Tesla Gate Overhaul & Item Sorting Feature

Hello there! 

Today we want to discuss some information regarding the 11.0 update.

Last month, we revealed that the next major update will be dedicated to a complete overhaul of weapons. This includes the removal of all current weapon models, and replacing them with new, reworked ones. There will also be some new guns, and a complete change of all mechanics.  The weapons themselves will be thoroughly described next month, in a dedicated Patreon post. In the meanwhile, we've managed to finish the first two features of 11.0, which aren't that spectacular, but definitely needed. Let's take a look, shall we?


Tesla Gate

It has been a long-term goal of the studio to move away from CB assets. We continue to do so with every update, and this update is no exception.

The Tesla gate is an iconic object within the game. We've been working hard to create our own version of this piece of technology. Our team has created brand new sounds and visual effects.

Inventory Sorting Feature

Another change is a complete refactor of the inventory system. This means the scripts responsible for the inventory have been rewritten. Even though old mechanics will remain mostly the same, this has allowed us to include new quality of life features. For example, the previous system treated the user’s inventory as a simple list of items, with no ability to keep track of the order. The new inventory allows users to manually sort their items using a drag-and-drop mechanic. This resembles rearranging desktop icons on Windows OS) In addition, dragging an item outside the wheel will drop it (same as right clicking it). We’re also introducing a new hotkey which will allow users to throw a held item, as opposed to simply dropping it on the ground -- this looks similarly to throwing a grenade with the right mouse click.
