LOL reminds me of this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLZA32oHbC4

I feel like he's responsible for the effect this would have on his students. like it's his responsibility to make his classroom safe. but I feel like the punishment doesn't fit the crime. he should apologise for sure tho. like he didn't do the right thing but he wasn't intending to hurt people

λ‚΄κ°€ (naega) is i/me while λ‚˜κ°€ (niga/nee-ga) is you

It sucks that this professor got reprimanded for doing nothing wrong. I feel like the students were projecting and wrongfully placed their anger on the professor because he was white and said a word that sounded like the N word, but he was just using a word from another language. When I saw the clip when the professor speaks I totally understood the context and the usage, but maybe I understood it because I know Mandarin and the usage of the Mandarin word made sense. I get that we're in sensitive times, but it's better to direct anger towards people who actually deserve it and not people like this professor. his article got me so heated. >__<

That's good to know as I recently switched to a yearly subscription to avoid unnecessary transaction fees plus take advantage of a discount for committing long term. Hopefully if you guys ever decide to quit patreon you give early notice so I can switch back to a shorter subscription period.

we had an issue with accessing patreon for a few days. it was unexplained. uploading several right now to make up for the lag.

Its been nearly a week and no new uploads πŸ™ƒ

Oh gooood these students are stupid af... I honestly don't think the professor needs to worry.. what he said was not in a bad context at all πŸ™„

Bro upload some videosπŸ’€

The crazy part is that this man was trying to educate

climate and media... steve went silent... he conflicted

when i say neige it sounds more like the n word

Korean here. The word Gina is looking for is "nee-ga" or "nuh-ga" for the word "you"

I am black and I can say that the teacher had no bad intentions... and if those students would open their minds and learn about other cultures and languages they wouldn’t be so offended... ie in my native language β€œBaka” means demons but I know that in the philippine it’s means cow and in Japanese it mean stupid.... people are to fucking sensitive 🀬🀬🀬🀬

Because some people are very sensitive and ignorant.

They talked about the word with David So before

Bruhh this makes me heated lmao dude was jus using a word in a different language obviously, how could ppl get offended by that?

The Korean word they're referring to is "λ„€κ°€" (which means "you") pronounced "neh ga", so yea it's pretty similar to the n word.

This is honestly American narcissism at its finest.

I've been into the Korean culture for years now and I learned the word early on because it's just a common word for 'I'. But it does make me laugh when people take offense. Like I'm not someone that just gets pissed about it, but it makes sense that people are. Every country is ignorant to another if they've never experienced other cultures or languages. It's not right for them to get mad without context, but America isn't the only ones doing it. It's pretty common in Korea now with how mainstream things are there. Some parts of Africa as well. To me things like this is inevitable, and instead of getting upset over it, it's better to just educate people. Mostly those willing to listen. The "N" word doesn't even come from America or Africa. It was a foreign word used for us. Then we started using it on one another. It's all about education. Educate yourself and others.

I think we need to start differentiating between 'book smarts' and actual 'intelligence' (critical thinking). Nowadays you don't have to be intelligent and smart to get into prestigious schools. You can be only book smart and tick all the standardized boxes to get in. Hence, there are many emotional kids without any critical thinking skills grounded in reality at colleges.

I get why they were triggered, but I agree with Joe that they shouldn't have punished him because they got upset.

I remember reading this article a month or so ago and was so disappointed. Professor did nothing wrong.

University kids can be super smart but still not think logically and instead act on crazy emotions. I know hella people who are super smart but also super emotional and sensitive. And that cheese nip example Gina gave was perfect. Like if someone said whenever I said cheese nip it triggered them I would stop saying cheese nip but I dont need to be punished for it. It’s more of a consideration thing for more sensitive people from that point on.

I know the crew is trying to be sensitive, but this is some straight pussy shit. These are fucking college kids crying about a word that sounds like another word. How are you gonna live as an adult when you break down over a simple misunderstanding.

They're still hoping to sell it, and the product becomes less valuable, if not worthless when its preemptively released...personally think its a dead dream thx to Covid.

Yeah, what happened to the movie?!
