Ain't Misbehavin'

With the song "Ain't Misbehavin'" we continue with the thread of great jazz tunes from the past. This one was composed by Fats Waller, a jazz pianist who was an expert in ragtime and stride style. After the song came out it became so popular amongst musicians that pretty much all the big names have a recording of it: Louis Armstrong, Billie Holiday, Django Reinhardt, Joe Pass, Anita O'Day, Sarah Vaughan, Bing Crosby, Ella Fitzgerald, Harry James, Miles Davis, Art Tatum, Sonny Stitt, Sidney Bechet, Ray Charles, Nat King Cole, Willie Nelson, Dave Brubeck, Johnny Hartman, Hank Williams, and that is just to name a few...

The song was usually played in the key of Eb major, but I believe you will find the best chord positions for the guitar to be in the key of C major. I have also added the intro, which is a gem, although it was seldom played by other musicians.

In order to give a slight modern flavor to the song I set it to a lo fi backing track, with a few guitar effects. Also, stride piano style translates beautifully into travis picking guitar style so everything blends really nice with the lo fi backing track.

Hope you'll enjoy...
