Did Californians Get Conned Into Voting for Prop 22? (ft. Hok)

This is really interesting to see because I've seen both sides of this come out. I currently deliver and shop for Instacart and UberEats and personally like the benifits that I see under this Proposition passing. In fact that we get more money under Prop22. I personally work full time hours on both apps combined so I see a weekly raise of $200-350 dollars (because of our new guaranteed earnings) depending on the week. Uber and Instacart have also offered a health stipend to help us cover medical expenses. Now I'm pretty young and don't know how these benefits compare to different companies so I personally do see it as these corporations trying at least a little bit to satisfy the drivers. Do I think these apps are perfect in the way that they operate behind the scenes and the base pay that they offer drivers/shoppers? HECK NO! That definitely needs to be fixed. But, I do believe that the passing of Prop 22 was a net positive when it comes to the benefits that we as drivers/shoppers received. Sorry for the essay, but I just wanted to get my opinions out.

Can you link the articles here like you do on YT?

we knew this would happen before the election, that's why the percentage was so close. But yes, the brainwashing and the pushing of the prop and drivers not fully knowing the difference was a problem

Hopefully Tesla owners who have HW 3.0 and paid for the full-self driving option can have their cars work for them within the next 10 years.

Or that taxi driver was an agent in disguise

iPhone: it worked earlier this morning (pacific standard), but now the videos will not load :/.

Steve - "When you said the proposition Passed, I got confused". Yeah, that's the goddamn point of those things. They are always intentionally worded so people who are for a certain position don't know for sure which way they need to vote. Also, a good rule of thumb as to whether a decision is good for the workers is to look at which way the massive corporation wants it to turn out. Uber and the others wanted Prop 22 to pass, because if it hadn't they would have had to pay their drivers more overall.

Does anybody else have the problem of not being able to see the videos on an IPhone but can see it on Android?
