Caroll, IA and General Updates

Caroll Iowa Update

First, I feel it’s necessary to thank all of you contributors for your continued support of my projects. I could not do this without each of you. It may seem as if I haven’t been around lately, and I will explain that more in a bit. I just wanted to give you guys an update and those that care about the rest can read on.

Carroll, IA is about 90% complete. I will be releasing a new test version this evening that will have the ground and most (non-custom) farms included. We are still working hard on making custom buildings for several farms to get as close to IRL as possible. Those buildings will not be included in this version. We are also working on adding some custom features to the map that are still being worked on. I plan on having a finished testing version with custom buildings and features released to you guys in the next week or two. Trust me this map will be worth the wait.

So why the delays?

When I released the first version of Caroll, I purposely left it a little on the empty side as we were attempting to find the person(s) responsible for leaking the previous maps. As expected, the first version of Caroll was leaked right away. We have implemented several safeguards to try and limit the potential future leaking but that took several weeks of my attention to address. I also wanted to give it some time for the “leakers” who are typically impatient and unwilling to stay subscribed time to leave before a better version was released. I know it may be frustrating to some, but if I don’t at least try to limit the amount of leaking, then this won’t continue to be sustainable.

In addition to the map leaking issues, I discovered recently that I have a serious health condition. I had previously mentioned in updates from the last couple months that I had basically been sick since October with cold/flu symptoms. Through bloodwork my doctor was able to finally track it down to what we believe is causing the symptoms. At this point it looks like it is something that I will be able to manage and correct which is good news. However, the stress from being diagnosed and the necessary lifestyle changes I’ve had to make have made it necessary that I took a couple weeks to get my health figured out and get on track with my new future. I am at a point now where I feel rested and ready to get back to it.

I appreciate each of your support and understanding. I know many of you have messaged and I will try to answer each of you in time, but please be patient as I get many messages per day, and I also have a full-time job I manage apart from all of this. I say it often because I mean it, but you guys are awesome, and I appreciate you all more than you will ever know. I’m excited to get back into the swing of things and getting these map projects out to all.

Thanks Again!
