Previously available at the $10+ level, here is the first sequel to Disney's Three Little Pigs!

With the enormous success of Three Little Pigs, released May 1933, this first sequel had its story outline written five months later in October. Animation began the following month in November, with some of the final assignments handed out by February 19, 1934.

The scenes of the Big Bad Wolf entering Grandma's house, struggling to open the closet and putting on her clothes were originally assigned to Gerry Geronimi, but were shifted to Bill Roberts, who had started animating at the studio around this period. Likewise, other scenes ultimately assigned to Roberts were originally given to Norm Ferguson and Fred Moore.

The announced release was set for April 14—however, on May 3, the cartoon premiered at Radio City Music Hall where it accompanied Howard Hawks’ Twentieth Century with John Barrymore and Carole Lombard.

The Big Bad Wolf was one of the last films at the studio directed by Burt Gillett. By the time of the film's release, he had moved back to New York to run the animation department at Van Beuren Corporation.
