same here, my sister has autism and she is 30 years old. she's just about the sweetest, most gentle person in the world. they're just like everyone else. only difference is they just need a little extra love and attention. i'm very over protective about her and seeing dumb ass shit like this boils my blood.

If she redoes the entire movie correctly I may give her a chance, but working with autism speaks is not it. How about we make a movie about mentally ill people by showing people they can be cured with a lobotomy? She can cast Ziegler, but at least a different role.

Sia working with autism speaks to make a movie for and about autistic people is like if someone made a movie for and about black people by watching Birth of a Nation. They have persisted in the idea that vaccines cause autism and they view autism as a disease. It's on their wiki, did sia even try to do any research? It's ironic that autism speaks "is the largest autism advocacy organization in the United States" but every single autistic person I've heard talking about them has so much vitriol and disdain for them.

Any 14 year old with a Tumblr account probably knows autism speaks is a hate group for autistic people. And even so, you could still look this up. With her status, she doesn't have an excuse. And to make it worse, she said she refused to create it unless Maddie Ziegler was in it, so it makes you wonder if her intentions were genuine at all. And Leslie Odom Jr.'s talents were wasted here. Everyone's was.

I really just don't see how there is any reason to excuse this. It's the modern age. I can research most anything and be able to have more of a clear idea about that subject than what was done with this movie.

My little brother is autistic so I attend online classes with him and his fellow peers. My brother and his classmates are the sweetest bunch ever!! It greatly disheartens me to see this uneducated bimbo make a movie in bad taste and unceremoniously downgrading the character of those in the community. I pray that they never see this abomination of a movie.

Sia did in fact consult with autism specialists ... to bad she went to the peta of the community. She went to an organization that has so much criticism and doesn't really care for autistics
