The south in Vietnam is PREEETTY prejudice against other races. I went to visit my dad’s family there last October and it kinda sucked. I look Hispanic more than Vietnamese and my Vietnamese is REAL shitty so when I got lost and tried to ask someone where the karaoke bar was, everyone straight up would either ignore me or say “no speak, don’t understand” WHILE I WAS SPEAKING VIETNAMESE LMAO. They legit saw my face and just didn’t care what I had to say.

I got lost, alone, in the rural parts of South Korea and one of the bus drivers saw me, spoke NO English, but stayed with me until I got on the correct bus and helped me. And for the necro thing...how is that different from sex dolls though?

I've been living in Korea for almost two years and I always found the people to be really kind and welcoming. Seoul is foreigner-friendly, easy to navigate, and they can speak English (for the most part). I live somewhere more "rural" and in my experience, they are at times more friendly, but they usually don't speak English. You'll have an easier time living in Korea if you can learn to read hangul and speak some Korean. Also, there is a pretty large expat community here and groups you can join to get advice about living here.

my trip to south korea a few years ago was the complete opposite. i was more in the country/suburbans and on jeju, so i didn't get that city experience. i was also traveling with my korean family, so i think people just assumed i was a born and raised korean, so maybe that could have been part of their perception of me. it was a terrible two weeks, but i still want to go back cause i know there's so much more to explore and experience. i think it was just a very unfortunate experience for me lol.

I’m dark skinned & I find Japanese are a lil scared of me 😂 but Koreans are incredibly friendly & helpful, always wanting to try their English out on a foreigner.

I've been to S. Korea a few times. One time when I was a kid, this lady at a department store gave my brother and I these stuffed bears that were on display. For like no reason lol

S. Korea is full of nice folks. Was so confused on the subway station trying to find our stop and this elderly man lterally just took our hands and guided us all the way to where we needed to be and then said enjoy Seoul and we were so grateful lol
