Yes, but she didn't own the brand. She may have owned it when she was alive, but its unfortunate the white owners gained profits off of her recipe and they are still gaining money to this day without attributing the mix to her name.

Aunt Jemima was a real person, her name was Nancy Green. She was born a slave and became free. Her pancakes were so well known that she wanted to share them with everyone. Her family is pretty upset that her legacy is being erased.
