Girls Band Cry, S.1, Ep. 9 - The Waning Moon Was Out

I totally understand Tomo, but maybe there's a better way to encourage someone to practice hard?

Waiting for that snake to eat gave me flashbacks to high school when I watched a python for a friend. I would place the live mouse in with the snake for 20 minutes each day, like he said, but the snake never ate the mouse and died. I felt horrible. Wandervogel is German, it means wandering bird, but it is also the name of back-to-nature youth hiking clubs that spread from Germany to Japan in the 1930s.

I wish I had your thoughts and analysis for anime. Your understanding of every episode is (to me) flawless. And your explanation is fluid and easy for me to grasp. Like…honestly, I would love to have you sitting with me explaining EVERYTHING every step of the way. 😅

Living in the UK we also don't have air con in most homes (you'll get it in larger supermarkets and some offices, but it's not particularly a given anywhere else) and houses/flats are typically brick builds designed with insulation in mind so they retain heat. This week in particular has been hotter than usual, with highs of 30° Celsius or 86° Fahrenheit; but basically once you get up into the mid-20s we really start to struggle. My car has air con, which is a godsend, but my fiance's doesn't so I try to avoid driving hers in this kind of weather. Also in Japan it's not just the heat, but often also the humidity involved. If we're looking at the extended two week forecast in Tokyo right now, you're looking at a low-high temp range of 22-34° Celsius everyday, with humidity between 47-90%. With Tomo you have to factor in that although she's very serious about music and probably the most musically proficient/compositionally mature member in terms of technique and training, she's also the youngest and grew up as an only child with parents she couldn't depend on (hence moving in with Rupa who also acted as guarantor as an adult). She is utterly committed to making it professionally and has felt betrayed previously when other musicians haven't shown the same level of commitment despite promising otherwise. Rupa is basically the only person before now who hasn't let her down to some degree and so she has a really difficult time trusting people. In terms of the fictional ages of the band members within the timeline of the show itself for context: -Momoka is 20 -Nina is 17 (her VA Rina was even younger when she was first cast at just 15) -Subaru is also 17 -Rupa is 22 -Tomo is the youngest at 16
