I started from the first chapter and I could not put it down. It took me the better part of a week but I am all caught up. Thank you so much for writing. I wish I could live in this world. 2024-12-20 14:49:09 +0000 UTCYeah, i can't imagine a story having a 'fate' so to speak and then tweaking all the variables, so that it comes to pass naturally. Some thing I've read other authors do, was write another 'buble' and later on, when they found it did not fit into the main one, had it collapse due to a third party. Either by deliberate sabotage, acts of god or random chance. Like a growing revolt which would derail the story, be snuffed out due to a huricane or its leaders be assasinated by wannabe loyalist suiside terrorist, or their plans being leaked by luck and having them being dealt with offscreen. When that happened, it did feel a bit artificial, but sometimes life realy is anticlimactic and reading out the sidestories still give the world more color. Though I've never writen anything to date, so I really shouldn't give feedback, except how I feel about the story in its present form.

2024-12-13 12:38:44 +0000 UTCAs for a different story, I do have the seed of an idea for one rattling around, but that's where the other issue hits: all the other nonsense going on right now for me outside writing. Most days when I have the time to write, all I wanna do is hit the couch instead.

2024-12-13 12:21:04 +0000 UTCThe problem is that even a side story like that has to be consistent, and any new place or character expands the bubble. The best option for an easy writing section is a "beach episode" with the main cast, but there's already one of those planned for a few chapters from now. It's already been set up, so you can probably guess what that's about.

2024-12-13 12:19:06 +0000 UTCWould writing an unimportant sidestory help? Like from the perspective of a different person, with no main story or possible even direkt connection to the story? Simply to engage with the world and flesh it out a bit without impacting the main character? Like the POV of an adamant citizen in the capital or in the city of light. Maybe a POV of a watch crafter or a minor noble talking about the rumor of a missing core-crafter. Talhearts people learning to live with humans? Some of the ten discussing the warning with each other? Slice of live in the world, so to speak. Could even make it non canon untill further notice? Whatever helps makes writing fun again. Maybe a different story altogether?
