I hate to sh*t on Joes parade. But that "embargo theory" on why china builds the "train super highway" as he called it - or the new silk road as it is actually nicknamed - is really conspiracy bullcr*p. As someone who has a bit of experience in importing goods from china. The new train railway system is just a logical economical decision from chinas government. Because the two already established ways of transport have advantages but also disadvantages. Transport by airplane is fast (couple of days) but very expensive. Transport by sea is pretty cheap (that's the reason for all the super-container-ships) and demand is high. But it takes about 2 months until a container ship arrives in europe. Transport by train is a great middle ground solution. Because the price point is between air and sea and it takes only 2-3 weeks until arrival. They can also pack larger capacity than airplanes with super long trains (like in australia). Not everything revolves around th US and their president. 🤷🏻‍♂️
