A note from Beau

Well howdy there internet people, it’s Beau again.

I wanted to give it a few days before writing this. I’ve tried to write it a few times, but it just wasn’t coming out well. I can’t accurately express how much your continued support of the channel means to me. The team has been working on so many great ideas and they’re going to have the chance to put them into action because of y’all. The support you’ve given Belle as she finds her voice has been amazing. I’m not really supposed to be checking comments, but I might have accidentally looked over somebody’s shoulder once or twice. I don’t want to ruin all of the surprises the team has coming, but I’m certain you’ll love them.

I see them looking at the comments and smiling as they see how their various projects are coming together or how they’re improving and I love it so much. That was one of the things I lost somewhere along the way. They love what they’re doing and you all make it possible. As I said, I’m sure there will be growing pains, but I don’t think it will take them long to get more natural with delivery and approach.

I would’ve liked to hold out until after the election but it just wasn’t in the cards. I know many of you would like to know what my future plans are. I honestly don’t know yet. I don’t think I’m supposed to make any right now.

What we’ve done over the last few years has made me so proud, and they plan on continuing with all of the aid projects which really makes me happy. Again, I can’t thank you enough for your support: past, present, and future.

Belle wants to do a Patreon Q&A for y’all so drop your questions below.

I will see y’all around.

Hi Beau, many hugs to you for all you've done. You and Belle are my rocks in a crazy world. My WW2 Silver star Lieutenant Colonel father dropped hints in the 80s about what we're living today. My motto is never surrender. I wear a number 2 pendant around my neck to remind myself that although others may consider me second class, they know nothing. You will only see my comments here btw, as I'm done with being tracked on all other social media. Thanks again you guys.

Kathy Jura

Belle, one thing that Beau spoke about near the start of the Ukraine conflict was about the mathematical requirement to invade and hold a foreign population. I forget the exact number, but I think Beau said something like the study said you had to have one soldier for every 3 people living in the area being held. With statements Trump has made about using the military to silence people who dissent, I'm curious if those metrics would apply to a nation's *own* people or not? Hypothetically if Trump won and started using the military to deal with anybody speaking/fighting against Trump, would the US military actually have enough men to hold it's own territory if the country revolted?

LiviRivi

BELLE, you are amazing and you are doing an amazing job. Thanks so much! BEAU, I miss your presence so much but you made the right decision to step back and out. I have a suggestion for you to consider when the time is right. Once in awhile, please pick any historic moment of your choosing and teach us about it. You're good at many things but you are superlative at teaching history--telling the story and telling us why we should be interested and why it matters. It's just a thought, you have a good day.

Frances Wong

The voice may have changed but the approach and subject matter haven't...huzzah!

Charlie Newman

Beau, please keep weighing in. We need to know you're holding it together. And Belle, think about how you're going to avoid burnout. I love your digs at the other side, like "minor social media platform," and I think that helps us from too much doom and gloom. I do miss, however, the insights into what's happening in Ukraine. I worry that we're so distracted by the Donald and JD show that the fact that young Americans are joining the Foreign Legion to fight the Russians in Ukraine is getting lost. Anyway, it's just a thought....

Susan B Peckitt

Hiya Belle! I know that you and Beau are experienced with raising funds and probably transferring them. I’m hoping that you might be able to provide some guidance to a few friends and I. We all belong to a really old gaming group (over a decade for some of us) and have people in multiple countries, including both sides of the conflict in Gaza. We don’t talk politics and we are still very civil with each other. But this week, one of them had to leave their home for a slightly less involved country and they tried to donate their character’s items to the group as a whole because they feared they wouldn’t be back. We’re stubborn people and rather resourceful. We put their in game items in a trust of sorts and found a way to contact one of their family members. We can’t send money directly to help, but the family member already has a verified Western Union account. Which works great because our friend might say “no” to us, but they won’t to this relative. We’re trying to figure out a good way to send small donations as a group to this relative that lives in Canada. Bonus points for a method that can be used by people in Europe as well as North America. Do you all have any suggestions besides PayPal? We don’t mind PayPal, but are wondering if there is something else we would be better off using.

Amanda Barncord

I kind of saw it coming, TBH. You were doing a LOT of videos. And they had to be current. And I don't even know what else. I have had several run-ins with burnout and it sucks. And Belle is doing very well indeed. I catch up on her news briefs most days. I find that the responsibility to the truth here is superior to most mainstream media nowadays (an inevitable problem with big money and centralization).

Lunatics Project

Still missing your daily reports. I’m a MSNBC and CNBC Watcher, and your channel provides background Balance that one can’t get from Commercial media. Not surprised that you overloaded, I saw that coming a couple of years ago. A second and third Anchor totally needed earlier, but glad it starting to come now. ❤️

Robert Bess

Yes, Belle has a persona that's a bit different, of course, but I am really enjoying her take on things. She is a bit more direct than Beau, so I don't usually need to go looking for the story to know what she's talking about. That's fine.

Dorelle Rawlings

Beau and Belle - hope you and your children are fine - look forward to your postings (podcasts) once life is a bit more normal there.

Stephen de Vries

I miss this channel! Sorry but it was Beau's persona - his cadence, his expertise. Thank you for so much!

Thomson

I have a lot of Beau merch so my question is: when does the Belle merch drop? Really looking forward to it.

Joe Buck

I really appreciate everything that you've done to help educate people in the US and around the world, Beau. If there was only a way to get more of the maga types to watch some of your videos, I think you have a way of presenting yourself that would sway the opinions of those who listen to...for the lack of a better expression..."redneck wisdom." I don't mean that as an insult, I know what its like to be ignored or thought of as stupid because of the way I talk. People who get social anxiety like me, or sound like old uncle jeb educating the youngins can be incredibly wise (real wise not redneck wisdom).

Wheel Jork

Let the community here help you. I’m rooting for you and happy to respond to DMs. I’m not Beau, but I’ve done some things and learned a bit along the way. My wife is transgender so you can be assured that I’m welcoming. In the LGBTQ community, we often choose the folks who make our family. My parents were, fortunately, okay with my wife’s transition. Her mom not so much. So, my wife’s family is now mine.

I am in the "neurodivergent" crowd; meaning most of my life nobody ever diagnosed anyting, but people just step back and ... I see that. I know all my life I'm weird. So I'll just say this; the logical, reasonable, rational part of my brain understands why you stepped back. I still watch Belle and the content is still valuable; the information is the same, I love her delivery and her measured tone - - like yours. One of the reasons you always appeal to me is that I am the walking grenade in any conversation; I don't take any meds, I don't see any counselors, and I make no apologies for that. IN a world as fouled up as the one I'm on, anyone who takes issue with my anger/angst/profanity/rage ... they're fortunate, as far as I can see, that I would be the most disruptive thing in their day. I don't own a gun, have never thrown a punch, but I use profanity. Not sure how that affects mankind given all the rest I'm witnessing. _________________________ neurodivergent, right? _____________________ What I wanted to say is that the rational brain says you're off to heal and regroup. The part of my brain that despises the crowd that made "Q" famous; the kind of people who watch the truly bat-guano insane of YouTube as their daily bread (CatTurd, StyxHexenhammer666) - I'm married to one. She played coy when we met, and for over half our almost decade long marriage - we're still married, but estranged since 2022 - She went to Trump's rally near here, and I can't ever see her the same way. She's now taken that as license to go her own way - - - but she doesn't want divorce, doesn't want to move, took over my room - thinsk that is my fault for moving out - - passive aggression writ large, with a side of "well, you're the one who left", never acknowledging why. If she does "why are you tearing me down for making my own choices?" "Well, because the people at that rally you went to are planning to kill me in a civil war if I won't submit, OR - maybe worse than that - they just want to brag that they want to kill me and a lot of others in a civil war they have NO courage to actually fight, but they've got fools like you sending them money and reading their newsletter." The sound of rifle fire in my neighborhood...is not an unusual thing. I'm well within the lethal range of their guns; they just shoot in different directions at inert targets for "fun" and "practice". if they rotated their hips from where they stand and put the crosshairs on my house, they have a clean head-shot into any window of my house. This far outside the city limits - two miles from the center of town of 20,000 people - that is perfectly legal in my state. Until they actually kill me, they can fire at targets all day long and it's (terrifying, to be absolutely sure) - - but legal. I can even be cited for harassment if I call it in too often. (ask me how I know that." So - I dont' want to upend my wife's live and ask her to find an apartment when she's two years or less from retirement age. Then again, I've lost complete respect for her, and she shuts down/flips over like a pigeon-playing-chess any discussion of why; blaming it all on my anger.... never asking what I'm angry at. I feel like you've been kidnapped and silenced, Beau, and I miss you. But the rational part of my brain knows you're carrying as much as the rest of us, and you needed to go back to stamp collecting or ... whatever it is that is cathartic. I'm working in my wood shop - it's a work in progress with no productive output, just plans, just me trying to fix/improve/tidy to make it workable. Keeps me busy. I put Wi-Fi and a small digital TV from 2008 in a cabinet. Bought a streaming stick, and I go back through your old videos for "comfort food." You're on my "guys I wish I could meet, and know I never will." May you regather yourself; find the peace you need. It would be a gift to have you come back, but I lost my dad 20 years ago to the worst kinds of addictions; he indulged them until the day I found him dead. I know that work can be just as hard to put down. So I can't say I know anything at all about your life, or your situation. But I feel it within me; the burden we all carry that things are just too heavy, and nobody is even thinking about not piling on ... I'm with you in spirit, with Belle, with all of you out there who put together your feeds to us, because any lifeline to a team that is rational, sober, deliberate, calm, measured, constructive, funny (gotta love the "we didn't start the fire", play that once a week just to bring back the good times) - I have a lump in my throat since your'e gone. The rifle fire near here is nowhere what it was like during the pandemic; but it's still a jarring reminder any time it announces itself. Mostly ATV's now, and 900 HP showroom racers laying rubber up and down the highways; "Mad Max: The Home Game" Not sure of the wisdom of posting this. I have to be the only fool left alive using his real name on my profile. We're - I am - behind you, Beau; Belle - team - - Because the alternative is really something so awful nobody wants it, it's just he idiots and saps who are part of it are so dim that they don't know that. Just like all the other times humanity has acted out this same screenplay. We need the sober and astute voices like yours. Take care of yourself, no matter what. I care - we care - we're joined in the aether in the community of "those who can still see straight, since those who are too blind to see are so proud of it now that they're never going to look for it ever again."

what are wasps useful for other than being territorial and attacking people, dogs (my dog and my friend's dog got stung by it on their paws) and they do attack bees in their hives. i feel so bad for bees :(

beesnaps1

Wow, thanks for such a sweet info on bees :) I love bees. my email name can be interpreted as those you said above but it was supposed to be bee for b letter for my name bina and snaps were for photos = bina's photo to order photos from snapfish lol long time ago I used to order photo prints from that site. lol now, i have no time nor patience for that. haha sorry for the rambles.

Apparently this is the questions thread, so lemme post my Question for Belle: This channel has turned me onto foreign policy and how foreign affairs work in a big way. For the first time, when I hear people asking politicians for solutions overseas, instead of deciding whether I agree ideologically or morally I start thinking... ok, well how would that work and what would happen after? I *really* appreciate all the work Beau has done and Belle will continue to do to teach us scrubs about this! My question is, what sources (books/documentaries/podcasts whatever) do you recommend for learning on my own? I don't know how to vet them myself so I need a little help choosing which to focus on.

Zelbinian

Take care of you and thank you for everything. My husband and I think about you every day, are incredibly proud of the unparalleled, amazing work you’ve done educating and informing us (especially about climate related awareness and preparedness) and extremely grateful for Belle and the team. Sending you strong energetic healing vibes and remember to enjoy every moment you can savor with the kids. Ours are nearly adults and it goes so fast! We will continue thinking of you all every day. Please know we are with you energetically. 🙏🏼 Robert & Emanuela (FridaysforFuture) ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Question for Belle: Beau was able to reach some people because he doesn't exactly look or sound like the stereotype of an anti-authoritarian anarchist. There was an advantage in the way people leapt to conclusions based on initial impressions. What do you think are the mistaken conclusions people leap to about you, based on how you look and sound, and do you think there are groups you'll be able to reach in a similar way because of that?

Damien Weatherley

Question for Belle to answer in a future episode, "What is your favorite brand or style of Flannel Shirt?". I have seen you wear a few that look like the same Chaps shirts that I own and my wife LOVES to wear them.

Zardnok

I forgot to say how much your self awareness and willingness to change to create heal and Balance means in our pressured and crazy world! Here, here!

Carolyn

Thank you so much for making a place that makes sense of what happens locally, nationally and internationally! And for developing such a good team that is continuing and expanding on the foundation you created and nourished. All that and sharing your warm and wonderful wife with us who lets us “see” her more and more. Thank her for me too, please. Love watching her bloom on camera.

Absolutely. I liked to listen to Beau as I wind down for the night. It's nice to close my eyes and just listen. I never met my father or had any father figures in my life. I considered Beau to be one kick-ass dad! Wish I had had one. Thank you again Beau/Belle for giving so much of your life to us.

cindy jewell neeper

I replied to your wasp problem in the string above

cindy jewell neeper

Trēva. Wasps are territorial and will not make nests near other wasps. I haven't tried this but I just saw 30 wasps dive into my tomato garden. Anyway it is about shaping a brown lunchbag into the shape of a nest. Tie neck and hang for wasp free zone. I use a mason jar to return wasps outside.

cindy jewell neeper

"gobbledygook" 😂 hahaha love it!

Trēva

I'm just responding to the name "bee's naps”, but I'm guessing it's more likely "bee snaps”. I recently stumbled on a few articles about bees and napping (we have had a new wasp hive every other summer for years and I was looking online for a less toxic, more permanent solution than what the roommate and landlord have been doing). My apologies for interrupting. Yes, bees do nap throughout their day. I find it adorable to learn they nap in flowers too! Carry on.

Hi Beau, Belle and the team. I have been meaning to ask these questions for a long time. I have a friend from El Salvador and he was a victim of a gang member while he was in his country. Since Bukele's presidency, my friend and most El Salvadorians seem to support his work of arresting the gang members and keeping them off the street and reducing drugs and crimes. I don't blame him for supporting Bukele's work however, I do know it is extreme. El Salvadorians seem to think Biden's administrations don't support Bukele that's why he is close to Trump (showing up in RNC convention). Is it really true Biden administration doesn't help Bukele? Is Bukele doing the right thing for his country? How do I tell my friend that Bukele might turn into next Putin? Thanks so much for all you do!!! And I really hope Beau is resting and feeling better!

beesnaps1

Well howdy there Belle & Beau, it's an internet person again. I just joined the patreon for a year as a way to say thanks. I'm a gulf war vet who discovered your channel during COVID. I have a degenerative form of multifocal polyneuropathy from the nerve agent exposure in Desert Storm. Since I caught COVID, it has kicked the neuropathy into overdrive and I lose a little more function each day, but that's a bummer of a tale and not my purpose. Beau, at the risk of sounding like a pompous ass, I'm proud of you. COVID as a disabled divorced Dad of teens was difficult and your videos brightened my day. Now it's Belle how brightens them and I know it took a lot of inner strength to let go and step back. You have to put your needs first sometimes, my friend, and as men used to acting to help others, that's tough. I don't know you - just the persona you've crafted and shared - but I think we've seen enough of you in Beau to get a sense of the man behind the curtain. Buddy, you've done a damn good job and I hope that you are proud of your accomplishment here. So thank you. Thank you for being a level-head and kind voice during dark times. Thank you for the research and the news. And heck, just thank you for being a good human. I don't know if you will ever be back. If not, that's OK. The team is doing a great job. They're not you, but they are already coming into their own and finding their own voices. If you do come back, I hope I'm still here to see it. But if not, godspeed in life, good buddy! Well done! And if you ever do get to hit the road and pass through your northern neighbor, you and the crew always have a place to stay outside Atlanta. Take care of yourself and give that lovely wife of yours a hug from all of us.

Henry Warner

Not sure if this Patreon Q&A is still going but I'll ask anyway: Could you possibly do a video discussing the dangers of disinformation and misinformation and how they can quickly cause people who are already primed with hateful or misinformed views to cause violence? Recently here in the UK we had a series of riots after a stabbing in the town of Southport (near Liverpool). Children were tragically killed at the stabbing, but a rumour quickly spread that the culprit was a Muslim immigrant. He wasn't, but it resulted in a vigil for the deceased being hijacked, mostly from by people from out of town, into a far right riot. This was followed by almost a week of far right riots and protests across the country, though eventually they subsided due to large, organised counter protests and prosecutions of those arrested.

Gideon

I had a question, is your book still coming out?

Mina Krause

The lack of sensationalism is exactly why I chose to listen. I’m so tired of the world yelling everything at me and telling me how to think.

Tonya Nelson

Thank you so much for this. As I read it, it really rang true - it's easier to hold on when you're the go to, you have more control. I really appreciate it.

Ashley Hedrick

And if you do find it to be a protective measure; be kind to yourself. Thank that part of yourself for the protection it has given you, for keeping you safe. Also know that if it's no longer serving you, it's ok to be grateful for its protection in the past and also to release it now if it no longer serves you. You have worth just by being you. There's only one you and you are worthy of love and acceptance just because you're you. (Thanks, Mr. Rogers). 💗💗💗💗

Angie

I replied in the video this week but wanted to give you every opportunity to see it. 15:29 Not Belle but I recently made a very very very similar change. For me, I found that being "the steady one" was an excuse I made to protect myself; I was terrified to step outside my comfort zone. That's really everything it came down to in the end. I left my former 17 year job where I was "the go-to" for everyone. It eventually became more painful to stay than it was to remain. That's a choice only you can make; you're the only one who lives in your mind, in your life. I would suggest examining whether it may be a protective measure you've justified to yourself as being selfless, rather than selfishly harming your mental health without even realizing that. From the other side -- 2 months in my new job at a new company -- I'm learning to live with a little discomfort (I barely know how to do the things -- polar opposite of where I was) and from that, I can spend that mental energy investing in myself. When you're healthier and on the other side of your hill to climb, it will model to those in your life that it's ok to vocalize that you're in pain AND it's necessary to do terrifying things like trusting that you will be ok before, during, and after. Self-reflection is key. I will be your cheerleader should you decide you'd like one. 💗💗💗

Angie

Not Belle; but a diversity of tactics I should think. Do a relay race style and pass off to another; allow yourself to finish and then acknowledge the absolute hell out of the win. Celebrate every win, no matter how small. You must refill your tank; it's not selfish but *vitally necessary* to your mental health to jealously guard your well-being. Look back and celebrate those previous wins. Have meetings specifically geared toward roses rather than thorns. Have people learn their Clifton Strengths and regularly work within those strengths and allow others to work in theirs, even if it's "your" job. You can try to find a partner with strengths that reside farther down in your list to keep yourself energized.

Angie

Have you heard about Brave Books Storytime is coming to a library near you. It's religious based and has the kids praying besides listening to Christian gobbledygook

cindy jewell neeper

Question for Belle, Beau told us about meeting you in the photo studio and what his impressions were. Can you tell us your side of the story?

Mary Altair

Beau, you have been my rock. I believe Belle will carry the torch but I do miss your voice.

Mary Altair

Dear Beau, Thank you for everything. Please be rest assured that your efforts were greatly appreciated. You inspired me to continue to strive and advocate for "Rule 303". Whilst it is unlikely that we will ever meet in person, I will use this message to extend my gratitude once again. Thank you for everything.

JAHAD007

Beau - take care of yourself and make sure to have some fun. Belle - please don’t do Election Day / Night live coverage - too stressful and we enjoy hearing from you on regular things!

Stephen de Vries

Since Belle has been there from the beginning of this channel, I’m just seeing this as a beautiful evolution of what’s been done. You guys have changed my life and been there helping me thru death, a betrayal, a suicide, familial trauma & despair, so many moral injuries, and a world of people trying valiantly to make itself better. I miss Beau very much but love seeing the gorgeous face the voice in the background possesses. From the couples Q&A, to the time she lobbed a canister of icing at you cuz she just didn’t wanna bake a cake … I am SO down to see what the future holds for this lady, her husband, and everybody on the team, whether they remain backstage or not. And sorry to get longwinded but y’all are doing the good work, and in a hopefully not too para-social-relationshipy way, I love y’all for it. I think the only four questions for tonight are 1) is there community garden footage we can see? 2) how’s Beau doing? 3) would Belle be open to a medical-world news section? Our healthcare is ridiculous yes, but would that be cathartic or stressful for her to hash out? 4) will y’all be going on the road the way Beau wanted or is that too close to what he needs to not be around? Thank you all so much for what you’re doing and yay BeauBelle/the fifth column!❤️

Sh! Don't give it away!

Lars Gottlieb

Hey Jonny. I'm not Beau, and I can never be. But I'm sorry you're hurting, and hope you can find another anchor to hang on to when the waves go a little too high. Belle is doing well, please give her a chance if you can. And if you need to reach out to a stranger and unload, you're welcome to DM me.

Lars Gottlieb

Having been with the channel since 10,xxx subs, this is not an easy pill for me to swallow. Do what you have to do, we all get burned out. But you literally saved my life and gave me someone to emulate. Without that, and without warning...I'm kinda lost. But that's nobody's problem but my own. I have no family to speak of and now back to no guiding light. My default before the channel was to numb it all away. I can't decide what is next but I've lost enough people to know what grief feels like and as silly as it is being that we don't know each other I can't help but feel that grief. If I could take over for you and have the same impact I would in a heartbeat and that would fix a million life problems for me. But that's such a ridiculous thought. might as well go to Provo, Utah for the Philly Cheese steak.

Jonny-5

I've been with the Channel for five years, I do miss Beau, he always reminds me of my dad at that age, my dad would be 73 now. I loved the videos where he talks about his young daughter, you can tell he is such a great girl dad. But I am glad Beau is taking care of himself and getting to spend more time with his family. I am very excited for Belle taking on the mantle and leading the channel. As a fellow nurse, I have always been very curious about who Mrs. Beau is and I am enjoying getting to know her better. She is a real peach and I can see the mutual respect and love they share for one another when they speak about their spouse. It's really great to see and I know many people will consider Belle their Internet Mom the way they consider Beau their Internet Dad.

Georgia RN

I'm curious about something Beau mentioned off the cuff some time ago about Floridians, he spoke about wearing Hoodies if the temp drops below 70F. Now with Belle sporting the Flannels, I just don't get it! I'm born and raised near Atlanta and I walk around in short sleeves unless the temperature drops below 50F! Maybe I'm hot-blooded, but I have seen this in Florida myself. I attended a nursing conference in Ft. Lauderdale a few years ago in March, it was 65 degrees and sunny, yet I saw people in puffer coats and winter gear! What's up with that?

Georgia RN

Thank you for this. Watching you has been very special. My husband and I watch them all. 🙂 Belle has improved so much. She was already good from the start but has really improved alot. She will eventually be as good as you. 😁 We will be right there watching it happen. You take care of yourself. We are not going anywhere. Lisa and Jim

Lisa Miller

My head canon is still that Beau has taken the plunge and secretly gone to Ukraine to serve as a high-level instructor. Notice how they were suddenly able to move into russia shortly after Beau 'stepped down' and hasn't been seen since? Coincidence? I think not 😛

Øyvind Wallentinsen

Ooh! I'm glad I found your question and welcome to our area! When I heard it the other day, I wanted to add to Belle's suggestion for Alvin's Island. If you have a moment to get to the actual beach, take a small clear glass jar with you and scoop up a wee bit of sand (DON'T touch the sea oats as they're essential for our ecosystem and you'll be heavily fined). Due to renourishment projects after hurricanes, it isn't quite as white as it used to be, but it is the quintessential representative element of our area. You may even want to take a pic of yourself in the very spot it's from with the jar in hand with the emerald water behind you. Good luck with the training and have a wonderful stay! Oh, and Dollar Tree has plenty of jars if you need one.

Lisa Marie Bell

I just watched the changes video and was prompted to join, I’m proud for y’all gettin beau to step away for a non-specific indefinite time.

Jeffrey Cannell

Beau, very much admire your choice to take some time away to safeguard your own wellbeing. I am sure that wasn't an easy decision to make - please know that a lot of people will benefit from the example you've set in doing so. I hope that whatever comes next for you is challenging and rewarding in all the right ways. Belle, thanks for continuing the daily doses of clarity and sanity! Very much looking forward to regular (one-sided) chats with you :)

SpartanIris

We really miss you Beau but the most important thing always is your health happiness and your family. We really like Belle. Her voice is soothing and her humor is coming out, which we love. So sticking like glue. Go plant trees! We have a ton of apples and had great peaches this year.

Kelly Horton

Thanks, Beau, for all of the hard work you've put into this channel! It feels like you're an old friend, because you 'visited' my home every day, sometimes multiple times a day, for years now! Your calm and rational analysis of events and items in the news has provided the sanity and groundedness so many of us value and were missing in the mainstream media. I hope you are taking care of yourself and I think Belle is doing a great job!

Diane Feldhausen

Hey Beau and Miss Belle! Been watching Beau for a few years and, I understand that.. yeah, right now things are *hard*. I'm going through my own heavy upheavals myself and everything is still very much in the air.. I'm hoping it all lands in good spots without too much fuss. I hope everyone is okay. I hope y'all stay safe down there in Florida. This upstate NY'er is gonna miss you, but I'm sure Belle will grow on me as a voice of reason just like you have been over the years. Best of luck to the both of you. <3

Wolfshadow

Miss you Beau but glad you doing what you need to do to take care of yourself. Hope to hear from Belle in the future about all the new trees that "appeared out of nowhere" on your property. :)

Richard Abel III

Yea frankly Belle is a lot easier on the eyes.

Samuel Lindhorst

Thank you, Beau. You have made the channel a wonderful resource that I am happy to support. I am grateful for what you have started. Thank you, Belle. You are finding your own unique style while at the same time keeping the channel going. I am grateful that you won't let it end.

Patrick Benson

Thank you for saving my sanity, Beau. Belle is doing great! Question for Belle: can you talk about Ziklag, a non profit owned by turning point and the possible plans to overthrow the next election? It sounds scary to me.

Dianne Perkins

Very eloquently written and you voiced my sentiments exactly.

Dianne Perkins

I want to know how you avoid the temptation of "clickbait" to get more viewers. I've come to expect calm, rational commentary from your channel, and I need it to continue. But do new viewers get bored without the sensationalism and emotional manipulation of other news commentary?

JENNIFER TONGE-MARTIN

"Look for the helpers", said Mr. Rogers. And that's about the best advice to help center a person as you're gonna find. You have been that helper that I've sought out when trying to get a grasp of context in ongoing situations on the news. I have little doubt that the channel will continue to be a beacon of help to so many, but I can't say I won't be a little sad that the voice I've grown accustomed to presenting that bit of sanity won't be missed. Looking forward to the bits of sanity you and your team of helpers provide.

Stoney Bair

How long does Beau plan on being off? Are we going to have a host rotation going forward and/or a different platform? Whatever you do I’m sure it will be great.

Atheist Jesus

Hi Belle! Are there any plans to get active on some Fediverse platforms? I love the Fediverse because it really feels like what the internet should have become in terms of freedom and decentralization.

Tom

I'm just glad the channel is still here. Beau, you just need to do what's right for you. I know you are here in spirit. Sending you all a big virtual hug. Keep up the great work and keep up the good fight. ❤️

Janice A

So, a question for Ms Belle. Is the intention to still go "on the road" with link ups and shout outs to various communities and the groups that serve them?

Clive

322 comments already and you ver 600 likes. What a great Patreon community. I think a change in voice is great for the channel. It changes perspective a bit and shakes up our brains from auto-pilot absorbing everything Beau says. I'm so thankful for the team and that you had the support to step down. Love you both!

Pelicans are my favorite dinosaur

Belle, do you think the election of Kamala Harris will be he final break in the chain of old men being president?

Kate Trabue

Dear Beau, you have been the voice of reason and have helped so many, including me, understand a myriad of complex situations in the world. There aren’t enough ways for me to convey my gratitude for your service to the community and for the organizations your team has organized to contribute to. Sending you love, light and positive vibes for your rest and rejuvenation. As for Belle, you have big shoes to fill and are doing outstanding! The team is obviously a great group of human beings and I applaud you all. Thank you, thank you, thank you! 💙

Charlene Vivian-Granville

Beau I do like Belle and the continuation of the channels. But I must admit I do miss you and your calming and matter of fact voice. I hope you may make an appearance once in a while.

Lisa H Wood

I certainly echo the thoughts about you keeping us sane and calm. It has been a hard few years. I hope things are starting to look up. Belle is doing a great job and I can already see her own light shining through as she provides the info and commentary. I still want to hear about the horses and the other Beau/Belle family critters!

Robin Solomon

You're both awesome and I thank you for being so genuine and calm. You both give me hope for our collective future !

scicwester

Damn Joseph, so well said, I too was pretty devastated. I know it feels like your heritage but you seem like the kind of thoughtful person that will thrive anywhere! If you don’t move, at least travel enough to find your people. We all deserve that.

Tracy Raines

I've always thought that the attraction of Beau (and Belle) is their normalcy... they accept they're not exceptional in anyway. Except they try hard to do good. And speak truth. No one can ask more of a human being.

Andy Wang

I'm not sure how someone can be a mama-mama AND a horse-mama, plus do podcasts... I'm sure being a woman has something to do with it... be well, Belle and Beau....

Andy Wang

Mr. Ed? (A horse is a horse of course... except... :D )

Andy Wang

Thank you Beau, for being a calm voice in the midst of chaos, and please thank Belle for taking the wheel. I'm a computer engineer and Canadian Air Force vet, non-binary female body, so a lot of what you talk about is near and dear to me. The Trump years made me very nervous because we have a lot of natural resources up here and not very many people relatively speaking, but you've been the voice of sanity through it all. I come home from work and go straight to my "Beau notifications" for your posts. Rest up and do what you need to do. The team has your back, and we the viewers do too.

Cynthia H Brown

As many have mentioned, I'm so thankful for the reassuring calm of the last years. If y'all are eventually getting on the road, don't be a stranger to us up here in Minnesota (but my family will only come during visiting season aka May to Sept so there's that). I mentioned in an email, but I will state here as well, if the channel notices a drop off in support because of the changes, I hope that will be mentioned in a Q&A or some other point because that's the sort of are the internet people actually respecting Belle & the others that I personally care about. We need to ensure that this community is not a cult of personality (just maybe a cult of calm reason if required to be a cult) because that's not how community networks grow & that is ultimately what this is. As for Q for Ms. Belle, favorite book(s) or movie(s)? Pet peeves besides Beau leaving coffee mugs everywhere?

C Bea

Great hearing from you Beau, it means a lot.

Marliss

Beau, I can't even imagine how I would have coped without your channel. I think I found you in the space between A12 in Charlottesville (my hometown) and the pandemic. I don't remember exactly when, but you've been a staple of my daily viewing ever since. My husband and I even refer to our review of the day's videos as "the daily Beau" (it has become "the daily Belle" now). Profound thanks for all you, Belle, and the team have done and continue to do. Rest up. I hope we'll see you again...if not in this channel, then in other capacities. Hang tight.

Pia O Nomata

Belle had mentioned maybe getting a hat patch that was more her vibe, and I am dying to know what she's considering.

Pia O Nomata

Another question is whether the benefit streams might be added to based on the team’s interests?

Flo

Question for Belle: are you also a coffee drinker?

Flo

It documents your service history and the type of separation/discharge. Like honorable, other than honorable.

Flo

Please do not ne a stranger even if you are no longer the face of the channel.

David Ellis

I guess I'm the selfish guy. I mean, I'm dumb enough to have my real name on my profile, so I can't be that sharp. I wear all my feelings on the outside, my politics have gotten more intense and more visceral over the last decade. In short: everybody knows I may not lean left, I think the right has lost their minds, and they are still acting as if Timothy McVeigh had the right idea. I live in a state where firing rifles on private property is legal, with very few constraints. That means in the last ten years I can hear the sound of an AR from a distance to my house which is about 1/4 of the effective lethal range of the rifle. IT has changed me as a person. For all the talk about "heritage" from our Southern States, I live in the house that was built by my grandfather almost 100 years ago. The town around me.... is not the same. It is a place that, if you ask the politicians, was "saved" by Latino immigrants. If you talk to a guy like me, I go into town and I feel like the people there don't think I belong there. Places that my grandmother took me to as a young boy, are now filled with people who speak Spanish and ignore me like I'm the one who doesn't belong. It's a cold feeling. That means that the "old guard" here has .... taken Trump literally. My town was on the national radar when Obama was president because our mayor, an Italian, tried to make some headlines with his "illegal immigrant" position, and it lit a fuse. The town of Centralia, PA is not far from here; back in the 1950's a guy clearing trash for a party set fire to an underground coal seam that has been burning for 70 years now. The town has been abandoned, the ground still burns underneath. The town here.... the analogy is too close to home. So I relied on Beau for his objectivity. You see, I married for the first time in 2015, I was almost 50. And when 2016 came around, I said to my wife "You're not really goin to vote for him, are you?" and she didn't answer. In 2020, I ordered mail-in votes; she went to the poll in the middle of the pandemic because she didn't trust those things. Then in 2021, my mother died. She lived in Alexandria VA. I rented a van and drove down to clear out her place, to inherit all the stuff that used to be in my house as a kid. Very moving trip. I stopped in a little tavern before I left - "The Haven" - to relax before a long drive home. I look up and Michael Fanone, of Jan 6 infamy is at a table right in front of me. I shook hands and thanked him. His book is fascinating. Came home and told my wife, she was non-plussed. Seemed weird she was nonchalant about it. Fast forward to September 2022... right before the midterms. Trump holds a rally With Emmet Oz and Doug Mastriano in Wilkes Barre, PA. You should look it up on C-SPAN. It was ... Nuremberg Light. I go downstairs to get some dinner and see a note on the counter. "Gone to the rally. Be home later." I've been estranged from my wife ever since, because I just can't respect her anymore. Not so much that she became a zombie for TFG, but that she knew how much it would disappoint me (enrage me?) and that was why she kept it a secret for the whole time. Now I get Trump mail at least once a day, and it turns out she gives money to "Hillsdale College". I'll let you look for that...you probably already know. So I feel like I'm alone in the middle of hell, but I'm so attached to my home... my "heritage" (no irony there, right?) that I don't want to move; I don't like the changes but i can't stop it. Beau was my level-headed role model, because I need to learn how to deliver my thoughts without letting it get to me; and his delivery, his tone, his - let's be serious, his objectivity - that's a rare gem in our age. Objectivity is so rare in our age that there are not many people left who even recognize it; because their own subjectivity blinds them to the idea it even exists. "THEY aren't biased, NO, YOU are biased". "And so it goes" - that was Kurt Vonnegut. I use that all the time now. Almost as much as I say, "It's just a thought" - I miss my friend, Beau, who doesn't know me and I've never met. I'm growing to see his atmosphere of the shed (you should see the shelves in my basement, I stole your design) with Belle, and getting comfortable ... knowing the messenger may seem different, but those who compose it and relate to us are of the same mind. I hope all returns to "well" on your end. Thank you for what you've given us in the past, and I will still support the channel, because.... you reached me, and I need the anchor to a messenger with that kind of calm and constructive state of mind. Thank you for everything. I hope you find what you need to regain your balance. I hope we all do.

Joseph Galatha

I left this as a comment over on YouTube, but since you asked for Q&A questions, I’ll ask it here as well. would you mind covering the disagreement on Tim Walz’s military service record and his retirement? I’m not entirely sure how to respond to friends who are claiming he dodged deployment with an early retirement. And that he didn’t do it correctly. Would you mind elaborating if possible? Really enjoy seeing Mrs. Beau and seeing her get more comfortable with every video and though we miss you, we hope you’re doing well and wish you the best.

Melissa Ashbaugh

Beau, you're absolutely right; to recover from burnout, we have to just .... be.... for a while. No plans. I'm coming off about 7-8 years of burnout and hoo boy it's hard to not make plans as I begin to heal. I'm grateful to have found your channel in the chaos of 2020 - geez, 4 years already 😱 I've learned to calm my mind and look for the angle of attack and to just overall be emotionally regulated. I didn't have a model for that and that's what I found here: truth with emotional maturity. Question for Belle: can we get a glimpse into what makes you, you? What kinds of things energize you, get you excited to be alive? I'm really enjoying seeing you subtly insert some of that fiery personality I've seen on Twitter and I am here for it 🎉

Angie

Well hey Beau, hope that you are doing well. I hate that by you trying to do so much good, that it had covered you and basically was dragging you down with it. You do so much good, you help so much just by words. I mean I'm sure when you and some of your networks rolled in somewhere it was a huge help, but as someone who, thankfully, avoided being in any major destructions, it is great to hear you and count on your clear headed nature. As long as people have power or internet access of some kind, quite often you are the most reliable source that many people have. You get administrations or departments dropping information, we are stuck between names, that nobody really cares about, and people that literally will say the minimum possible, because they don't want blame. Help, but not really. It sure is a messed up world, there are lots of good people, we know, it's just so hard to find them in the messy world we are in. Sorry, I know it won't fix all the problems, but I do feel like when we can ever escape the cult of Trump, it will be possible to shake things. I mean at some point, things will hopefully turn into the world they should be again.

Freddy McCowan

I want to thank you for your steady calm delivery of the important aspects of the chaos we find ourselves in. As someone who's first memory of the outside political world was the RFK assassination, I have grown to see and understand the long-game in both national and international politics. Finding your channel was a welcome break from the "everything's a crisis" news cycle. Thank you. Although my kids think I'm compromising my morals and ethics for my personal comfort, this lifelong Marxist understands that today's latest atrocity is not the defining event in human society. My ADHD brain may not be able to keep up with the horrors that occupy my children but it's helpful to know that others see the threads across events and while troubled by those events, understand what can be done now to effect the future. Finally, the sign of the success of any venture, is can the leader/founder step away or give up "power" and yet the organization can continue and thrive. You have done that. Well done, Beau!

Michael Mauger

Feel the love ❤️

Tim Hetherington

Fully support all that you all do together as a team. I side-eyed you for a long time, Beau; but kept watching and verifying what you shared. And that time spent checking you out made it easy to move into supporting this community network you have built. And thank you for helping me learn about community networks! Am excited to see how this builds as you take care of yourself and the rest get to see their work and ideas come into fruition 🥰 And Belle—you are as amazing as he always told us you were!! 🥹🙂🥰

Megan Lyn

Well Hello, Beau from us internet People. So great to see this note from you. As much as I miss seeing you and hearing the calm voice of reason I have enjoyed and truly been helped by all these years of Insanity in trying to co I e with the constant divisive Haye and fear Mongering from the currently convicted felon Donald Trump, I am truly glad you are taking a break to reevaluate your priorities and to the activities that not only are you passionate about but receive increased energy and happiness from while being engaged in those activities. Wish you all the best, and just know that your wife Belle and your team have more than proven you have left all your channels in very capable hands. Thank you so much for all you do and all the great information, guidence, and spport you provided all tour videos. Peace, joy and contentment to you and your family in all that you all do and in the time you all spend together.

William Stefens

I turned hubby on to your channel years ago and we have been happy supporters ever since! So glad to hear from you too, Beau! I know how proud you are of Belle and the whole hard working truth finding gang! We will continue to support this thing you’ve started and keep the momentum going! Thank you for being the you you are!

Melissa Thorpe

I also was surprised when you made the announcement and really sad, but you have a great team I am sure and I will get used to whomever delivers the messages going forward. Belle is great, just a little adjustment, you know how much people like change.

Tracy Szemanski

Beau, please take all the time you need, You delivered us to where we need ti be and i believe we can take it from here, for a while at least. it is so tempting to run back when we "think" we can handle it instead of really waiting for your energy to return. Two years is a good rule of thumb for the type of burn out I think you have. You taught me so much, thank you, thank you, thank you.

Beverly Smith

P.S. I have watched you for several years and have really benefited from it. You helped keep me sane in all this chaos. Thank you. And, to Belle, welcome! I watch you every day. Thank you too!

MelindaH

The other day, Belle mentioned a call with Dirt Road Democrats and put a link in to sign up. I did this and then I didn't hear any more about it. When I went back to the page to re-up since I hadn't heard anything, I got a message saying it wasn't a secure site. Did that call ever happen?

MelindaH

Thank you Beau and Belle. Belle you are doing great.

Melia Hopper

"Get informed not inflamed." If ever there were a simple phrase that best exemplifies the entirety of this organization/movement, it would be this. And in these troubling times, I have so often found myself feeling despondent, angry, confused, terrified - and I've always been able to turn to this channel to help me make sense of things and find some hope amongst the ashes. I trust that this team will continue along those lines. I know burnout, having BTDT myself. Thanks for everything, and take care.

P Jacobs

Beau, I can't express how much you and the channel have meant to me over these last few years. It is in large part because of your efforts that I am involved in my community and volunteer at two charities aiding un-housed people. I am a part of community networks now! I hope that you're extremely proud of all that you have accomplished with this channel directly and via all the positive ripples you have sent out into the world. I will dearly miss seeing you and hearing from you every day, but I understand that you have to take care of yourself first. Take all the time you need. <3 Belle, Thank you for stepping in to keep the channel going! I look forward to getting to know you like we've gotten to know Beau. Can you keep us updated on what Beau does next once he's taken time to recover?

Josh

Thank you, Beau and Belle, for keeping your project going. Having been a sole proprietor of a small business for 30 years, my sweetie could never listen to your broadcasts without wondering at the logistics -- either the burnout of doing it on a shoestring or what corporate structure was backing it up. And making this transition three months before the election is just perfect, in my opinion, because it gives some people a jump start on hearing intelligent information from a female voice after getting so used to hearing the male voice for years, separating the message from the messenger, and allowing the possibility that women have been places and done things and know things, too. Thank you!

Mary Rhodes

Beau, thank you and Belle and everyone else in your organization for being a stable foundation and a beacon of hope in these turbulent times. A calm voice of knowledge and reason is so desperately needed right now. I can honestly say that you have helped me keep my sanity intact over the last ten years. I wish you and Belle all the best. Rest well, for you have truly earned it.

Ian Seale

And I can't put into words how much I appreciate you, Beau. Your channel has given me so much, taught me so much, and I dare say made me grow as a person. I'm sorry you had to step down but I'm glad you had someone to pass pass the torch to. I too think Belle will do great and I'm curious to see what the team comes up with. Get plenty of well-deserved rest and know that you've truly done what you can, as much as you can, for as long as you can ❤️.

Øyvind Wallentinsen

Beau: Change is natural. I mean that in the sense of "part of nature", I hope wherever your heart leads you next will be as successful as BFC. As for the channel, not only will I continue to support it, but I plan to recommend it (with Belle in the anchor's seat) to my daughter-in-law, who has largely signed off of news because she finds it 'depressing.' So please, where y'all can, keep the hopeful news coming and the monsters at bay.

Meg Feeley

Thank you to you and your team for everything, especially the non-inflammatory takes on the world. It has helped me a lot with understanding, empathy, and learning more about the world. You really built something special here, and I look forward to seeing where Belle goes with the channel. Beau, please take care of yourself, I've spent some time with people in helper roles that were burned out, and if they'd just taken some time for themselves and refreshed with down time they would have done so much more.

Gavin Abercrombie

Beau - thank you for helping me stay sane. Rest well. We’ll leave a light on for you. Belle - I have a recommendation for a hat and patch. I prefer the soft baseball hats over the stiff ones. Also, I haven’t been able to find one yet, but what about a “World’s Okayest Mom” patch? My son got me that on a coffee mug as a way of saying that while I didn’t get everything right as a parent, I got the important bits right.

Flo

It’s easy to believe your network or the faction looking for the perfect match to them is a bad choice. Remember that a lot of us progressives are pragmatic and we will be voting to move the timeline even when the journey has bumps in the road.

Flo

Indeed! “The grass is greener where you water it.” 👏🏼

Malee Holland

I think Belle mentioned that if you would like to still send him emails, he still reads them and may reply there, just not publicly.

Malee Holland

*but it’s certainly not encouraging, is it?

Malee Holland

This criticism is still very harsh the deeper you go into the pro-Palestinian camp. I have been an advocate, I’ve donated to relief efforts for Gaza. It doesn’t seem to matter to them as long as there is a “D” attached they are looking for as much dirt as possible to put as fine a point as they can on why nobody can trust either side. I’m sure many have already seen comments like these sprinkled among the typical MAGA backlash comments after Walz was announced. I expected it from MAGA but the doubling down from the deep left was hard to take. It’s like trying to be a Jew that supports a free Palestine while willing to work with the current administration towards that purpose even though they messed up a lot. You’re a “self-hating Jew” on one side but you’re a “genocide-enabling Zionist” on the other. I won’t allow them to be successful in shutting down people who are just trying to help in their own way, but it’s https://www.instagram.com/p/C-VokeFPn3d/

Malee Holland

Good to hear you are doing well Beau. I've listened to every one of your videos since I took a chance on your channel when I came across it three years ago and I'm sure your team will find there stride and identity as they go. Life is a constant learning process and you have earned you rest. Take care.

Michael William Musolf

Dude. You’re amazing but please take the time to rest and recover!!!

Anakin Dayton

NO PLANS ALLOWED except maybe for your next nap. You've created something great and you've made it so that it can move on without you when necessary, well done, now stop worrying. You like to quote Hamilton, well now you get to stop, say goodbye and go sit under your own vine of fig tree or whatever you've grown in your orchard. Take care.

Amélie Carré

Thank you Beau. Just thank you. For everything.

Crystal Eiswert

Taking time to breathe is a courageous thing to do. I know I don't have to tell you this but please get help if you need to. My husband has PTS and sees a VA therapist weekly. It can make a huge difference. You have been such an inspiration for us. Belle is doing a great job and will only get better as time goes on. Question for Belle: how many loads of laundry does it take to wash all the t-shirts he wears?

Mandy Madden

No one should be afraid of change. Thanks to Beau, Belle, & the team.

MaggieG

I can't say enough good things about this comment!!

Mandy Madden

Beau, having encountered burnout in my work on several different occasions over the years, the space and time you are giving yourself is healthy, good and I imagine that it will allow you to see the path ahead of you more clearly. You have created a space for ideas to grown, and grown they will.Question for Belle.... Given that it is early in the physician medical training year (new residents started in July), what piece of advice would you give new Docs as they start the next phase of their journey.

Gil Grimes

Beau, thank you for keeping me sane all these years! I’m glad you are taking time for yourself but you will be missed! Btw, I have enjoyed listening to Belle’s calming voice too! Thanks again for all that you have done over the past five years!

Robin Fontana

Beau, thanks for all you've done for our community by providing a bit of sanity each day. Everyone will miss you dearly (until you return, of course). And as for Belle... its only been a week and I already notice the change coming on. Your natural, relaxed delivery gets better every day. Hang in there! We'll make it happen together. Love to both of you!

Clay Beat-E-O

Beau, of course we miss you, but we're glad that you're taking time to take care of yourself. Belle is great, too. I like her a lot already. :) The community that you built is one of the kindest, most giving that I've ever seen, and that's saying a lot considering that it's a politics/news channel. It will continue whether you come back or not. Thank you for letting us all be a part of this. Be well.

Lisa T.

Glad to read such a positive message from you again! Glad you recognized the need to switch to a healthier road in time! Q for Belle: If you're comfortable answering, how will the change affect the available time for family activities? You all seem used to incredibly busy lifestyles. Is there (or will there be) time for more relaxed Dinners, side-by-side reading, weekend excursions, etc., or have such activities never been part of your busy schedules?

Mahadma

Forever thankful for Beau

Mario van der Linden

First, Beau, enjoy your well deserved rest, and make sure that when you come back, you're doing so in a healthy way. The movement is way bigger than just you, and while it may be called Beau of the Fifth Column, we are more than just you- in a good way! Second, question for Belle- could you tell us a little bit more about your service? Just saw you mention you had multiple DD214s, I was just interested, and if you're comfortable would be cool if you could shed some light on that! Also re service it seems to me as a brit that Americans in the military tend to serve enlisted before becoming officers way more than over here- I joined the navy straight away as an officer, and its almost de rigeur that that is what's done. Is that a cultural thing there, or just preference?

peter kates

Take care of yourself. That's the most important thing right now. Still good to read some words from you though.

Mo po

We're here for you all, the quality and engagement continues.

W A Myers

The movement you built has transcended one man. That's a terrific accomplishment, Beau! Best of luck in whatever the future holds.

Rob Babcock

Another Brit thanking you for all your hard work and content over the years - I've thoroughly enjoyed all your work and am really sad to learn of the toll it's taken. I'll be interested to see how the channel develops in the future but you take care of yourself !

Ian Stobie

I understand your concern and I would suggest that some progressives are VERY happy with Walz. TYT did a video where Cenk was absolutely excited over Harris's pick. I think we need to look beyond the MSM and listen to the alternative voices to get a broader picture and then do what we can to talk everyone off the ledge.

Julie Sloane

Your seeds have sprouted and are growing vigorous plants. Well done, Beau!

Patti Robertson

I'm just happy you're still here. And Ms. Belle seems like an equally level headed, caring person. Given that she is a nurse, that makes sense but isn't always a sure thing. Q's for Ms. Belle: How does your nursing perspective inform how you see the world? Do you think that because you see people during some of their worst times that you have to balance that perspective (or do "palate cleansing")?

Julie Sloane

Hi Beau, a Brit here just saying huge thanks for all you've done to ensure the world knows there are sane, intelligent Americans over there. I've watched you since before the 2020 elections and you're the best commentator I've seen - well until Belle turned up haha! Just look after yourself, take as much time as you need and from someone who has gone through burnout, please spend time with your family, its the best cure there is!

Simon Figg

Belle I love how you are really hitting your stride. You are doing a great job. And Beau I have learned so much from you. Thank you. What a gift to have a chance to stop and look around. It can't have been an easy decision but the right calls are not always the easy ones. Just another thing we have the opportunity to learn from you I guess.

Holly Read

What can we do to keep up spirits when the far ends of both the right AND the left are dooming and glooming? Especially the left. We get a more progressive VP pick and the far left is still deep-frowning and calling the more moderate leftists “dumb” for being hopeful. It’s deflating. I’m sure the Harris and Walz campaign will still do well with just the moderates, center-left, and center-right, but I would still like to hope that progressives can try to get out of their own way. Change gets worked on from the bottom up, right? We’re trying to facilitate things so that a progressive shoe can at least get inside the door, here. Overton Window stuff. Brené Brown’s “Gifts of Imperfection” stuff. If we wait for “perfect” alignment in a candidate, we will lose a lot of time we simply don’t have right now.

Malee Holland

I love that you are taking this time to heal and grow. But is there any chance we will see you in stuff that doesn't require heavy research and planning? Like, yes, Q&A videos? Or would that be too much of a "just one more piece of chocolate" as well?

Seidmadr

I can't say this enough. We appreciate you, Ms Belle. One day though, we're going to have to get the whole story with hubby:)

Robbie Frechette

Exactly! 🙂

JamieAnn Kaskowitz

So happy you are actually stepping back and starting to recover. You and Ms. Beau are an awesome team, I can sure envision you together. Ms. Beau, so great to have you here! Please don’t overdo it, we want to be able to treasure you for awhile. Love it when you take down snarks! Thanks!

Mary Whalen

I knew something was going on when you were really upset on one video but I can't remember which one but it was clearly getting to you. I'm really going to miss you but I'll give the team a chance. It's the least I can do to say Thank you for all that you've done for us. I salute a fellow traveler who deserves the very best life has to offer. Thank you.

Jean Smith

Thank you for all you've done. It is lovely seeing "Miz Belle" after hearing about her all these years. She is doing a great job and getting more comfortable with each video. You take care of yourself and your family and do what you need to do.

Bel-Ami Margoles

You’ve always got that support, Justin. Things will only get better for all, but certainly for your…um…continuing to live well. No man is an island, right? Please make sure your spousal unit has a ready supply of plaid shirts, ok? She’s been a hit with those, but mostly because of her erudite posts so far. Love her! Love you!

Barbara Tysell

Thank you, Beau. We love you all!

Chronic_J

Thank you Beau!!

Sam Rounsavell

Beau, cheers brother. Thank you for building this..and for having the grace to make the call when you absolutely had to leave. Also huge kudos to Belle for stepping up and leaning in. She's taken over admirably well. The team is doing well because the quality of production and cadence of publication is still right on track. Belle, Are you a morning person or a night owl?

FloundericiousWA

The note is greatly appreciated Beau! I hope you find joy and happiness in wherever your path takes you. Enjoy your extra family time for now! Nothing more important than that.

Adam

Beau, what a treat to get this note from you! As much as we all miss you, you did the right thing in stepping away. I honestly don’t know how you absorbed all that political toxicity on our behalf for so long without collapsing. Maybe watching this channel grow and flourish just like a well-loved child will help you heal. You built a strong ship, sir; she’s ready to sail. I do hope you’re finding peace of mind and rest and all the good things you need and deserve. As for Belle…no questions, just unending support and gratitude for being the new face of the channel. This is no easy task, and you have stepped up beautifully. I can’t thank you all enough - Beau, Belle, and the whole team - for providing a safe haven and a sane source of information for so many of us. What a light you are shining out into the world. 💜

Tina Vitali

I am so grateful for ever having had the opportunity to watch your videos. I am chronically ill and mostly bed bound, so people like you have kept me entertained, informed and sane. You are the best of all the channels I watch. Thank you for everything. Take the rest you need. Belle is doing a great job.

Sharpne55

We love you Beau! Now please go rest and don't plan things until you are better 💜

Ava Jarvis

You're all good people and I really appreciate the perspective you have brought over the past 5ish years. Be good. ps. I still miss the pumpkin.

Garwood Nichol

We don't plant trees expecting to sit under their shade, we plant them for future generations.

mclardass

You built something amazing, and built it to the point where it can continue and thrive as you step out. It doesn't get any better than that! And yeah... those of us who've been around awhile here understand how hard it is to express the gratitude we feel for your role in maintaining our sanity through it all. Just be for awhile... until you can be well, be balanced, and be happy.

Karen Nichols

Just like it took a few years to get to the point where you had to walk away, it will take a while to decompress. Don't rush it. My question for Belle is: Does Beau still leave his coffee cups around with a couple of sips left, saving them for later?

Donald Wert

What differences between you and Beau should we know(/do you want us to know)? Is one of you more practical or idealistic? Is one of you better at making predictions? Is one of you more social than the other?

Katie Ingrid Falcon

This! Also what impact does Beau’s vacation/retirement have on said plans? Will he not be in any related videos or just not the main channel ones?

Katie Ingrid Falcon

I admit, it was pretty jarring to see your video that you're stepping back, especially at this time, with the election so close. But... I understand your reasons for doing so, and don't want you to destroy yourself just to keep us calm. I trust your decision, and wish nothing but the best for you. I'm sure your other half will do you proud, and as she said, she knows all the same people, has all the same sources, and you've heaped praises on her so much in the past that I don't doubt her abilities. The mission & message is the same, and I appreciate that the channel will continue.

Cos B

Mate, enjoy the rest and relaxation. You've done so many people so much good, time to do so for yourself. Burnout is no insignificant matter. I'm currently working through some of my own, and not for the first time. When you're feeling better, would you mind doing one last thing for the community? Please talk about your burnout, what it took from you, and what it took to recuperate. There are way too many folks in my life that are dancing on the edge of burnout or have already slipped over. Your reach and experience could help others avoid and deal with their own burnout. But if it's not something you feel like you can do, I understand all too well. Take care, and thank you.

Dustin Carroll

Miss you already brother, but Belle is doing fantastic. You take care of yourself. Take all the time you need. I hope some day to see you hosting again, even if just a cameo.

Juan Gutierrez

Beau, man, I understand you gotta do what you gotta do, and I'm glad you're taking steps to fill your own cup and be healthy, but we really miss you! I'm so glad you shared what you could and I hope it all works out. Peace and well wishes and all the love. -dg

Dawn Geisler

Beau, Vacations are a good thing :) Hope you get the balance you much need. Belle is wonderful and we all finally get to see how awesome she is. Your channel is my news. TI-19045 - MoonBurn - MTFBWY

EDWARD SADZEWICZ

Honestly - I think your timing was perfect. Things seem to be heading in a better direction and even if they weren’t - all the garbage would have been too much for anyone. I’m so very happy to see your message and I hope you’re doing well. Belle is doing an awesome job - I love her sense of humor and wit. Y’all are seriously suited well for each other! Take care of yourself Beau! No matter what your future holds, we need folks like you in the world. ❤️

Belle, Hi Your doing great No questions from me

luke goddard

Beau, dude, you definitely needed a break. I have been watching your videos since 2018 and have often thought " how does he keep up" . Belle , never questioned your expertise. I know you have ,as Beau did, a strong team behind you. Keep up the good work. You have become part of my morning routine.

Toest

Belle, I work for a government agency that helps those in need, and have seen alot of talented people who loved the service aspect of their job, but eventually fall victim to compassion fatigue, or lose the element of doing the job in order to help people, which eventually leads to higher attrition. Others here have talked about compassion fatigue in general, so my question is how do you make choices in your career that allow you to make changes which are big enough to matter but small enough to win?

Ian Lees

Q and A Family edition

Wcoasttigger (E Hodgson)

I sent this as an email but I'll send it here too: I'm strongly considering joining the Air Force; I'm 25, stuck in a dead end service job with a Bachelor's degree in political and religious philosophy (which I would not trade for the world), and I have very little in the way of money or social connections, but I want to go to law school as a stepping stone to running for office in the future. I'm assuming that if I spend four or eight years as a military paralegal I might be able to open the door to a good law program between connections I'll make and money I'll save. As a veteran of the Force and someone committed to building a more compassionate world, do you have any words of wisdom?

Cohen

So nice to hear from you, Beau! Thanks for taking over Belle and keeping us informed. I wrote him a letter as you suggested. Can you please tell us a little more about you? You mentioned so many things about your qualifications - which I never doubted by the way, you're married to Beau, of course you were helping him - but in that video, I have to admit that other than nursing, I didn't understand most of the acronyms? Keep up the good work, you're delivery is improving with every video released, I like your style and I greatly admire your willingness to take this on. I have a feeling that the only way he would agree to step back is if YOU did this. Or maybe it was your suggestion? Either way, I hope he's out fishing somewhere right now. Or reading a book with a big glass of his favorite beverage. Or all 3

S. Beem

I know that “The Roads” was originally supposed to be, well, on the road with Beau. Are there plans eventually to go out on the road? I always hoped that there would be a visit up to Oregon someday.

Kate Casey

Question for Belle: I have always loved Beau, but something you said the other day got to me - I now have an Internet Mom. I could use some mom advice. The TL;DR is that I'm stuck in a soul sucking career. I need to make changes, but I've become somewhat of the safety net for my family, because I'm decent at what I do. I don't think they necessarily need me day to day - but I feel like I need to be the steady one, for emergencies or what-ifs. What would you tell your kids about finding a path that serves them, and letting go when you've assumed maybe too much responsibility (and worry). Thank you also to Beau for all you've done. You've changed so many lives, and I hope the messages express that.

Ashley Hedrick

Or other horse stuff!

Kate Casey

Welcome, Belle! You are a natural fit, and I’m so glad to hear the same calm, logical common sense coming from you as we were accustomed to with Beau. Change is good, as I always say, and I hope Beau is taking good care of himself. My question is about my friend who is so completely obsessed with the Israeli genocide of Palestinians that it looks to be making her a single-issue voter. How do we talk to our friends who pigeon-hole a presidential candidate down to one over-simplified decision at the expense of the full spectrum of the office? Thanks, and Go Belle!!!

Karen Kungie-Torres

Beau, because of political overwhelm I decreased all media consumption to just your several videos per day. It has kept me sane. After an ear was grazed a few weeks a go, I noticed my mental health was on the fritz. What you and your team have build is so necessary. I couldn't even begin to imagine the negative effects on your wellbeing while caught up in this political cycle and environment as your full time mission. You take care of you. The mental fatigue and burn out is no joke. Sending all the well wishes your way. Welcome Belle and thank you team for continuing the mission. You have been doing incredible. Ty!

Jezebathena Curie

I'm thankful for the work you've put in on the channel. The commitment to practicing the values espoused in the channel: mobilizing and helping those in need, is what has made be not once question the decision to support the channel through Patreon. Y'all are the kind of people I'd be thankful to sit around a table and share a drink and a conversation with, and I've been glad to have your voices heard in my home. It's good to take a minute to type out a thank you. I'm sure it's probably in the plans if I'm not already late to it, but I'm eager to hear the reaction to the Walz pick. I was so afraid it was going to be Shapiro and do used to Democrats doing the last thing we hope for that I felt some crazy sensation one might describe as hopefulness. It was different, but a welcome change. 😆

Josh V.

Belle you are taking up the challenge ever so fast. Do be careful not to overdo. Love Y’all Robert from California (some Dirt Road Georgia family roots)

Robert Bess

Belle, as I am raising 3 young kids to be critical thinkers and hopefully optimists, I've always been curious as to exercises you guys have done with your fam or ways you approach challenging young minds. Clearly there is a lot Beau and you seem natural at teaching others. Just wanted to know if you had any insight offered for those it doesn't come so naturally to.

Jezebathena Curie

Howdy Beautiful Belle! My only Q&A questions are: How are you feeling about your decision to take over? Beau mentioned he has some prerecorded videos that he had on hold. Will you be posting them in the future? I know he's probably a perfectionist so I kinda expect he wouldn't want you to post any that are outdated... but... he's Beaustradamus... so I'm sure there will be some that fit with current events. 😅

Jaquenta Jackie

Hi Beau! Take care of yourself! For Belle: how are you handling balancing the roles of YouTube personality, horse rescuer and mom?

Karla

Well howdy Beau!! We're so happy you stopped by. Now look what you done did... Dang it... you done made me tear up. 🥹 Great to see your voice. 😊 I hope that you're enjoying your temporary retirement. LOL And I look forward to your surprise cameos. 😉😉 Miss you brother. And I'm sending a big old hug. 🤗💕

Jaquenta Jackie

Just adding to the piles of love and appreciation for you and Belle. The "stepping away" video (and comments) made me cry. For or so many of us, y'all have been the most constant source of sanity in crazy times. But many, many, of us internet people are SO relieved the channel carries on, in good, calm, collected, well-informed, and downright charming hands! :) Til we see you around--we know the old saying: if you don't have your health... Rest. Do what keeps you well and alive, literally and otherwise. And *thank you* <3 <3

Annelisejj

A quick question for "you guys" (the northern y'all); The owner of the company I work for indicated this week, that we would be entering into a partnership with a UK based oil and gas company. Not the best news. Interestingly, during the announcement, he stated that financial institutions were currently reluctant to invest in this industry. That seemed odd. Where could I look for reporting to check on the validity of this statement?

Keith Dentel

Thank you SO much for everything you have shared with us, over the years. And I am so glad you recognized that it was time to step away and allow yourself a break from constant giving to experience some time for Beau. Be well. The ship is moving steadily forward.

Ken Ferris

Thanks for checking in, Beau. Now go do you! Belle, please whap at Beau if you see him get too close to your screen... lol 👀 😆 Question for Belle & the team: Would there be any interest in having a kid geared series? (i.e. some of these topics that our kids hear about on the playground at school or hanging with friends) that generates questions that us parents might struggle to find the words that meets kids on their level? Not talking down but maybe just more simplified, I guess?... Even if it's a Q&A style series of questions from parents and/or kids (and in my family that is kids old enough to access internet but too young to have social media accounts supposedly). Example in my house: My 8 year old sees & hears things surrounding homelessness and she wants to help. She has listed several ideas on how we can help and they are good ideas. However she truly believes the problem will be solve if "xyz" happens. I don't want to rain on her positive ideas but I also have to answer her follow up questions "why won't xyz solve everything?" Sorry if I'm not making much sense. Lol

JamieAnn Kaskowitz

Hi Beau and Belle, You know, years ago, these videos of a a red bearded creator kept popping up on my youtube feed. I didn't know what the content would be like, but I clicked on one of the videos and never turned back. The algorithm hit it out of the park. This has become and will continue to be my favorite channel. The only time I remember missing a video was when I was taking care of people in a shelter during Hurricane Ian. I didn't know at the time you were busy coordinating aid to the area. I have heard you, more than once, reassure people that it is OK to step away--that others would be able to step in. I am so glad you were able to recognize when it was time to be done. Please take good care of yourself! Well, I love Belle. It was amazing to see her step in without missing a beat. Of course, I haven't seen the rest of the team, but with the quality of this channel, I can only conclude that they are great. Thank you Beau for everything you have done. It has been outstanding! And thank you Belle for continuing this awesome journey. Y'all have a good day!

Teri-Jo Scott

I appreciate everything you have done and the information you have provided is crucial in a world of misinformation. I love seeing Belle become more and more confident and comfortable in her new role on the channel! Thank you.

Jo Swan

Thanks for all you've done, Beau. And thank you, Belle, for what you are doing, as well as the rest of the team. I appreciate everything you all give to this community.

Vicki Tillman

I posted it somewhere else, but a huge "Thank You" to you and your team. You all helped keep me sane over the past 8 years, and helped me and my kids find a different way to view the things going on in the world. Gave us the reference tools to learn and think for ourselves. Such valuable things to pass on these days. It feels kinda sad, and I will miss your face. Hope job hunting goes better for you than it does for me! :) And to Ms Belle -welcome. Can't wait to hear from you on topics political, social and environmental. I bet you do know stuff and do stuff.

Michelle Hawley

Beau, I am glad you are doing what is needed for You. Belle is doing great. You married well. :-)

Jean A Stuntz

Good to hear from you Beau. Glad you’re able to take a peek once in a while. Hope your convalescence is going well. (I had job burnout once and it’s scary, so happy you to take care of you.) To Belle, wondering a couple things. How involved were you behind the scenes before you stepped in front of the camera - the transition seemed so seamless. Also, how are the kids reacting to extra time their dad now has?

ANDERSON CLARK

Thank you, Beau. I stumbled across your channel about 5 years ago and it was your personality that caused me to stay. The format, community, and team that has evolved has been fantastic. It has been good to see Belle working to find her voice and persona and the huge growth that she has already shown. I will continue to support your YouTube media child as it grows but must admit that the absence of the personality drew me in, one that I can easily relate to, has left a void that, even after the grieving period ends, will still be an unfillable void. I wish you well in your future endeavors and hope that you can find a labor of love. Without the love, it just becomes a labor. Rest well, brother, tomorrow is a new day!

Rick Harper-Peck

Question for Belle: Please give your thoughts on the pros and cons of various horse breeds, and/or your preferences in a horse.

Patty Boris

Any word on the endowment Beau was looking into for the DV shelter?

Kainoa Danford

Y’all ever consider having an actual day off every week? For a Leftist, you are kind of hard on labor (yourselves) to not observe legal holidays. Or is that against Our Lady of YouTube’s dogma? Most of your content is topical so it would be difficult to bank in advance. But your archive has to be large enough for you to put up videos based on “When I was Right” or “On a Long Enough Timeline” or similar. Groucho may or may not have said, “I love my cigar too, but I take it out of my mouth every once in a while.”

John Caywood

I was kinda hoping this absence was because Beau was gonna pop up as Harris' surprise running mate, but I guess we'll make do with Walz. lol Rest up Beau. You've earned it.

Rick Bamford

I miss you and your calm, reasonable voice while educating me a lot. However. . . it is so nice SEEING Belle. She's a terrific "other half."

Sharon Hanson

My questions for Ms Belle: 1 You mentioned I don't know why I stay here in a recent video about Debby. Where would you want to live? 2. If you were a tree what kind of tree would you be and why?

Erin Rogers

Ms Belle and team are doing awesome Beau! I'm so excited to see what they have in store for us! Beau, please take care of you and know this channel is in good hands 🙌

Erin Rogers

Beau. I went through what you are going through starting in June of 22- it has been brutal- with good therapy and time completely away I’m now starting to understand what is important to me. And that my happiness matters. I’m starting to feel myself again… trust the process. To Belle. I’m so happy to have you here and love listening to you speak. There is a shared cadence in yours and Beau’s speech that must come from either practice or long years together- is it a little of both? If not- if you are trying to match his speech for continuity- I get that, but I will value what you say in your own voice too. Just a thought.

Michelle Knutson

Geez man… way to lead by example once again. It’s my firm belief that a lot of us mediocre white men need to step aside, but you are far from mediocre. I can’t wait to see what you work on next. Belle is doing great! This team is so solid.

Jimmy Richter

One of the most important things a leader has to do is train their replacement! We all miss Beau, but I love the welcome that Belle has received. My hat is off to Belle for taking up the reins and carrying on with the channel, it couldn't be in better hands. There will always be the occasional troll, don't let them get you down. There are literally thousands of us out here cheering you on. Ms. Belle you have already proven yourself more than capable of continuing these important conversations. I understand workaholism, believe me, and it's critical, when you need to step back, to let go completely and let the next generation step up. Beau, you deserve a long, fun, happy rest. The world will keep turning. Please don't even thing about coming back for a good long while, and then you'll probably come back in a totally different way. Thanks for all your incredible leadership!

Jan Saxton

We miss you madly Beau, but Belle is taking good care of us, glad to have her on board.

Phyllis Ralley

Thanks for all you’ve given us Beau. We will miss you but you’ve left us with a worthy successor. Enjoy your well deserved time off. As for Belle, Air Force all the way! Welcome.

LS

Thanks for the years of videos Beau, recover well. The channel is in good hands :) A question for Belle: Obviously because of the election, the channel is focused a lot on political topics, but are there any other topics you'd like to talk about on the channel that are dear to your heart? As an example, Beau talked about a growing/gardening video he wanted to release.

Damien Weatherley

Belle has been wonderful. Even in such a short time one can sense an evolution and growing confidence in her videos, and the topics and ideas are, as always, excellent. I'm one of those people stuck in an info silo (working to help several families in Gaza with wounded or maimed children) and your channel has been a lifeline to remind me that we live in a complex and multi-issue world. Beau, take care of yourself, that is ultimately the most important. Even the giants- Picasso and Monet come to mind- took breaks. In their cases they both took 3 years off, let the batteries charge in their own organic way, and let whatever the magic was simmer undisturbed on the back burner. As a question, Belle, I was wondering what your sense was of the potential impact of the youth/Muslim vote in any direction in swing states with the ongoing genocide in Gaza? Biden had pretty much tanked the Muslim vote, which is large in states such as Michigan.

Paul Rossi

Your hard work and example setting has created this community. I know you're not the only one responsible, but you a big part of it. Kudos! It's fun getting to watch Belle find her voice! So hard to do that on a stage a large as the one she inherited. She's killing it 😁

IcyMidnight

None of it means jack if we lose you, darlin'. Be well.

Melissa Strobel

With the new host has come a change in tone, language, and phrasing that I think makes the channel less approachable to republican voters. Is this something you want to change? Do you want to improve the approachability of your videos to republicans?

Alex Civitello

People can say all the nice things about your wife and their all true. And YES you deserve TIME OFF, but the authenticity that comes from your life experiences is bar none. take time but don't leave us forever!!!!!!

Mike F.

Go team!!

Keith Sparkjoy

Here’s a few of questions for Belle! What’s brought you the most joy since Beau stepped back? If you’re ready to talk about it, what are you most excited about moving forward? (Open ended on purpose 😁) I notice you’re more into saying the quiet part out loud, up front, in more of a punchy way than Beau did. (LOVE both approaches!) Is this something you, Beau, and the team talked about intentionally, is this you being you, or both? IMHO as a yes-and to Beau’s tone, I find it refreshing and fun! Thank you both for keeping this going, and Beau, as someone who also had to take a big step back from a big thing due to burnout (mine was academia), you probably can’t see now what a bada$$ thing you did and the example you set. But we do. Lots of burned out do-gooders are probably thinking hard about Rule 303 and how it’s key to making our do-goodery sustainable.

DrMaryBee

I wanted to say Hi to Belle. A fellow horse mom! It’s been great Belle you are getting into the rhythms! Tell the troglodytes who cast doubt upon you to go shovel s***! You are doing great!

Melyni J Worth

Belle is killing it! The channel is obviously in the best of hands. I am excited to see what develops next.

Nathan Myers

Hey Beau...... Thanks for reaching out. There's growing pains in all things. I'm glad Belle got her own handle, and I'll say for my part it suits her. Since she picked it up, she's found her rails a lot more. I've enjoyed your content for years. I'm glad your crew is getting some time in the footlights, given what happens in front of the camera, you've got a quality team. What you do is worthwhile. I'm glad you're getting some rest.

Chernabog

Beau, speaking from the point of view of a guy who spent years burning the candle at both ends by soaking it in gasoline and setting it on fire, then paying for it with a stroke - three times, I'm going to miss you but am also glad you stopped, hopefully without serious consequences. I know the kind of work it takes to pull off even one five minute video, let alone three or four a day and all the preparation it takes to have that kind of knowledge. I have been amazed that you have kept it up as long as you have. Best wishes for you personally, and as for the channel, I ain' goin' nowhere, real fast.

Thomas White

When I first found your channel, I didn't know if I'd like it/you, but you became a mainstay for my daily life, my sanity. You're easy to watch & listen to. I guess because it's evident you know what you're talking about--all I've already covered above. No BS. You're honest & believable. You're refreshing, especially in contrast to most others, who are for the most part stupid & ignorant. (Top of my list of what/who I can't tolerate.) I too wish you could make it through the Election. Because of you, I've made it this far through all the politics the last years. I wish you all the best. Unexpectedly, I'm tearing up writing this. I will miss you. Be well. Love to you.

Buffalo6

I have been greatly enjoying Belle's commentary! You have a worthy successor! Rest, recover and carry on 🙂

Heidi Tryon

It seems strange, but it is an actual grief process. You leaving the channel. I am very happy to see your wife and others on the team move in to fill the time and space. You made such a big difference to me personally and I think probably too almost of the people following you. You guys take good care of each other, much love, Laura.

lawhoff95

All change, positive or negative, comes with grieving. I grieved for a bit, but knowing what "almost burned out" means. It wasn’t until a smart lady told me I was too DEAD-ICATED that my life changed. Stress became the enemy.

Frederik

I have a question for Beau and the staff. If you could open a school for 1-12 grade students, what would be your curriculum path? How would you grade the progress of the students and the teachers? I ask this because I believe that our education system is in serious trouble. And I believe without some proper guidance, our young people won’t be able to learn or lead in the future. Thanks for all you do!

Bill Ridout

No question, I just wanted to say that it really brings a smile to my face to see how quickly Belle went from that nervous first video to very quickly becoming ever more self assured. I'm already coming to appreciate her presentation style even as I miss Beau's and I'm excited to be able to watch it develop.

Charlie Burrows

Hey Beau and Belle, Thank yoy Beau for all you have done and Belle I am so enjoying you finding your voice on the channel. I hope you both find a good life balance of where it needs to be and have time to enjoy your Dogs and Horses. Two questions a fun one and a serious one: Belle: Are you still considering an informal Horse rescue and how many do you have now? Two and more serious current events: It's well known that MAGA types are trying to install their people in Election boards to either stop or slow down the certification of the elections. Everyone tells us to be aware of this but no one seems to be telling us how we can fight back against this or make sure they can't succeed at doing this. What if any steps can normal people take to keep this kind of action from happening or fight it when it does?

Lisa Marie Fuqua

I've been watching years too

cindy jewell neeper

I'm proud of you for recognizing that you need time away. It's hard to acknowledge, and it takes a lot of courage. Thanks for setting a good example. Please take the time that you need to recover. Belle and the rest of the team are doing great! She does indeed "know things" as she said recently, and she's definitely finding her voice. I think she's improving her delivery faster than you did years ago - which is a testament to both her as well as the team behind her. Thank you for leaving us in such good hands.

J. Scott Wilson

I know , it took like a week for it to be great!

cindy jewell neeper

Dear Beau, I miss you. Nothing against Belle. I came to depend on just seeing you & hearing you. You have a calming effect. You're very knowledgeable, convey it well, know how to connect the dots--explain the dots in understandable basic language. You're REAL.

Buffalo6

Hi Belle! How big is your shirt collection? Do you have plans on growing it?

Nathaniel Mitchell

When is Belle going to start a line of colorful flannel shirts? I love all of her colorful flannel and told her so and she responded she's going to need more and now she knows why Beau has so many shirts :D Good reason to buy more Belle!! Maybe a line would be a cool idea!

Carrie Vos

Beau, thanks for checking in. Hope you are feeling better. Belle is getting comfortable and it's obvious that the channel is in good hands. She had me chuckling the other day when she said "I know things" after mentioning her military service. You have a keeper there! As much as I've come to look forward to seeing her daily, are there plans to give her regular time off? Y'all need family time together! I'd like to meet more of you awesome team. Stay well!!

Ken Cain

Beau, selfishly I have been concerned with my own sort of grieving process. Apparently I didn't realize what large and incredibly positive force Beau has become in my life. A voice of reason, a voice of grounded sanity and really a remarkable role model as well. From the charitable work, community building, helpful guidance (emergencies and such), and all the clarity and insights on current events. In a sea of insanely overly sensationalized news and media and all the disinformation, what an incredible breath of fresh air. Of course genuine fans want you to be well and take care of yourself, but I will still be sad about that voice I love so much...not being there. Genuinely sad. I'm typing through wet and blurry eyes. Though I am launching all of my support Belle's way... my heart has been hurting too. I hope everyone gives Belle and the team and channel their full support. Thank you to the moon and back for giving what you have given over the years. You are one in a million.

The channel is as good as ever, Beau. You and Belle are very similar from an outsider's perspective...great transition! Y'all must have some very interesting dinner table conversation going on. Godspeed to your health, Plural Sentence Man!

Jason Smith

Beau, enjoy your time off. Belle, you are doing great.

Alvaro Quiroz

Not asking about your plans, so much as what you've been up to lately. How you doing? What you doing? Hopefully spending more time playing with the kids, the dogs, and the horses. I've always appreciated both channels, and came to appreciate you more, you personally, after seeing what they're like without you. Not worse, just different, and it's okay; we'll adjust. I like you. That's a weird thing to say about someone I've never met, who doesn't know me at all, but there it is. I've also missed you. Hope you're feeling better since stepping back though.

0mn1vore

Hi Beau, I’m glad you’re doing what your need to do for your well being. You have served as a pos male role model for me, and taught me how to stay calm, not react, but to take action instead. I grew up really rough. No pos male role models when I was a kid, or even after that. I didn’t realize it would hurt so much to lose you. How ridiculous is that? You don’t know me at all. You were like the brother I needed but didn’t have. I absolutely get why you stepped back. Miss Belle is doing an amazing job, but I’m finding it a little to painful to watch right now. I’ve tried, but I guess my cPTSD & issues with loss isn’t having it. I’m just one small patron, and I’m pretty sick right now, so getting out to make a diff anymore isn’t really possible. I realize this is a big deal for me, & not you. I guess I wanted to explain why I’m going to stop watching for awhile, but I’ll remain a patron bc I believe in everything you all are doing. You were my adult Mr Rogers. You helped me a lot. Have a lot of trauma from male abuse in my life, since I was about 5yrs old. It’s caused me a lot grief in my life. Thank you for making me believe all men aren’t like the ones I grew up around. Take good care of yourself, and your family. Be well💛

D.Shepherd

My family and I miss you Beau and we’re all hoping you’re doing well. Super happy with Belle and the rest of the team, we’re not going anywhere! Wishing you and your team the best ❤️ take care of yourself and each other

JT

No questions, just gratitude for you both, the team you continue to cultivate, and the good works you all do.

JKM Donne

I was so sad to hear you were stepping back. This political culture war we've found ourselves in had me terribly depressed at times and you were always my island of sanity, logic and calm reassurance. I was apprehensive but am pleased to make Ms Belle's acquaintance. lol perhaps you should have been sharing the channel with her all along.

Karen Russell

Thank you for all you've done for us. Rest and recover your joy. And especially thank you for continuing the channel with Belle. She's great!

Dorelle Rawlings

Yes I would.... honestly... as I said, it's the same criticism I give myself on a Zoom call when I see my neck in an odd position. It's why I mentioned it. And get a really bad crick in my neck, when I am that way. I promise that wasn't a sexist remark. (And I meant 'criticism' to be funny... cause it was more of a concern)

Robert

Hi, Beau&Belle, Well, I can't remember when I started watching Beau, but it was during a really down time and your voice of sanity kept me grounded through it all. My "routine" this last couple of years has been to open the podcast, make breakfast, sit with a cup of coffee and catch up. Your "news" the other day sent me into a wee bit of a panic, but when I heard Ms. Beau's science news, I knew my mornings were in good hands. Thank you both for guiding us with a steady hand through news that has been, well, weird. And I will add to what others have said, when Ms. Beau said, "I've done stuff. I know things," I yelped with joy. Sassy, too. Whatever you have planned, I'm in. Thank you for passing the torch and thank you Ms. "Beau" who I now hear as just "Beau" for taking it. Please take care of yourselves. Your work really means a lot to many people.

LuAnn Collins

Seriously? You are critiquing the angle of her head. You would never say that to a man.

Beth Kantor

Thank you for stepping up and helping your nation in a time when we needed a calm, measured, well researched voice. Many of us needed the news without the fear mongering and h@teful rhetoric. You and your family truly embody the adage, "for such a time as this". Thank you for leading us through the storm. 2 more terms of voting out authoritarianism and we can be sure, we are on the right path again. *crossing fingers* Rest well friend, you have done well. I look forward to learning more from this channel. I have enjoyed everything thus far.

Teckriter

(darn it, I keep hitting return instead of shift/return--please bear with me!) Belle, I am pleased that you have taken over for now. You're doing a great job, and I do appreciate the subtle helping of snark that I'm detecting in your presentations! You already seem to be more comfortable and confident in front of the camera than you seemed in your first few presentations, and I hope that's the case. I very much look forward to watching you evolve in your new role, as well as the new content that your team will soon reveal. Thanks to you both (and the team) for helping me to stay better-informed and relatively sane in these most insane of times. Take care, Rob

Robert K. Baker

Hi internet content producers, I finally learned how to contribute financially to you. I have wanted to for a while now, even if it is not a lot of money. I am sure I’m not alone in this. Do you have a place for people to contribute to you for all your hard work?

Beth Kantor

My husband and I have watched you for years now. Your focus on what's going on around the world and here in the United States is so pitch perfect to us. As we watch and listen to you, we find ourselves nodding in the affirmative; sometimes my husband will pause mid-video and we'll discuss our views on what you are talking about. Oftentimes it's simply to lament the truth of what you are saying; sometimes it's just to vent (a tiny bit) about the state of this Union. Then we resume the video and find ourselves so appreciative of your style of delivery, your way of not ever editorializing facts. You simply present them and while you may inject an opinion or two, it's always done gently and respectfully. And what I really love about you is that if you don't know something, you say so or you advise us to, "wait and see what happens." It's journalism at its best, really. Thank you so much for keeping it real. And I hope whatever you do in the future, it brings you joy.

Ria

Speaking of future plans, how about a rocking chair on the porch with a good sandwich and a book? Or a good book and a sandwich... Or maybe two good sandwiches ... Oh man, I'm hungry...

Nikolay Semov

We love and adore you and the wisdom in your content, and trust Ms. Belle and the team to carry on in the same spirit and quality. Much appreciation for content on climate change, and please encourage more on that. We at Climate Rail Alliance work daily on improvements in rail which has the potential to be a climate solution when well utilized - all rail - not just ultra high speed. Please have your team reach out any time for info or discussion on the potential for rail - especially improving existing rail. We have experts waiting. I hope that during your sabbatical you'll enjoy the book we sent called The Climate Emergency; Trains - An Effective Response by Thomas White. Take good care. info@climaterailalliance.org

Q for Belle: I have similar workaholic issues as Beau but toss in a side of disability so overworking myself is not hard. What's something I can do for my wife to show her how much I appreciate her when she picks up the pieces after I break myself? Or something that makes you immensely happy when Beau does it for you?

Michelle Oshea

That's awesome thanks for everything. So happy you're taking time to yourself after giving so much for all these years. Thanks for all the education it's paid itself off in dividends over and over.

Wizdomseekr

Hey Beau. Glad you're checking in, even if only on Patreon. It's good to know you're doing well, and regaining your strength. My only 'criticism' of Miss Belle is that she cocks her head to her left in many videos, and I just get worried that she's going to get neck pains (even though they are short videos). I see myself on Zoom at times, and it always makes me concerned about my own posture when I'm angled and didn't realize it. I would love the team to engage in a discussion about unlikely voters and current polling trends/inaccuracies. I'm reasonably confident about November, as I don't know anyone who didn't vote for Trump in 2020 who would vote for him now, mostly just "I told you so" people who are MAGA Trumpers in the first place. But I live in eastern Pennsylvania, so that might not be the case across the country. Be well, take care. I'm excited to see the the team and what's coming next. Oh, one other FAQ question for Miss Beau/the channel. What is the current state of "The Fifth Column" outside of Beau? I remember him talking about the organization in the past, but that was several years ago.

Robert

I fear you are “softballing” us and there are certain underlying health issues you would rather not burden us with, made me feel sad to type that just now. I pray that is not the case…and y’all have my support either way…

Morgan Christie

Thanks for checking in with us. Funny thing about change .. "It's just not the same..." Well, no s#*t! Glad to have had you as long as we have. You helped change my thought process, as I'm sure Ms. Beau/Belle will, too. Take care of you so your family can thrive and enjoy you, first and foremost. We love y'all and your channels. ♥️

Sandy

I know Beau's favorite horse is Marilyn. Belle, who is your favorite?

Barry Drake

Beau, I've missed hearing your voice. But Belle has been great too. She has found her voice in such a short time. I hope with time, rest and introspection you will find your balance and have peace in your life. Belle: I am thankful Brashear is my governor. Do you think he'll run for McConnells seat in 2 years?

Trina Davidson

Hope you're enjoying your "retirement". Don't be a stranger though...no reason you can't pop in to say "Howdy" every once in a while. We get the channel isn't just you but that don't mean yah'll ain't important to all of us. 😄

Philip Wilkinson

Hi Belle! Somehow, you are developing a voice and tone slightly reminiscent of Beau's ultra dry understatement, yet very clearly your own. It's a joy to watch. I have two questions: How will you take care of yourself so you don't burn out like Beau did? Are you a full time nurse and parent as well as putting out three videos a day? Please take care. Second: I always wondered why the patch on Beau's cap showed him dead from drinking poison. I guess one can see it as black humor, but I could never square it up with Beaus advocacy of educating ourselves.

Gingermoon

Beau/Belle, You guys have been awesome, I've been watching your videos for 4+ years now. I know you've made some significant improvements in people's lives. Do you have any plans on taking that further? I know you've done a lot of work with individuals and smaller community groups, have you ever thought of expanding into working with something bigger? I think you could do a lot of good in a political position of power. Any idea if running for congress is on the table?

Logan Lewis

Howdy there, folks. My question: Recently Rachel Maddow speculated that trump might not need enough votes to win if he could disrupt the election results. She said he had around 70 local election officials in his pocket that would be willing to refuse to certify election results in key states. Do y'all think this is a real danger?

@Beau, you did what you could for as long as you could (well, longer but I’m sure that Belle let you know that). That’s all we could ask. Recharge first, that’s your sole job. Then think about what’s next.

John Pyrich

Great to hear from you. I had noticed that some emails and subjects seemed to be causing you more distress than before and since I'm sure you only reveal the tip of that iceberg ( or do I mean snowball from avalanche?) of info and emails from folks needing help & reassurance, there had to be a tipping point for you too. Glad you're doing something for you. (And the family) to make you feel more like you again.

Pauline D

Beau and Belle - you guys have been a breath of fresh air to me with your common sense analysis of current events. It has been good to see Belle gaining in confidence. I particularly loved as she told off the doubters by "I've done stuff, I know things." I am not surprised that you burned out - I hope there is plenty of dogs, horses, kiddies and rest in your life as you recover from an exhausting and grueling schedule and figure out what is next for you.

Cascadia Rising

And to submit a question, what, if anything, is Beau most looking forward to now that you are away from the camera?

Cody Leslie

Hey Beau, glad you're taking time for yourself. We all need to at some point. Bosslady belle is doing amazing, proud of the both of y'all!

Albalus

It still feels like a dream. Not quite real, to see anyone else on camera for this channel. But Belle is doing great, each video better than the last. I hope that you can find some joy in things you love and can enjoy your time away and the fruits of your labor. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want you to return someday, but I ultimately want what is best for you, whatever that looks like. I’ll still be here watching either way.

Cody Leslie

Hey Beau and Bell, I've watched the channel almost daily for nearly 5 years, and enjoy it so much that I became a patron about 3 years ago, as a way of saying "thanks" for the consistently excellent content of the channel. Kudos to the team for collectively providing such reliable and relevant information on a daily basis. Beau, I admit I was taken aback by your sudden (or so it seemed to me) departure; I had become so accustomed to seeing you every day, that it felt like a close friend leaving town for good. But do know that I fully support your decision to prioritize your happiness and well-being, and wish you a speedy recovery from the ill effects of overexertion. The world is a much better place with you in it, so please take whatever steps are necessary to keep you in it. Also know that I will continue to support the channel as I look forward to the new features/programs that are in the works.

Robert K. Baker

Beau: please take the rest you need. Belle: I didn't expect you to need to defend your credentials, but I'm glad you were able to remind folk to take you seriously. You've been doing a great job. Are there any directions you want to move the show in while you're behind the wheel that it might not have had the chance to go before?

Byll

Right now, I don’t have any questions for y’all. Just absolutely thankful for y’all doing what you do.

Z C

Well howdy there Beau! I'm so glad to hear from you. I have been very concerned for you these last few months. The intensity of your concerns have shown in your eyes and in your voice. I am so grateful that Ms. Belle has been able to step in for us to continue your highly valued thought processes. Her voice and delivery is a perfect match to yours and I am glad to hear her. My husband and I have been bolstered and encouraged by your commentary these last few years. We believe Ms. Belle is your equal. QUESTION for Ms. Belle: Is the material written by a group of persons or a single person?

MJRuth

Beau, I love what you created with down to earth info and I will miss you. But as a female it's refreshing to see a strong intelligent woman available to take your place if someone has to. I hope there's a plan to keep her from burning out, especially since she didn't exactly sign up for this in the first place. Belle, I feel like we're in good hands to receive honest, important information and I'm really enjoying hearing from you. I'd love to know more about your Air Force background and why you chose that service branch.

BonXID

Beau & Belle, first let me thank you for all of the wonderful, thoughtful commentary you have given and continue to give us. You are irreplaceable as a human, and so by needs must be replaceable as the internet face of the channel when you have to step back and heal. I had a friend who went by the handle “M. Kelter” also had a Patreon presence, writing about his journey as an autistic kid, and a late-diagnosed autistic man. A person’s passion for reaching out and wanting to make real differences in the lives of others who are struggling can be overwhelming. He has been gone two years now and I miss him terribly. You are doing the right thing. Sending love and solidarity from Lora & I. Be well.

David Smith

Your analysis over the past few years has been worth it. That message clearly was not. Go team! I do appreciate Belle stepping up for continuity. Keep up the intelligent and timely commentary and we will move past this disappointment. rah rah.

Rick Tark

I love that you’ve made an amazing community and it continues to grow. Like a pebble in the pond it’ll reach the shores and improve many others as it travels. Just want to thank the whole team. Question, as the team continues to do volunteer and support work for communities. Could you add a dedicated camera person to watch and record from the shadows what each one of you does so we can have an update without having to ask each member to make a commentary vid. Just some pictures or short clips would be amazing.

Joshua Turnblom

Dear Beau, thank you so much for taking a few minutes for us. I am selfishly sad and missing you already. That's what you get for being a AMAZING human that is also very good at what he does ;) Your health comes first and it is an excellent lesson for us all that you listened to that voice in your head of those that love you and made the right decision to step away. Keep reading the comments if it helps your head and heart....but only if it does. Being so dedicated, you have of course left us in EXCELLENT hands. I am really enjoying the new content from the team and getting to know Belle and watching her grow so quickly into her new "front of the house" role. Don't worry about us Beau, we're not going anywhere. Wishing you health and happiness. QUESTION for BELLE: Will you tell us about your horses and how they came to be with you?

Joy M

Glad you checked in, Beau. Hope you are not only resting but also exercising which often gets left behind by workaholics. Walking is the best... Belle is doing great! Her delivery gets more confident by the piece. Her personality is starting to come through. I still wish she had a different hat... something distinct from Beau... something that says BELLE!!

Gina Black

Maybe this is the next step to growing your media company? You wouldn’t be able to grow the channels without turning over some of the on screen work to others. One single person can’t do it all. Belle is proving to be amazing in her own right— I really enjoy watching her videos too. Can only imagine that you have other team members that might be ready for screen time as well. Your connections with sources, your fact checking & your ability to know “where to look” are irreplaceable. But so is your free time and quality of life! Looks like you’re on the way to finding the right balance. Kudos

Danna Flaherty

So nice to hear from you Beau! We miss you terribly, even though Belle is doing wonderfully well. I do believe, you can't be immersed in the 'filth' of the last several years day in and day out and not need to take a breath and wash off. I hope someday we get to hear you again, maybe this time as a duet or maybe on a fund raiser? I know you had your original plans as to what you wanted to do with this channel and maybe you will be freed up to expand those ideas, or start something totally different. I am sure that whatever it is, it will be to expand the consciousness of the planet and to shine the light that is uniquely yours! Much respect to you and your team. I have your saying, "Seek equality in freedom, not equality in oppression." ~ Beau of the Fifth Column, on my website. While out on an appointment, I had someone ask me, who likes Beau? I said I do and we talked for quite sometime about how wonderful you are! The legend continues!!

Alesia Jenkins

Beau, your Internet People love you - and this community - so much. What you're doing, taking care of you, is so important. We'll be here if/when you decide to rejoin us, but, if that day never comes, thank you for everything!

Ashley DeNegre

Proud of you for being able to recognize that you needed to step away, and then taking the much harder step of doing it. You built something amazing and worthwhile, and I'm so excited to see where Belle and co take it from here. Hang in there ❤️

Cait Monroe

Thank you both for modeling how to be with others in a better world. Your channel is like ASMR for the heart and mind for me. Please continue the good work and looking forward to many other ways to support and help whatever projects the gang comes up with. Coming from a family of nurses and teachers, I would love to see more content on health, emergency aid/response and trauma support, etc. Also like support or model scenarios how to help people stay calm or not escalate situations to where people need to grab gear etc.

cuddleycivics

Don't think about the future...just live in the moment of now...go enjoy a well deserved rest. I think I remember you once saying Belle would never go on camera...but never say never as she has been doing amazing and is a quick study and natural at it. I'll be tuning in. Thanks team!

Staci G.

Thanks for the note, Beau. I miss you so very very very much, and at the same time I am grateful beyond words that the team is continuing. ❤️ to you all.

limell lawson

Hi Beau, Aussie here. I don't know when I started following your channel but I know it was a few years ago after I watched one of your videos for the first time. You totally debunked something Tucker said and won me over totally. I think I've watched every 5th Column video since and I've learned so much. I was a bit shocked and sad when I saw you were stepping away from the Channel, but I totally understand and support your decision as to what's best for you. Belle has done a great job taking the reigns and I'm sure she'll just better and better. Just curious though, did Biden inspire you to pass the torch like he did to Kamala? Haha. Take care Beau, I'll miss your daily messages, but thanks so much for helping us understand what's Actually going on. I hope you can visit the channel sometimes. Chris from the Fraser Coast (Queensland, Australia)

Chris Anderson

miss belle has done a amassing job and so has the rest of the team thank you your channel has had a profound impact on my life and views as I'm sure it will continue to do god bless you all

Ken Edwards

Howdy, Beau! Proud of you for doing what you need for your own well-being. This is all important, but YOU are also important, and I'm glad you're taking the time to prioritize yourself. Belle and the team are doing great; the channel is in great hands. I'm loving watching Belle find her voice and know they'll all continue doing amazingly. I would be lying if I said I didn't hope to see you back doing videos every once in a while; that said, you should only do so IF you can get to a place where you can maintain a healthy balance and rediscover that joy. Please, please, please - don't sacrifice your well-being for us. Please take all of the time you need... and then take some more. Take good care of yourself. Belle, Q for a Q&A - How are you doing with all this? I know you're reducing the posting frequency to help prevent yourself from burning out. Are you and the team taking other steps to set good boundaries so you still have plenty of 'you' time? Is there anything we can do as a community to support you and the rest of the team? Is the rest of the team comfortable saying hi to us at some point or do they prefer to stay behind the scenes? Less serious Q: who's your favorite horsie, or what's your favorite horsie story?

evistre

another thought. Any ways you can think of that we the Beau/Belle peeps could volunteer or help with the fifth column, please let us know. I think a bunch of us are eager to help (besides being on Patreon). I know I am.💙🐪

alumpyhorse

Can Belle introduce the rest of the team? We heard from Dana today… who are the others who make up the rest of the team? Miss you terribly, Beau… change is good and Belle is making us all proud, but you are still very missed.

Alexandra Medina

Belle, what do you like to read? And did Beau finish reading his novel?

Drew Lackovic

What happened to the fruit trees? Seriously. I am enjoying the older videos. Such a change in Beau, yet the foundation of you feels the same.

dcy665 .

We love our Beau and our Belle. How can we help, what do you need. We are a movited group we just need some direction. Reading through the comments there are some damn good people here. You started something great, and we are just now Beau and Bells peeps now.

Community building classes were discussed once or twice. Are they still in the works?

Feygor

We’re family. Rule 303, love to all 💙🐪

Hey Beau! Definitely miss seeing you on the channel but it's still checking the boxes for me. I'm glad you're taking time off and I hope you feel well rested as time goes on. Oftentimes it takes longer than you think, when you've just kept grinding for such a long time. Play with the horses all you want. 😉 I don't really have questions for Belle, I'm just happy to see how things unfold. Glad that she stepped up into this role, and it's only gonna get better! It's good that the team is working together to distribute the load. Keep up the good work everyone!

Jen Gosnell

B of the Fifth Column has been, and remains, a very valued source of perspective. Beau, take care of yourself and your family they need you. (We know you are.) Belle, you do the same. (We know you are) Way to step up. It takes guts to put yourself out there and you’re rocking it.

Fabulous Frog

Sixth column when? But in all seriousness, favorite Star Trek character?

Zane Perron

Both are wonderful authors, and their collaborations like Good Omens are awesome.

Ethan Brown

Thank you, Mrs. Beau. For taking on this project, and for looking out for Beau's mental health. Has Beau managed to pick up any hobbies since stepping back from the channel?

Thomas Spurr

Thanks for the update Beau! Glad you are taking time to recover, take more time than you think you need. Belle - Welcome again, I am glad to have the channel carry on and get to see the famously mysterious Mrs Beau. Onward and upward!

Tristan Lenhart

You mean a lot to _us_, Beau. And Belle and the team are doing a fabulous job. Keep healing. Your six is well-covered.

Jan Kingston

p.s. I'm curious: Are you folks alright there in Florida with Debby's arrival and so much water, etc. ?

Pamela M Ponsart

Interesting for me because I miss the old—you—and like the new—Belle. At my age (81) adjusting to new isn't always easy...

Charlie Newman

First, I miss you Beau, but I am loving Belle!! ❤️ How are you feeling about the transition to being in front of the camera instead of beside it? Are you actually surprised that Beau stole your Halloween decorations? What's your favorite horse or farm story?

Wynter

Hi Beau. Hope all is well. When Belle said that you were purposely not putting any time limit on your future plans, I can say from personal experience that this is exactly the correct thing to do. When, at the age of 56, I went through similar, and had to “step away” I told myself I wouldn’t make any plans for at least six months. In the end it took nine months before I knew I was ready to rejoin the work market, but when I did return, I was more rested than I had been in years and have found a new joy in life. I hope you find your own peace wherever it might be. Be well, be safe, and most importantly, do what Belle tells you to.

Mark Curtis

Thank you for your note, Beau! It's great seeing you here this way and I'm supporting you all the way. Belle is doing a fantastic job. You are a lucky guy.

Pamela M Ponsart

I will sponsor you reading pratchett. Name your format and i will send a title. If you read i i will donate extra to the patreon. I beleiver there are more pratchett fans who wil sponsor you. Pratchett brightens up my days when im down. Pity only four hour reed per book so i smear out the joy.

Hugo van Putten

Q for Belle: You would surprise Beau with a new horse, what are you worried Beau is going to bring home (or find as a hobby) now that you're the face of the channel?

10LawnGnomes

Ya'll keep taking good care of each other! Got what will hopefully be a fun question: I'm currently in the panhandle for Military training and like to get my brother presents when I go TDY, what's the most Florida gift I can get him for $75 or less?

Henry Corse

Hi Beau-glad you chimed in. Belle is doing great, starting to get her own voice and style. Good idea BTW to hang one of your shirts on the shelf! Remind us that you are indeed still around. I do miss your guy voice and outlook sometimes. If so I watch a police training or gun video to get re-centered. Keep in touch, we do like to hear from you, Sherry in Seattle.

Sherry Sahlstrom

Howdy there Beau and Belle,

Robert K. Baker

Howdy, Beau! Obviously we all miss you, but we are glad you're taking care of yourself. While I'd always love to hear your voice again, Belle and team are doing an amazing job. I'm excited to see where they take things. 💜 Hi Belle! Two questions for you- 1. At one point you mentioned maybe uploading old videos to fill in the fourth slot - is that still on the table? If so, maybe using the teaching videos, like the can opener, or the emergency preparedness videos might be good. 2. Are there still plans to do more regarding community networking? I thought it was mentioned at some point, maybe a "take the show on the road" type deal, but I might be misremembering.

Question for Belle: what are you reading right now?

james anderson

Leadership includes passing the torch and trusting the example one set. Belle has the watch Beau, you are relieved and released to the inactive reserve. Perhaps there's a honey-do list with your name on it. 😏

Scott M Wilhelms

Beau are you going to read more fiction. I was shocked you dont know terry pratchett or neil gaiman. I wil so

Hugo van Putten

Y’all have done a great job so far, and I look forward to the future of this channel with hope and enthusiasm.

ReflectorNikon

BTW folks, I’m pretty sure these are supposed to be questions for Belle. Just sayin’.

Lori Allenbaugh

Heal brother! You created a great thing even if it was by accident! Belle - I don't know you personally but from what just transpired, and how you picked up when your husband was down spoke VOLUMES to your character. Thank you both for just being normal and NOT WEIRD!

Mike Burns

As much as I'll miss you and your delivery, Beau, the content coming out is still vastly superior to, and better grounded than, almost anything else out there. I just let my NYT subscription expire, and one of the reasons is the information the channel provides. Bravo Beau! Chill on it for a bit. No need to be in any hurry. Takes a long time to grow another head. And Belle, keep it coming, you are a voice of reason!

Michael Knowles

Belle mentioned possibly reposting previous videos (or something like that). I don't know if it is possible, but would you consider posting an older video - possibly with a short new intro added? - daily or weekly. I'm thinking that these would be videos that are particularly relevant right now. Maybe some that cover issues Beau handled about an older indictment that is now back in the news or an older labor issues video that gives great context or background that helps us understand a current strike. I just feel like so many videos from the past are super-timely info we might need to see right now going into the election. Anyway - you're all doing great. Yeah, team!

Souzzann

Wonderfully stated. I couldn't agree more.

Beau, long time follower. So glad I found you - it was like "whoa - he says what I'm thinking all the time" and look at the that - he's from down south, not some dam Yankee. Confirmation bias from afar ... lol. But more than that - you created something that doesn't shout at me - and levels out the information. I think in time you'll figure out what's next for you. You put in the hard work to make this what it is - now try to look back at it from deep space from time to time and the answer may eventually formulate. Enjoy life a bit, political journalism is like fighting a war ... it drains you mentally and physically. Belle is doing great and I hope she doesn't burn out too - let the team be the team, you lead, jump in when it feels right. But take care of YOU and your family first. My question lies in education and I thought you guys were working on something "bigger" in that area. I am always saying "The Dumbing Down of America is Upon Us" and educating the masses about how our gov't works from local to federal is something we desperately need more of, at every level. Knowledge can eventually weed out the outliers. A more informed voter only makes this country better in the long run. School curriculums need to change. I could say the same about finances .. but that's another issue.

Pete Joachim

Questions for Belle (and any other team members who feel like answering): 1. What about this change made you nervous (and, if you're comfortable going into it, are you still nervous, or less so now)? 2. What are you most excited about with this change?

Emily Tersoff

Thanks Beau! While I'll miss our parasocial relationship, I'm fully in support of the new crew that's now running the channel and look forward to what they do with it. Good luck to you in whatever is next.

Shawn Murphy

I am really enjoying Belle's presentation and voice. As a woman in tech, I have fought for 30 years for equal voice, equal respect, and the realization that anatomy doesn't dictate intelligence or message. Rock ON Belle.

Maura van der Linden

Thank you for everything!

Dawn Alexander

Hi Belle, What event before age 18 had a positive or negative impact on your quest as an adult today?

sue idge

Hello Belle and Beau. I cannot begin to express my gratitude for the calm voice of reason and wonderful information you have provided since I discovered your channel a couple of years ago. The trump “presidency” has been traumatic for all of us and it’s been a wonderful gift to have a place to get facts without the hysteria. Thanks for all you have done. I would love it if you did a video addressing the Republicans’ plan to refuse to certify votes in many states across the country. This is terrifying. Thanks and bless you both (and your entire team). 💙

Debbie Chang

Dear Belle Two questions 1) Are you going to incorporate your past experiences from being a nurse and in the military? Like Bueu did 2) Are you planning to do any skits like Beau did? Like the upside down patch.

Shane Sanders

Internet Peep saying hello and hang on.

Dimitri T

Please please please continue to focus on yourself. You are a gem and your brightness will never dim as far as we are concerned. Belle is doing a great job! The channel is in good hands. Self-care needs to be a priority!

Gerald Simonowits

As to questions: What are the planned focus areas going forward? Politics, Tech, and Emergency Prep seem to be the big ones--and could be more than enough.

Randonator

I don't really have a question but could Belle discuss what she was seeing in Beau before he finally realized he needed to step away, what were the signs? It might be helpful for people that have workaholics in their lives or might be one themselves and don't realize it. Thanks for all that y'all do, take it easy Beau the team has got this now.

justin wood

You've been a daily presence in my life for years now, Beau, and it's always sad for me when good things come to an end, or rather change into something unfamiliar, but Belle is truly coming into her own with every new video. If anything, people finally get to see the full shirts they were craving. I chuckled at the timing coincidence of Biden stepping aside for Harris and you stepping aside for Belle. Take the breather you absolutely deserve, the channel seems in good hands.

Ralf Paul

I’ve been with you since the beginning, but your health is something which cannot be ignored. We are all human, not machines. It’s wonderful your wife and team have continued the channel. Best wishes for taking the right path. I will continue to support your efforts.

Gary Droege

It's the form the Military gives you when you separate (i.e. become a civilian again)

Cattie Stivers

I was a bit worried for the first few days, but I'm increasingly certain that it's in excellent hands. I imagine it's hard to step away so suddenly. Now that I'm starting to see Belle on screen, I'm seeing that you really do have some amazing support in your life. It's still taking some getting used to not hearing your voice 3 times a day and 4 on Sunday, but I'll eventually adjust. Thank you for all you've done!

Zulikath

Beau, I have been keeping you in my heart because I know this place has been the beat of yours for many a year. I appreciate what you have created and the team you have surrounded yourself with so very much. It's been a bright spot in a confusing world over the last three or four years.

SteVibiana

❤️ the whole team. Do you guys really think trump has a chance? I mean, really? He’s done absolutely nothing to gain support since his last 7mil vote lose and quite a lot to loose support so if I’m missing something please let me know. Personally I don’t think he has a prayer in hell. Not against Biden, not against Harris, not against an Orangutan carcass…

Sean Lantis

Glad you're taking care of yourself. Make sure that the team doesn't try to spread themselves too thin. Focusing on quality rather than quantity is the way to go.

Randonator

Whatever you do, Beau, we're behind you. Take care of you and Mrs. Beau and the Beaulings. It's what you would want US to do for ourselves. We'll miss you, but we will carry on, and maybe someday we'll hear your takes from you again. Love from Upstate NY.

Cattie Stivers

We all wish you the best Beau. Glad you're finally putting your health before the channel. We do miss you but Belle has done amazing. My question is now that the Supreme Court ruled that presidents can be kings (or queens), how could Trump be charged with 91 felonies? Could that change?

NotSure

Beau, it is so nice to hear from you. I've been crying on and off since you left. The grief is real. But I'm so glad you are taking care of yourself, and I am so grateful for everything you've done for us. Question for Belle: What's been the hardest part of your new job at The Fifth Column?

Selma Filali

What have I missed? What's the news/change?

Jake McKee

Belle, I would love to see a video that I can share with people about the goal of the far right to turn women into second class breeders. Laws against rights, we already have sub-par medical care, the current rhetoric about "childless women/cat ladies", the movement against birth control, the sneaky attack on trans folk that very well may see a movement against hormonal medications that will affect people of varying ages and needs, the nut jobs who own social media sites crowing to their cult that the earth doesn't have enough children being born, etc. I would LOVE a comprehensive video in plain speak that lays it out there so we can share it with the people who are not paying attention. Maybe 53 year old flag waver might think for a moment if that estrogen patch on her butt is in danger. Love, a 53 year old patch wearing non flag waver. :-D

CBM

Belle is doing great and I am so glad she has been so well-received. I usually hesitate to look in the comment sections but the ones on your videos are not toxic like some - quite the opposite! I hope you’re managing to rest and relax and take all the time you need. We’ll still be here :) Love to you and all the team from the UK!

Major Ward

Hello Belle, it’s an internet person. 🙃 I think you’re doing great! I’m curious if you had ever imagined following in Beau’s footsteps? And are the kids excited about it? I’ll bet they are proud of you! Keep up the good work.

Lori Allenbaugh

I'm glad you took the much needed time for yourself, Beau. Been there, done that! I love watching how Belle has come into her own and brought her personality to the channel. You take care of yourself, now. Thanks for the message; we all love y'all.

Michelle Warmath

The true sign of a great leader is that they build an organization that no longer needs their leadership. Be well.

Wayne Smith

It's less bumpy than the team may think. Belle is finding her own cadence and voice in lightning speed and neither channel feels like the tone has or will shift. Really excited to see everything planned for the Fifth Column News Network

Nadia Pennyfeather

well, y'all have said little recently about covid, repeat infections, and the stacking of neurological failure that is coming down the chute. it's an unpopular topic that *nobody* wants to talk about.... however, at our current wastewater rate of 1,200,000 cases a day, we are under two years away from 25% of the US population being somewhere on the long covid disability curve. what do i base that on? for the last year and a half, i've moderated the largest long covid group on facebook, which is a lot like cleaning spittoons and washing decks on a plague ship. how bad is it, really? i just came out the tunnel of 4 1/2 years of treatment for stage 4 high volume metastic cancer, and i went thru all the treatments, hospital visits, yada yada yada, without catching covid. and i have no evidence of disease. 5 separate cancers, all gone. thanks for asking. and the guy who just did that, would not trade places with most of the long covid people, for love nor money. that should say something. i've never had covid. why would i moderate 200,000 people in decline? probably the same 303 reasons you do the public service work you do. it''s just a thought.

Randy Allen

We miss you, Beau, but Belle is doing a great job! Take all the time you need and hopefully someday you'll come back to us on a limited basis. Thanks for all that you, Belle and the team do.

Judith Tudor

We really love you Beau! Take care of yourself first and if you feel like coming back to do some things later we'll be super excited to see you! My recurring question has been, is now, and will continue to be is there going to be a gardening episode?

MerryMary

Put on your own mask first, before assisting others ;) We'll miss you Beau, but we're in good hands with Belle + team. Burnout is a bitch. Take care of yourself.

James Dressel

What is a DD-214? Civilian here.

Joe

Smooth enough waters for me. And i get sea sick

Gabe

Love ya Beau. Belle is doing fabulously. Y'all take it easy now, ya hear? ✌️

Pull up the roots

Belle’s delivery is becoming smoother and more confident in just the short time she has been in front of the camera. Tell her she is doing a great job.

Phadrus

Whatever your future holds, I love you, brother. You brought a lot of peace to my mind

Joseph Wilson

I’m loving Belle and she is getting real comfortable in my heart just like Beau did. I’ll be watching and liking all these new venues. Great to hear from Beau! I’m wondering how Belle is liking her new job on the channel?

Katb

Beau you and your wife are an awesome team! I hope one day you'll be able to work on the channel hand in hand with your wife, maybe taking turns as to who's in front of the camera. Until then take care of yourself and rest well. For Belle I'm curious about your time in the air force. Were you a pilot? What did you do while in the service?

alexander gaitan

I understand and am so grateful for everything you have done and what the team continues to do. It is a beautiful thing to watch as they grow. They've got this. Take care of yourself.

Leslie Shank

I'm so glad to see you prioritizing your physical and mental health. It's something I was forced to do myself and I know it's hard to step away but I think we all understand and still want to give our support to the channel.

Richard LaFayette

I have been following you for years always amazed at how consistent you were, but I really can't blame you for burning out, I only wished that you had maybe had more people in rotation/on screen earlier, though having your trusted voice is also one of the great things about the channel. Lady Beau is also doing a great job, there's an adjustment period to everything, but she is doing well! I hope for all the best for you in the future and I'm looking forward to see what happens with the channel :)

The Logan

The team is heavily leaning into the idea of turn the second channel into that. But old school real journalism, not a 24 hour news outlet of today. But again, I don't want to ruin their announcements.

Beau of The Fifth Column

In my 67 years, I’ve been forced to step away and I’ve taken the leap to step away on my own terms. I recommend the latter, but in all cases, carried the love and learning I found in my previous incarnation to be the foundation for new adventures. Change takes time and courage and tears and laughter and support. So I’m sure you and we will be well Thank you. 💗

K B Murphy

Beau, we appreciate all the work that you've put into the channel(s). And wish you well in whatever adventures and projects you seek out next in life. I look forward to seeing how the team grows from here. 💙

Reva

You were the core of the tree. Now we all keep it growing.

Rob Jobin

I love the channel and everything you and the team have built. Belle is doing an amazing job right out of the gate. Thank you and the team for the all work you do!!

Michael Vazquez

Beau I love this for you and I’m so glad the channel is evolving and growing. My question for Belle: when was the first time you realized you would end up talking to the camera? What was that process like?

Arcana

Belle is absolutely wonderful also. ✌️

Gabe

Beau, we all know you've been relentlessly lobbying the Harris campaign to pick Walz for VP. Since you "almost" never endorse candidates you can't tell us anyway, but we know you did that and thanks.

Brian Carroll

Thank YOU! I hope we get to see you again in the not too distant future.

Zeen Rachidi

Take all the time you need. And if you the time you need is infinite, that's ok too. We learned so much from you and your team already ^^ so Thank you from France ;).

Pierre-Antoine Augereau

We are lucky to have you and La Belle Dame to keep us sane and optimistic. Thank you both.

Debra DiPiazza

Stay safe gonna miss you

Nick Tobias

I have so many words my family and I would like to share with you Beau but I'll be brief and hope you know all the other words when I say "Thank you, please be well."--from that "opossum person" and other parts of my blue family living in blood red Upstate SC. And Belle is amazing, I am glad we were all finally able to meet her.

CBM

Belle is doing great! This channel inspires me and will continue to for a long time! Thanks for everything Beau!

LYNN SWENSON

Thank you for all you do!! Helped a lot of people like me wade through the last handful of years. Again thank you from Michigan!

Gabe

No question, just wanted to say I can already see Belle is getting more comfortable. It’ll just get better from here. Beau, good luck with finding some peace again and getting back to what brings you joy. No doubt you’ll be out helping after Debby. Stay dry.

Lauren Wagstaff

we will miss you but we wish you well!!

James

Same team, same quality reporting, same shed. And it means you get to rest for once. I'm excited to see how Belle continues to "find her voice" as you put it. She's already doing a great job and carrying the 5th Column torch like a champion. I hope this proves to be the best move for y'all. Just a thought, as it were. Have a good day :)

MaxMaximumMaximumer

I'm glad. I think it'll be bumpy for about a month and then everything will really smooth out.

Beau of The Fifth Column

I'm glad you did what was best for yourself and your life. It's the only thing we can control so I'm happy you made the best decision you could. My only regret is not getting to see more of your shirt collection.

Adam Clease

Howdy Beau! We all miss you, so much, but are happy to know you are taking care of yourself. We love you - and your whole team. Take your time. We’re here for you, no matter what comes next. 💖

Christina

You yourself taught me to do what you can, where you can, for as long as you can, and when you need to, take a break. I hope you're doing well and can get back to doing what you want to do when you're ready.

SerSnufflesTheStalwart

When will you be starting BNN (Beau Network News)?

Joseph Wilson

No questions. Just know that we Love and Support you (both) and the whole team. 💙

Shabazan

Hope all is well Beau! The channel has been different but I’m enjoying it so far
