Dan Bell Saturday Replay

Sorry about the confusion. I had to end the first stream 20 minutes into it due to youtube issues. This is somewhat better but has all the stuff from Fort Armistead which was great! Enjoy!

But is Dan ok?

Sharon Becket

Thankfully Hell has better internet service than Baltimore!

Matt-Synth Cordner

Dan you should use this in the podcast intro or intermission.

Nolan Schenburn

Hahahaha. You got me! You're sense of humor is the best!

I kinda feel like a freeze frame and fade to black accompanied by some sad Sarah McLachlan would have made it perfection. That'd probably be a copyright strike though.

I loved the song they were playing in the park so much I had to Google search it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ULxcmMgsxf4

Now I gotta get a Ouija board so I can catch your livestreams XD

Hi Greg. I’m actually in hell right now being tortured for eternity. Thankfully they’re going to still allow uploads.

Dan Bell

The live WAS over 2 hours long. You tube must have cut the live after it was over for whatever reason.

Just saw the Livestream replay today as I had to work during it last night. Is it just me or does Pt 2 end kind of abrupt and strange? Dan hitting what sounds like a bump in the road followed by "ahhh" (stream cuts off). Is that how it actually ended last night? Is Dan ok? Just concerned for his well being. Though it looks like the time of this post is much later so that's a relief.

I'm gonna post aa comment I made here regarding the West Virginia christian station vid, because its broadly relevant to Dans work. "I'm not asking Dan to do all this work, but all these defunct malls, abandoned homes and areas, etc to me is like finding cancer cells in the human body (United States). And digging in to what is causing it is like testing it to see if theyre benign. My theory is they are not, and what we are seeing is a sign of Late-Stage Capitalism slowly rotting out the entire country like a cancer. And its no mystery why so many areas related to coal are left abandoned. One large reason is automation. While coal executives were lying to the country claiming "climate change isnt real" and that "Democrats are destroying the coal industry", what they and their subservient workers werent saying was that automation has single handedly decimated the Coal worker industry. I think coal now only employs 55,000 workers nation wide. Kohl's employs more people than Coal. If the lies were true, that in pursuit of green energy, Democrats wanted to shut down the entire coal industry, its effect on the economy would barely register because it'd only be displacing 55,000 workers in a relatively centralized area of the country. Congress could feasibly pass a bill giving all displaced coal workers social security early as well as the option to be relocated and retrained. So the fight to keep coal relevant is not a priority of american workers or essential to our economy...its just a handful of billionaires fighting to suck as much blood out of everything while they still can. And these dried out husks of former communities Dan Bell has explored repeatedly are the result of what happened anyways when nobody stood in the way of the Coal Industry. The decimation caused by corporate greed has been well documented, most popular example being Michael Moores "Roger and Me", which showed how GM just demolished an entire city during record profits so they can go make more profits by outsourcing manufacturing to other countries. And GM was very vocal with their defense of "Fuck you, we have no responsibility to the local economy or the American worker. Our responsibility is to the shareholder." This was in the late 1980's. So anybody who claims we all have to defend the Coal Industry in the name of its workers is blatantly lying or is just an idiot. And every abandoned coal town is just a consistent example of what Big Coal thinks of this country and its people. Big Coal is one of the last bastions of Feudalism straggling on. "
