2023-02-09 15:26:03 +0000 UTCReason why it glows green is that it has uranium oxide in it. Vaseline and uranium oxide were used as coloring agents in glass making pre-WWI. Uranium oxide gives off a green tint, and vaseline a yellow tint. The Uranium oxide glasses are actually a tiny bit radioactive. They look pretty cool!

2023-02-09 07:25:03 +0000 UTCI'm not sure, Dan, but I think those very cool green pieces were referred to as carnival glass. It was also sometimes called "poor man's Tiffany," if I'm not mistaken. I've got to agree with Myles (above) that I could have watched an hour of this tour, or even more! Thanks for another great "visual time time capsule!" Like everyone else, I'm eagerly awaiting more.
