And welcome to all the new Stays! We’re so happy you’re here. There’s lots of content on our Patreon so hopefully you have time to poke around and check out some of our other videos.
We filmed some earlier this week and we plan on shooting more tomorrow. So we have lots of content coming for you on the horizon.

So I was in the middle of cutting the Korea vlogs (from my trip last fall) but I need to push out a different vlog project. So it’s more timely with Elaine’s birthday and death anniversary coming up (Elaine was our original host at K-Pop Crash Course) and so I have to get these vlogs out first. So I’m switching that up, sorry for the confusion.
Allison is coming back around tomorrow and we have a few different post-it’s on the wall that we’re thinking of tackling. Not sure which ones we’ll do but I’ll keep you posted!

I’m so sorry about your father. My condolences. I actually lost my father last year too. And then six months later, Elaine died. It was a rough year. I feel like I’m just now getting out on the other side of a very long grieving process but I can safely say that it does get better. I still miss them dearly, both of them. But it gets easier. Thank you for all that info! Everything you mentioned about 5Star album is super helpful for an album listening party! I’ll make sure to line up the right ones. And YESSS to the new comeback next month!! I have to put that on the board NOW. I’ll probably still make a poll but secretly want 5Star to win. Hahaha. We’ll see what happens. There’s so many albums I still want to listen to. There’s just so much good k-pop out there!

I've already seen Goblin but I'm totally down to see more of Gong Yoo and LDW's bromance. Legit they make that drama. Actually watching Kim Go Eun in Goblin and then watching her in Yumi Cells - I'm like, are you the same person?? Anyways - I haven't seen Fight For My Way yet and I know that Allison would DIE if we did because Park Seo Joon is in it and she's in love him.

I just lost my dad a few months ago, so I'm right there with you🫂. I'm glad you have enough support around you for help. Take your time with it, such anniversaries are difficult for everyone🫂. Ok, so I noticed I wasn't completely coherent the last time LOL. Oddinary is the trailer for the album Maniac is on. The Oddinary album is a mini album with 7 tracks on it. They are all so good - there are MV's for 4 of the 7. As for album listening party you can start wherever to be honest XD. I love all their albums, they are all a mix of hard hitting and some softer songs. The softer songs, in their case, always deliver a message, so pay attention to the lyrics. The 5Star album is also great to start with. This one is a full studio album containing 12 tracks. Of these: The Sound is the Korean version of their previously released JP title track (it has an MV but is JP) and Mixtape: Time Out - is a song they released last year on the fandom anniversary day (also has MV). 6 of the other tracks have MV's (including S-Class which you've already watched). This one also has a trailer. If you're not planning to have this album listening party very soon, SKZ has a comeback in the beginning of November (the 10th) with RockStar. They already released a trailer (https://youtu.be/52HQOPBtwrQ?si=Cmm7-Gb10mJRucWP) for the new album which apparently has a more rock sound :). So you could also start with the newest one. Given they write, compose and produce it (in collaboration with other writers and producers sometime) I guess it makes sense. Besides their regular Korean and Japanese albums they also have on their YT page a playlist named SKZ-REPLAY where they post original songs or covers. These are not announced, they just drop them whenever :D But yeah, you should make a poll. People have different opinions on it. But I haven't really watched the song in full. It'd be fun to line that up for our next watch. 2023-10-17 15:25:35 +0000 UTCElaine looooooooved V's voice SO MUCH. Knowing her, she would've had the Layover album on repeat nonstop. That girl LOVED BTS and it was so inspiring watching her get inspired by their music. Looking back, I'm so glad she tricked me into doing this reaction channel because it gave us something to bond over (and allowed us to talk about our expertise). Musically, she was a genius. I miss her. But even now, almost a year later - I still have these videos of us going to BTS concerts and hanging out. And sometimes her music pops up on shows that I'm watching (literally - I was watching the show "Younger" and her song came on). All this to say, thank you for your kind words. She was a beautiful soul. And I miss her.

I'm still working through all the footage and trying to piece together how I'm going to do the storytelling - it's a very delicate narrative so I'm trying my best to give the story justice. Luckily I've had a lot of time this past year with both therapy and great friends to help me go through the grieving process. So I'm doing relatively ok, all things considered. We'll see though when her first death anniversary comes up. I'll be checking in on everyone then. I queued up Oddinary for the next filming session but I def think we'll do a Stray Kids album listening party. Is it the 5 Star album? Is that what we should start with? Looks like Oddinary is its own album? What do you recommend? I guess I could also make this into a poll. That's always fun when people can vote on which album to start with. Anyways - thanks for watching!!

2023-10-16 15:30:14 +0000 UTCWanted to toss in Guardian: The Lonely and Great God (AKA Goblin). It is in my top 5 k-dramas of all time. (FIGHT FOR MY WAY as well is up in that top 5). It depends on what you're in the mode for when you're looking for a k-drama, but I love that GOBLIN is such a mash up of genres. It has fantasy, supernatural mythology, destiny, straight up buddy comedy, romance and tragic romance, and it was the first cable drama to top a 20% share in viewership. Gong Yoo, Kim Go Eun, Lee Dong Wook, and Yoo In Ah are the leads.

I'll just start with a video that I believe is a 17 gem because it really showcases vocal units harmonies and I know you ladies will appreciate that so...[Special Video] SEVENTEEN - 아낀다 (Adore U) Acoustic Ver. Also their Going Seventeen series is so entertaining just like Run BTS, the guys are hilarious! For the KDrama side I'd say Itaewon Class, My Beloved Summer, and Bloodhounds to name a few.

One of the first videos on the channel I watched was your and Elaine's reaction to V's Singularity(with him being my bias reactions tend show up on my feed). I could definitely tell she was in the music field based on her passionate reaction. This of course led me to scroll and see the memoriam video you made for her and to see some of her videos of her beautiful singing. May you remember the good times and I hope that brings you comfort.

For Stray Kids I suggest first watching the Oddinary trailer (it’s an album trailer not a song), as it puts things into context, but it’s not mandatory (also make sure to watch the main trailer, as there are two versions of it). This album came out last year in March, so not too long ago btw. If you want to replace the Oddinary trailer and keep it for an album reaction (they have awesome trailers for both their older and their newer albums), I would suggest from the most recent album TOPLINE or GET LIT. Looking forward to it 🫂💜
