How to set and keep your New Years Resolution
Set a goal- this is your resolution
then set mini goals:
want to start moving more, get fitter? Set weekly movement goals that are realistic and achievable. Even adding 5-10 minutes a couple days a week of movement can be beneficial and a great start! This helps make your goal more manageable.
Schedule:
schedule time to move in your phone and add reminder and alarms. Even if your goal is to move more frequently throughout the day, set timers to help remind you that it’s time to move!
Support:
surround yourself with partners family friends that align with your goals, surround yourself with messaging that reminds you of why you’re committed to the resolution
Sign up:
gym, online fitness program, virtual races, etc. (free online fitness programs exist, including Nike Run Club)
self talk:
tell yourself you’re going to “do the thing” every day, even if you don’t end up doing it, you say it enough one day your brain will want to do it, so you will!
Setbacks:
Are normal, happen even to elite athletes, restarting is not failing! Quitting altogether is failing, remember: Do your best leave the rest!
