The Fabled Update

Hello there Patreons! It’s been a while since we have provided you with a more direct update. Today we would like to discuss a few details of the 10.1 patch and the fabled Halloween update.

To start us off with, let’s talk about the 10.1 update and what you can expect. As you may have already heard, this update will bring some needed balance changes and fixes to the Scopophobia update. We could not mention balance changes and not go into detail about 096, could we? So here are some things specifically about them:

Going into this update, the development team operated with the philosophy that SCP-096 was unbalanced but not overpowered. The reasoning behind this was how SCP-096 performed far too well against large groups of enemies and suffered little to no permanent damage. However, as long as it was in its vulnerable stage, 096 was easily killed by a handful of experienced players.

The goal is to have SCP-096 remain an enjoyable character for the duration of a round. This means that they won’t be as vulnerable against small groups of enemies, nor will they be too powerful against larger groups. With all of this said, we hope that you find SCP-096 to be more gratifying when 10.1 releases.

Let's move on to the Halloween update. We can finally confirm its existence and share a bit more about it. Upon playing the game recently you would have noticed some spooky decorations around the facility ﹘ these were implemented automatically. That does not mean that the Halloween update won’t change a few things.

Like the 2018 Halloween event, our SCP’s and Human classes will be getting a makeover. Most of the skins applied to the different classes are brand new and we can’t wait for you to see them. There might also be a fan-favourite making a special appearance. Models won’t be the only thing changing. Some creepy audio changes might replace a few well-known sounds, or be added where there were none. So keep your ears open!
