The population of Sweden is much smaller than the US. To gain herd immunity roughly 70% of people need to be infected assuming no viral mutation. Accounting for a modest 1% mortality rate, would put the US death toll at 2.3 million deaths not counting the people who will suffer due to the strain on the hospital system after we "just let it rip". I'd rather work to keep the curve flat to ensure lives aren't lost due to reckless financial concerns. We pay into unemployment. We should utilize those resources while we devise a well thought out plan to reopen

I strongly believe it’s man made, it’s not just the scientist Geo talked about that said that. I’ve seen a researcher from France say that as well. That’s why I wouldn’t want to take the vaccine for this, there has to be something else in it for them. Why are they working so hard on a vaccine and not a cure?
