2021-04-07 18:50:11 +0000 UTCNY, JY, and JH (along with 3 others) were scheduled to debut in a group called 6Mix. They had predebut press releases out and everything. But one of the girls quit, so JYP moved Sana to their team from the Japan trainee team (which might have been an earlier NiziU?). Then another member quit. So they were trying to find another replacement, but then they just scrapped the whole 6Mix concept and did Sixteen instead. The last remaining 6Mix member, Minyoung, was on Sixteen as well, but did not make it to Twice. That's who Jihyo was talking about regretting that a friend couldn't debut with them. When Minyoung was eliminated in the final episode Nayeon and Jeongyeon both turn towards each other right away, and Jihyo looks over at them all from the end of the line but kind of delayed from shock. We all love Twice the way it turned out, but it is emotional watching those three lose a member they had worked so closely with for so long. Just like how hard it was for Sana and Mina when Momo was eliminated.
