The Grove Watcher

The grove watcher is an alien consciousness which possesses the canopy of trees, darting from one to the next. It's movement is 100ft, but it can only move to another tree canopy. The only way to survive is to burn down the forest, or get out of the forest.
Once it's forest has been destroyed, it doesn't die, but lays dormant in the remains of the trees. If any of the branches, or wood come within 100 ft of the tree, the grove watcher will be reborn.
As such, the branches once dormant are highly valued by arcane researchers and war wizards alike... if difficult to transport.
(Transportation procedure) Arcana DC 15: branches will stay dormant if kept completely wrapped in leather. The Grove Watcher cannot move through animal matter.
