WIP Wednesday! More Star Wars Fanart

In the Star Wars collaborative story I am participating in over at Spacebattles, I have a character named Jerec Syfardos, who is the son of a Jedi Ace Pilot named Irena Syfardos. Jerec has a girlfriend named Vian Pathwalker, which is actually another writer's character. I usually don't like to draw other peoples' characters because I feel self-conscious about getting them to "look right", but in this case the writer has already hired another artist to create a character reference sheet, which I used to create a picture featuring both characters.

Here is Vian in the fighting pose I decided to put her in. The character is also a Jedi Ace pilot and a fairly good duelist who came from a rough life on the streets of Tatooine, surviving as a thief to support her little foster brother. She thought she was a particularly lucky and skilled thief until it was discovered that she actually was Force-sensitive, and also had a knack for piloting. Her Master was Irena Syfardos, the aforementioned mother of Jerec Syfardos.

And what about Jerec? Isn't he important to this story, too? Well, of course! So I drew him too. His mother Irena didn't know she was pregnant with him (actually, she knew something was going on but she suppressed all her feelings --sort of a theme with her-- to devote to fighting the Yuuzhan Vong in the story as we wrote it). Later Jerec was captured by Sith who tried to turn him to the Dark Side and for a while they were partially successful, but eventually he pulled back although not without some difficulty.

In our story, the civilization that rebuilt after the final collapse of both the Empire and the New Republic have a Jedi Order that has abandoned the Ruusan Reformations from the Jedi Code, and Jedi can have relationships.

I put him in some Jedi-style armor plating like we saw from the Clone Wars TV series, when Obi-Wan Kenobi wore a sort of shoulder/back-and-breast plate with forearm greaves.

Here is Vian largely done with flat colors; all I need to do is add the shading and highlights. That will come Friday! She is an Echanni, if you're familiar with Star Wars they have white hair and specialize in martial arts.

So as mentioned, Jerec's mother was Irena Syfardos, and Irena was Vian's Master while Jerec was younger. Vian is about 8 years older than Jerec, but their relationship didn't start until well after he had returned from Sith captivity and grown up. Both being Jedi Pilots, they bonded over their connection to both Irena (as a Master and a Mother) and piloting.

Again, this is not going to become just a Star Wars fan page; I just wanted to experiment with some other stuff besides just BOHICA Blues. More BOHICA Blues will be back next week; I just have a lot of BOHICA Blues stuff done through the next couple of weeks so I wanted something else to share this week as I get ready in real life to pack up and rotate home from Kosovo.
