Vacation

Everyone have to rest sometimes and we are no exception :P

We'll take a break of two weeks to reload energy and comeback motivated as if it was our first day on this project.

Even so, every now and then we'll take a look here to check comments and answer possible doubts.

Well, we start every month doing a little briefing of what we want to do for the next alpha and we get into it. Usually Root choose some events for Xanazz and Useful Idiot to work on, and then he should work on the writing for the alpha so everyone else can start working on it. Knot gives Berserk some work about introducing events, until Root finishes the text, and then berserk start translating it. Knot, at the beginning of the month, usually works on fixing little thing left from the previous alpha and then starts working on the new features. Everything it's pretty normal and organised until this point. Useful idiot will keep working on observing events until the release of the alpha because he works with us with commissions but the rest of us always have to change our plans for the release. While Xanazz works on observing events we'll probably need icons, or ragdolls for the areas or images for the items and he will probably spend the rest of the month combining the images of the events with this work (also friendly arguing with Root about how the images must be done). Root will try to use the time planned to have a couple of animations and keep working on images but usually never end up working on what is planed because while Knot is programming, since it's not an exact science, we see during the month what could be done and what not until the release, and we redirect the work to the parts that can enter the release. Also during the month we are asked for reward images or animations from the tiers and he have to work on some of it to avoid have to much of this work in the to do list until it's too much to continue the proper development of the releases. Knot works on the parts planned but as said some take more work than we expect and we have to rethink our plans. Then someone tells on the comments unexpected bugs and depending on it's importance, Knot have to work on it. Sometimes are Knot already knew about that bugs... Root ask why they were not on the Known bugs list... Knot says he knew about them and since he had in mind to fix them it was enough... *Screaming in Spanish*. And Berserk while working on introducing events and translate the texts usually adapt his work to reduce the load of work of Knot to make the main development faster. Then, a week before the release, we do a new briefing and we decide on what we can work to make the alpha more playable and visual and the last two days we usually do a marathon of work to close the most features we can. And this is more or less a regular month for us. TI can't tell about the programming because I would not know how to explain it but the animations doesn't have much secret. We make the image drawn in pieces with photoshop and then we export it to flash. There we put the pices in place and move them, twisting, stretching and changing their size if it's necessary to make it look the better we can and once finished we add a frame by frame animation for the liquids. About the music, we don't make it ourselves, we use music from audionautix and from a friend, Midnightocean, from Newgrounds but right now we are working with a composer to make a new set list of music for the game. Hope this will give you a little picture of how is the work behind the scenes in Knotgames ^^
