STRAY KIDS - "ATE" ALBUM LISTENING PARTY

HI ROOMIES!!

OK FINALLY .... We did an album listening party for Stray Kids ATE. You guys don't understand the will power that I have to NOT listen to things or watch things when I want to.

Have y'all ever heard of the marshmallow test? It's the one where they give a four year old a marshmallow and tell them that if they wait, they can have an extra marshmallow. And some kids eat it right away and some like hold off a while in hopes to gain the extra treat. It's quite the experiment! Apparently they followed the kids to see what happened of them and the ones who delayed gratification excelled in school and had stable careers. The ones who ate the marshmallow right away had a harder time.

All this to say - I HAVE THE WILLPOWER OF A MIGHTY FOUR YEAR OLD WHO IS WAITING FOR THE SECOND MARSHMALLOW. But it's hard!! Because I want to watch all the things!!

The fact that LE SSERAFIM is my favorite girl group and I haven't listened their new album is crazy. Pun intended.

Anyways - this album, ATE, is so good!!

I just have to say, their fashion is on point. I just love their look and style. So cohesive. So high end but also streetwear??

Also the production value on their MV's are so good. I want to make music videos like that!

And side note - Lee Know in that baseball cap in the Mountains video. Just yeah ... hmmm. He cute.

Anyways. Enjoy the reaction! We have NANA Tour Next! And some solo stuff from both me an Allison on deck. And, fingers crossed 🀞🏼🀞🏼,  we'll film more this week.

i love how collaborative it is between band and creative team. I love that they're really involved in that process and that the label allows for that to happen. that they have a say in the directioin their art goes. also love the easter eggs and symbolism here. very cool!

Ahhhh I wish I was more knowledgeable about SKZ so I could know all the easter eggs!! I'll have to check out that vid for sure. And Howl in Harmony sounds interesting! I'll see if Allison wants to do that one too - she really likes Stray Kids. But man, I just love the creative process so much! Thanks for the recs!

I love this album! I like all the songs but I absolutely adore "Stray Kids". I think it was perfectly timed since they just renewed their contracts. There are so many easter eggs for their past songs and MVs hidden in both the lyrics and MV. There is a Stay that made a video with all of them if you want to watch it. https://youtu.be/ciX610U3Mdw?si=bQYyboCLTCV-RXFo I think you would really like their series Howl in Harmony where they split into 3 teams and each created a song. The songs created are Red Lights(Bang Chan Hyunjin), Surfin' (Lee Know Changbin Felix), and Gone Away (Han Seungmin I.N). It is 5 30min episodes showing their whole process of creating the songs, meeting with the MV directors and planning the MVs, and behind the scenes of shooting the MVs. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL2HLJ87twWI2G7OkCCQfOI6Dr-02JBbMN&si=C2tvqv7XUIi4tUD4

stray kids actually work closely to their creative teams, they are heavily involved in pretty much every aspect of their career, it's something they're very proud of. i don't know if you noticed, but in the stray kids (song) m/v there were scenes flashing back to old m/vs from their career, heavy on their song hellevator (as mentioned in the song lol). it implies that they never lose sight of where they came from while acknowledging that they are still growing in their careers and growing alongside each other

cee!!!
