine or create statues/pictures of God himself or any of his Prophets including Prophet Mohammed, Prophet Musa (Moses), Prophet Essa (Jesus) etc, peace be upon them all. There must be a line between freedom of speech and hate speech.

I don't understand why the non-racists have to be the bigger person when they are the victims. Why do we have to go out of our way to quell their ignorant hate? I think the girl made a mistake that will haunt her for the rest of her life and there is consequences to lying. But the father’s reaction to thinking this was true and raising awareness against hate speech is sad because he didn’t do anything wrong. He probably wanted to get people to protest and maybe as an extreme get the teacher fired but this killer acted on his own. People just love to hate on Muslims and not realize how much the media demonizes us for their political gain. Yet when crazy people act from different races or religions they somehow don’t represent everyone but for us these people according to media always represent us.

Honestly, I say execute the girl and her father. Sorry but I don't buy that she had absolutely NO idea that was a realistic out come, especially in France where the Hebdo attack took place. The father DEFINITELY knew what could happen with that complaint and it's only a question of did he intend it that way or even conspire with it. To me this is closely akin to that white woman who admitted on her death bed she lied about about a black kid sexually assaulting her resulting in his lynching (My brain keeps saying Tamir Rice, but I'm almost certain that was a different story). At the very least life in prison, but I truly don't understand that concept as a whole either.

let's not be apologetic toward emotional and irrational responses toward behaviours you do not agree with. There are many slurs that evoke the same feelings but no one would justify a violent reaction against their usage. In the same wise, how many blasphemous depictions of Jesus are there and no one would justify violence because of it. This girl knew the kind of egregious acts she was (falsely) accusing someone of, to a religious sect with a history of acting in violent accord with their scripture, and to be shocked when some zealot responds . . . I am sorry, but I do not see how you can be apologetic to this sort of behaviour.

Yeah first of all joe, he didn't die because of freedom of speech, he disrespect the religion, people won't understand dissrespect when it comes to religion, but if you go to the hood and say the N word to an african-american you could get shot and nobody says "yeah freedom of speech" lol dont make it a double standard juste because you dont understand things.
